yes, I do prefer the support band (although I love Turin Brakes) but I wasn't aware that I wanted to marry the singer :o - don't know what he looks like yet  After I've seen him I'll decide whether he gets added to my list of future husbands  - it'll take a lot to beat David Dickinson to the top spot though :D
Anyway, just to make my point a bit clearer, I Am Kloot are great!!!! :D :D

hello!!
Well...erm, it was fabby. I cant actually remember all of the setlist. Becasue i'm crap and you'd be better asking janey, but they played all of the ones I wanted them to play. Also, they played hidden tracks, from the new album, which was slightly random. I Am Kloot were brilliant. I really liked them. Me fave was Painkiller, and Feeling Oblivion was beautiful. :D Oh lordy, and there tambourinist is great!! And one of the roadies...wow!!

well i saw them in Bristol on Sunday night and they were magnificent!!
they played all the songs i wanted to hear and both the lads were in top form, playing off each other and making jokes
i was suprised just how atmospheric the music was live - there was a real tension created which was great - you dont find many bands that pull that off
it was a great night and you'll get a piccy on me in my new t-shirt soon :D

What do you think about the new song?
Thank you soooooo much for that link!! OMG, the new song is fantastic! Hehe, "...bloody game" in Stone Thrown. Just doesn't have the power of the original lyric, now does it? The Angel/Joker cover mix at the end was great. Olly doing reggae!
Listening to this just makes me so much more excited (if that's possible) for when I see them live in August and September!

Have you ever seen them live?
I saw them live for the first time few weeks ago, but it was a festival so they played for about 45 minutes and now I hope they will come back in Italy soon to do their own gigs.
Olly's voice is amazing, Gale is great a guitarist...The Angel cover is incredible,i've never expected to hear Olly doing reggae!!!
Are they famous in your country?
Here, in italy, they did well on MTV with pain killer but the rest of their hits aren't as famous as Pain Killer. the next single sounds good for radio, i wish it makes them more famous!!!! they deserve it!!!

This will be my first time seeing them live. Unfortunately, neither time will be a full concert of their own. In August I'll see them open up for David Gray and they're coming back to Austin in September for a music festival. Well, I'm just so happy I get to see them at all!! I've got to plan my strategies of how I'm going to meet them... :D
I really couldn't tell you how much radio play, if any at all, they get over here because I never listen to the radio. I've heard the Pain Killer video is being shown on VH1, but I haven't seen it yet on there. Basically, to answer your question, they are not famous over here in America. Most people wouldn't know what in the world you're talking about if you mentioned Turin Brakes or Olly or Gale's name. A shame, really. The U.S. doesn't know what it's missing out on. They are so incredibly talented. Of course, this is coming from a totally biased point of view! :D

Ooo, the songs you mentioned are some of my favorite from that album! Right now, I'm in love with Ether Song (the actual song). It's such an emotionally beautiful and epic composition.
Check out their first album, The Optimist LP. It's a little more mellow, but it's oh so good!

I'm not a old fan and after I saw them live I realised what I had missed. olly's voice sometimes reminds me to Jeff buckley's voice, is it possible?
Don't make so much strategies to meet them...when I went to see them live I didn't expected to meet someone but actually I did. I have Olly's autograph...while I was at that festival I met him by any chance just because he was watching the show just at my back!!! :o I'm very proud of that autograph!!! :D

AAAHHHH! That's so awesome! Now that's the way to meet them! Did you get to chat with Olly? I never have that kind of spontaneous, out-of-the-blue luck. Nah, the extent of my "strategy" will be to stake out the back of the venue after the show and try to catch them when they come out. It's worked several times for me in the past with other bands. The cool thing is, while I'm sure most people at the David Gray concert will be waiting for him, I've got a feeling my sister and I won't have too much competition over Olly and Gale! Woohoo!
I'm a new fan myself. I discovered TB from reading some threads over at the official Coldplay message board around January of this year. I then watched the 'Underdog' video and immediately became a fan. They're one of my favorite groups now!

;)
Heeeey, how many people who loves Turin Brakes!!
Here they're totally unknown and, sincerely, I've never heard any song of them
But I'm going to see them this summer in England and I would like to download any good song to know them.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, check them out - I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
As with many CD's I get nowadays, it took several listens of The Optimist LP and Ether Song before I came to understand the genius of Turin Brakes. The songs just got better and better every time I played them! I'm hooked for good now... :D
The official site, http://www.turinbrakes.com, has their videos. Maybe you can find the one you thought you saw.

*bump* Olly and Gale are talented gits :D
I'd like to take this thread again just to say that thanks to this thread now I'm a really biiiiiig fan of Turin Brakes. They're really brilliant, I can't stop listening to Ether Song album.
And I'm really happy 'cause I saw them two weekends ago in V-Festival. Their gig was one of the best I've been ever. The most of the people was seeing Foo Fighters and only real fans were there. The crowd was amazing. In their website they say that Stafford gig has been one of the best, yeeeeeah!!!!!
And I met them on the signing tent, they're really nice and sweet (esp. Olly) and he told me they'll come to Spain on tour!! Wooooo-hoooo!! :D
So, thanks to anyone who recommend me their songs 'cause... you're right, maties!!!

I don't remember girls having competitions as to who was the dirtiest when I was your ages. Mores the pity.
Is the Turin Brakes tour this winter acoustic or electric? I had front row seats for the Shep Bush acoustic show last year, incredible.
I'm a bit annoyed though at all these re-releases of albums within a few months of the original release - Libertines, Turin Brakes to name just a few.
I've read in the website that, if you have the 1st release album, you can download the new stuff from there. That's very kind of them...
And I don't know how the tour will be 'cause I won't be there...
