Wellll.... See, it's sort of a long story. I'm not quite old enough to drive, which means the one who would have to troop me down the 3-hour drive to Cincinatti would be my dad. Now, my dad really, really likes Coldplay (which is very impressive because he hates almost all a) contemporary bands and b) rock bands period) but he HATES going to concerts. My dad is not, as you would say, a "people person" -- I mean, he hates crowds, hates the noise, etc. and while he considered it for a while, he decided he didn't want to pay ~$200 - $300 to drive alll the way down there (that's another thing he hates, as it happens -- driving, I mean, especially for long distances) sit through a noisy concert for three hours, drive alllll the way back (at night -- incidentally, something he hates even more than driving

) etc. etc. The three main things he hates are sort of stacked up against me as you can probably tell
Plus he said, "oh I only like classical concerts, those are the only ones where you can really hear the music" (which is a pretty fair point, imo) and also "oh you're just better off listening to the albums anyway" (which is an AWFUL point, imo

) I then told him that Coldplay was epic live and I think he figured I was just exaggerating to get him to go with me.
It's okay, though.

I've not even been to any REAL, fairly large concerts, so I probably at least don't know exactly what I'm missing out on

Plus I really don't want to piss him off extremely over one little concert, cuz our relationship is kind of fragile, and I don't want to... you know, damage it.
Next time they swing round here, after the fifth album maybe, I'll be able to drive there myself, I think, so it's all good.

Also, I'll probably be able to lie in wait for the band to come round signing albums and everything too!

Which I DEFINTELY could NOT do with my father in tow.
So, that's my tragic tale of why I can't go to a Coldplay concert
