Well I really haven't listened to every song of theirs yet, so In Rainbows is still miles ahead for me. I LOVE Bodysnatchers and Reckoner. They're just brilliant. I need the luck, they are harder to get into. I have only started in the last few months liking them. If they came here, I would be keen to go, I have heard they are real interesting live, but as you said, Aussie isnt a really popular destination for them.

As for Muse, they have plenty of time - that would suck if you missed them. Would you think they would play were you were going overseas?

Looking forward to friday when i buy the New Eskimo Joe album. You like them at all?

To be honest I havent, but I have meaning to listen to them! I want to when I have the time. My mate at work likes it too. I have been getting into Radiohead tonight, trying to listen to albums other than In Rainbows. You like it? Also you have a reasonable argument that Muse may be at V Festival, which would be super.

Oh man, I loved BDO. It was my first one this year, along with V Festival (which was a million times better!!).

As to how I keep up: nme.com, and I have spies (friends that like the same music). So if something comes up, I hear about it pretty quickly. Its an addiction, well it has been this year. I, at the start of the year, had hopes for 2009 to be my 'year of live music' - and, it has been costly so far, but worth it nonetheless.

As to u2, I think Jan/Feb next year is a reasonable expectation.

Franz Ferdinand, Manic Street Preachers, The Enemy, Doves, Maximo Park, Twisted Wheel, White Lies.
As to who I would love to see tour late 2009:
Kooks (again, I missed them), OASIS (they are my #1), Maximo Park, U2, Travis, and The Enemy.

from what ive heard MGMT are quite average live. but i loved their album of last year first 5 tracks were epic. the main reason i'm going to Doves is cos i have a mate who loves them and that doesnt happen often. so i'll make the most of it.

i sent u another PM with about 50 bands i like to see live.

Thats tough that its impossible in sydney, its not too hard here in melb. We have decent venues other than Rod Laver.

As with Splendour, the cost was too much for such a poor lineup. Previous years were so much better. I am going to the sideshows for Friendly fires and White Lies, so thats covered a few.. and I am the same, would like to see MGMT and Bloc Party, but I am not desperate to see them. I am more excited for Doves because I want to hear how good they are live, and also they are really good musicians with complex-sounding songs.
