    hello again sire

from what i've heard of the new green day its complete crap. but still have a few more tracks to listen to.

i read your review of the eskimo joe album. it seems pretty good but i'm not converted yet. but at the same time i listened to the grizzly bear record which is simply amazing and almost perfect.

whats that arctic monkeys song that has the line "you just met your future bride"

well its an interesting article. i agree with most of it especially the Green Day bit. i was actually going to give their new album a fair chance and take a listen tonight before i bag it out. i'll do that tomorrow. i prefer their 90s stuff to this arena rock stuff they've started to make. but looking at the numbers they're shipping most will disagree with me.

    talk soon mate. get well.

Yes, the ladies that are hot and can sing are a double threat (ones that DONT sing pop / dance crap)

As with the NME article, they suggested that U2 were PAST their prime. Here's the link. Tell me what you think. http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?bl...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

I'm off, got to sleep - I havent been well today. Talk soon!

did NME say that U2 have made their best record in ages if not ever? i find it hard to trust some of these music publications especially rolling stone who gave No Line 5 stars. this is how i see it. give the band an awesome review say they are better than ever before and in turn they will like you and give you 'exclusive' access which will naturally lead to larger sales.

i think nowadays its a little hard to judge U2 by their live performances cos you put any band on a $5 million dollar stage and they will blow your mind. except maybe nickelback.

i was hooked on children collide in the latter part of last year but have now lost interest in them. their album was decent but lacked depth. listening to Bat for Lashes at the moment, shes got an awesome set of pipes and quite good looking too

ah thats ok... Older than You is fantastic. Hopefully there is an album feature, but I never listen to the radio, so.... I don't mind Children Collide, saw them at BDO and they didnt really blow me away with their awesomeness..

Oh I know about the radiohead elitists. Check the Snow Patrol Week thread in Music, I had a few arguments there which I now find petty and hilarious. They basically think they are kings of the world. I am actually trying to listen to them to find out why everyone raves about them. U2 at their peak? Hmm.. NME would suggest otherwise, did you read their feature about them recently? I like Magnificent, its one of their best. I dont know if they are at their peak, a live performance will be my judgement.

i can't say i'm much of a "fan" of eskimo joe. i like a handful of songs Older Than You being my personal favourite. but there has never been anything that just jumped out to me about them. nonetheless i'm certain that triple j will feature their album next week (unless they do Grizzly Bear) and i cant wait to listen to their live performance at the One Night Stand this coming saturday. i'm a big fan of Children Collide also.

and with radiohead dont force yourself to listen to them you're better off ignoring those elitist fans on the WoM threads. most of them are very nice people in general but when it comes to radiohead they are plain annoying.

this morning i got an old U2 dvd. Live in Paris 1987. U2 are their peak in my opinion.

Well I really haven't listened to every song of theirs yet, so In Rainbows is still miles ahead for me. I LOVE Bodysnatchers and Reckoner. They're just brilliant. I need the luck, they are harder to get into. I have only started in the last few months liking them. If they came here, I would be keen to go, I have heard they are real interesting live, but as you said, Aussie isnt a really popular destination for them.

As for Muse, they have plenty of time - that would suck if you missed them. Would you think they would play were you were going overseas?

Looking forward to friday when i buy the New Eskimo Joe album. You like them at all?

You've been trying to listen to albums other than In Rainbows??? GOOD LUCK!!! i go through a daily struggle to keep my hands off my radiohead cd's then the struggle continues when i open up my media library. In Rainbows single handedly got me into alternative music.

about muse: i really dont care in what capacity they appear in sydney as long as they are here in the first half of the year but not around christmas cos i wont be here. but they have toured aus twice on their last two tours so i'm not too worried.

i'll get the inevitable radiohead chat out of the way now. have you been a fan for very long? got a favourite album? damn bastards havent been here since 2004!!
