You said this in the BDO thread:

just got a massive poster from the free street music mag i pick up weekly. its 2 metres long and 80cm wide. on one side you have a live shot of matt bellamy playing his red guitar and on the other side you have the official BDO 2010 poster w/lineup. looks awesome! but i kinda wish that they made this after the entire line up had been announced

second line up expected early november.

    -------------

Any chance you could get another poster if they're free? I would love one! And is this the mag outside of JB Hi Fi, the A3 sized one.. I read that sometimes.. I am not sure if it is national or just melbourne

i've put a bit of thought into it and i've come up with this list of my favourite songs of 2009. its basically my favourite song from my 20 favourite albums of the year. no special order

    1. Two Weeks - Grizzly Bear
    2. Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    3. Crystalised - The xx
    4. Crying Lightning - Arctic Monkeys
    5. Gimme Sympathy - Metric
    6. Daniel - Bat for Lashes
    7. Listzomania - Phoenix
    8. Turn It On - Franz Ferdinand
    9. Velvet - Big Pink
    10. Also Frightened - Animal Collective

    11. Unnatural Selection - Muse
    12. The Fixer - Pearl Jam
    13. Stillness is the Move - Dirty Projectors
    14. Who Can Say - The Horrors
    15. Goliath - Karnivool
    16. Oh! Hark - Lisa Mitchell
    17. The Price - Dappled Cities
    18. The Darkest Side - The Middle East
    19. Sundown Syndrome - Tame Impala
    20. Audacity of Huge - Simian Mobile Disco

Sweet Disposition is an interesting one. cos the single for it came out late-ish last year but the album came out this year. not too sure whether it will be eligible for a spot on the hottest 100 this year.

its what i would call a bottom heavy bill. the best bands will be on smaller stages and i like that. i would much prefer to hang around the smaller stages than be out in front of the main stage for the whole day. overall, its a good line up but really not good enough at the moment. 2nd annoucement will most certainly be interesting.

Yeah I stayed up until midnight, it was tough to get onto the website! Pretty happy with it. It's not as impressive as it could have been, anyway. Most impressed with the thought of seeing:

    Muse
    Kasabian
    Powderfinger
    Eskimo Joe
    Lily Allen
    The Horrors
    Ladyhawke
    Dizzy Rascal
    The Temper Trap

and maybe others. Very strong British representation this year but I don't think the lineup is as good as last years....yet. Let's see the 2nd announcement.

    Still super excited, nonetheless

only a couple of hours away from the line up on channel v and the official website. i'm a regular contributor to the faster louder forums and that place is going into meltdown in the hours leading up to midnight. it will be a massive upset if neither Muse nor placebo nor kasabian are on the line up. bands like massive attack and the dead weather would just be awesome bonuses.

well my source is common sense and interviews with the bands. matt bellamy told triple j they will be at a music festival in australia around january. brian molko of placebo said that they will be here in the summer. vampire weekend have an album out in the first week of january so its only natural for them to be here. kasabian have nothing better to do. the main aussie act will be either jet or powderfinger. the temper trap and lisa mitchell were confirmed in the sunday papers last weekend. so was Lily allen and dizzee rascal.

i guess we'll just have to wait another 9hours!

and sorry mate but not a big fan of melbourne. the weather the afl and the trams just shits me.
