It was amazing!!
My best photo shot with my phone camera from cj row 9 - seat 21. Great view! http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...62804750_n.jpg |
Quote: Hey what was your seat number? I just sat left of you :cool: |
Quote: Ck, row 11, seat 33 |
Quote: Haha echt vet! Ik vond het concert echt geweldig, alleen het voelde zo kort terwijl het toch anderhalf uur duurde! Vooral die stukjes met Us Against The World dat iedereen ging joelen voor Will was echt vet en bij God Put A Smile Upon Your Face song Chris: "God give me 20.000 Dutch people in the same place" was echt prachtig! :D Ben je al vaker naar concert geweest van Coldplay? Dit was mijn eerste keer btw :) |
Quote: Oh wow, that's awesome, even without the soundcheck! What time were you there? |
@TehM1ZZL3: So were you sitting next to me or not XD? |
So, time for my review of an amazing night in Rotterdam.
We arrived pretty early, around 3.30 pm at Ahoy. After scoring some food at the local AH (what a HUGE shopping mall btw) we lined up in the queue. It was about this long by the time we arrived: http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/6716/imag0117hj.jpg The wait took forever and it was freezing cold because of the wind. Also the (heavy) rain was a bummer. But even the tough conditions the atmosphere was good. I saw a scooter guy arrive because someone ordered a pizza. What a hero. The doors opened almost on time, around 6.40 pm. We ran in to the arena and got a front row spot at the 'B-stage'. Not long after that Emeli Sande started and she did a great job opening. Definitely had worser support acts. Coldplay came on around 9.15. The moment Mylo Xyloto started all of our Glowbands were turned on and it was an amazing sight. The sound during Hurts Like Heaven was poor from were we stood. But the visuals, light and of course seeing the band again made up for that. I was happily surprised that the balloons were back during Yellow. They really belong to that song and not Lost!. During In My Place I was taking pictures of the confetti when suddenly, for my feeling out of nowhere, Jonny and later Chris were at 'our' stage. We went crazy. It was great. http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/249/imag0128o.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9470/imag0134ib.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/8...8019851744.jpg Before Major Minus spoke some Dutch to us and held he's usual speech. Although I'm not a big fan of the song the crowd went really crazy on this one. Also amazing: Violet Hill. Man, I fell in love all over again with that song. On GPASUYF I kept jumping and screaming until I was totally out of breath. How awesome was that. Short after that Chris appeared on the B stage to do Up In Flames and it was absolutely magical to see him 1 meter away from you. This is the short clip I shot: Was very happy they play Us Against The World again instead of Till Kingdom Come. The 'fuck up' was very funny. We all screamed so loud Chris and Will started laughing the moment Will jumped in the song. My vids of UATW: The best part of the show was definitely the Politik-Viva La Vida-Charlie Brown part. Three of my favorite live songs and what a great performance. Chris didn't sound very good on Viva, but in my opinion he never really does. It was awesome that he came so close to us again and the moment the glow bands went on again for Charlie Brown was breathtaking. Charlie Brown was my highlight of the evening btw. What an energy during that song! See here how close Chris comes during Viva and see the glowbands being turned on: The encore was as expected with Clocks, Fix You and ETIAW. Also Chris did White Christmas again, which disappointed me because I'd hoped for Christmas Lights. Afterwards I was mind blown. Again. And this was my third time seeing them live. It was amazing. Again. I was very pleased that I could buy the tour program that I so desperately wanted. It's really beautiful. Today my voice is gone because of all the singing and screaming, my legs hurts but I'm still in a kind of graffiti heaven. So happy I was there and can't wait to seeing them again in september. Pff, so far away.. |
Nice Review :cool:

It was amazing! Could almost touch them :)

@kevinvdooren
Yea it were great places! Wow, I was astounded by how they played and if you say this was the best of the others you've been at Nijmegen and Pinkpop then I know I've experienced something special! It was really my first concert I've been to in my life... and now I believe it can't be better! Ahoy is not too big at Malieveld I think you will see less because you are all standing.. just wait till they come back in a (few) years! :) @LoversInJapan Haha nicee, I got sore throat of singing the whole time all the movies my friend captured are ruined because you only hear singing me and not Chris (and I can't sing of course xD) |
@R23 Wow, you were really close to us! Were you in the group of four boys of which two had checkered(geruite) shirts(bloezen) or in the group of three of which one was a blond girl with a white shirt and the two others were boys? Or neither? :P I was just behind them, short black hair and a green hoodie and a black Mylo Xyloto t-shirt.
It was so cool when they came to the X-stage, it was just so close :D I also got a tour book but I don't have a xyloband, we were too rushed to see they were handing them out. |
It was great, the crowd was amazing. I was one of the first 10 so I got to test the glowbands^^ Had a brilliant time with Tash and Stefan and some other people. Although I really would've LOVED to see the soundcheck so much, but it doesn't matter much cause we had a great time and indeed saw Chris and Will and it's really great to see them just being casual, doing their thing before the concert. I think maybe they didn't play christmas lights because they didn't soundcheck and maybe they would've practiced it then otherwise. I did find it a bit short, but it was great anyway, I just hope the setlist is longer in the summer tour.
But the glowbands were great, and the confetti aswell (although nothing beats the butterflies ;)) and I brought quite a lot of confetti home with me, and UATW was utterly brilliant, I love it when the crowd manages to surprise the band, even if it's used to a lot ^^ |
