It's been listed on AllAccess.com to be impacting radios on August 6th, a good indicator of it being the next official release from Mylo Xyloto (at least in the States)

What do you guys think? I think it's a great choice for Summer and I can't wait for a music video if we get one!

I think it might not be a full single. In the past, most of the late singles from CP albums have been released to radio only, though some of those did get singles. Still, if true, it's probably one of the better choices from the remaining songs to close out this cycle of singles.

if it does not include MX, well, that's what i find troublesome as well, because this song just jumps into the action right away with the lyrics.
maybe a small intro? just a few chimey rings from MX to lead in?
personally i have a solution in my head :D but there's no point in putting the effort in cutting it with audio editing programs....

As for the video (if there will be one), i would like to have something as the ETIAW-Video,colourful and energetic. This would be a great final for the MX-Era IMO...

^ Actually not that much, some radios like to make theire own radio edit let's say, so I've heard ETIAW whithout the final drum part, Paradise with the last chorus edited to be smaller, so I'm used to it, that's the price you pay when you make 4 minutes songs and try to make them play on the same radio that plays Katy Perry and One Direction 3 minutes music. Alternative ones do play the whole thing though.

Regarding a single edit...I think it would come down to length if the ending were chopped by a bit (the part with the ahhh-ooooooooooooh). MX would make a good intro, I'd say.

I just got back from working in Paris with the amazingly talented Passion Pictures and Fortiche Studio. I was fortunate enough to work with such a seriously talented team. No exaggeration, these guys know their shit… and I miss them already.

So these last couple weeks I was art directing and illustrating the music video which coincides with the comic we are debuting at Comic Con, next Friday. We’re having a panel and a signing that day. Come by and say hello (Friday July 13, 2012 1:00pm - 2:00pm @ Room 23ABC & Signing @ 2:30).

The video is a prologue to the comic. There’s still a lot to do. I’m not exactly sure what I am allowed to show yet, unfortunately. Which is not much, I’m sure :\

I really like how the tweaked the song for the single edit. It sounds clearer and catchier.

Passion Pictures work is rather leaning to a brighter finished and Fortiche is a bit spookier and darker, so that combination might give us interesting results.

I love how much effort our guys putting into this (HLH + Comic) to make it a fun experience for the fans.

I think the Starbucks single IS the single edit. I'll eat my hat if it isn't. I think this comic is just uber awesome, although personally, if coldplay had stuck with the double album idea, they would have fit enough in so that the story of the comic would at least have been passed through correctly.
Even though this is supposed to be the story of the album, i'm still going to stick with boy meets girl, graffiti and japanese rihanna.

If I were coldplay though, i would hold off releasing HLH for now, unless I'd like to be absolutely stomped on by Linkin Park's Lost In the Echo and the next single from Talk That Talk.

In an era when many bands focus on a few standout tracks to base an album on and then surround them with filler, with ‘Hurts Like Heaven’ (which is soon to be released to radio), the British boys prove ‘Xylo’ is deep enough to warrant the string of singles.

Starting with nearly a minute wash of delay-drenched guitars and dreamy synths, ‘Heaven’ seamlessly transforms into a pop ditty, with Will Champion’s steady beat providing the backbone for Jonny Buckland’s tone-bending guitars and Guy Buckland’s melodic bass. Somehow the three of them manage to channel the intro’s atmospherics into a melodic, upbeat groove that recalls My Bloody Valentine‘s dreampop and the Jesus and Mary Chain’s lighter, catchier fare.

“Oh you, use your heart as a weapon / And it hurts like heaven,” Chris Martin sings over all the prettiness. We’re not sure if he purposefully invokes the imagery of ‘Just Like Heaven,’ but purposefully or not, the Cure classic certainly comes to mind. Either way, it’s a fitting reference, as this is as close as Coldplay come to sounding like a ray of sunshine shining on their eternally bummed British brethren.

I've just realised this, and I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but it looks like they've been adding stuff to the graffiti wall since the album was released... As people have noticed, both the POC and HLH artwork are subtly different from their respective sections of the 'original' graffiti wall. Maybe there's some significance to the things they've added or changed, such as the addition of the 'Car Kids' quite clearly on the HLH cover. I may just be over-analysing things as usual though :P

Following the successful collabo with Rihanna, ‘Princess of China,’ Coldplay are issuing yet another single from their multi-platinum album ‘Mylo Xyloto.’ ‘Hurts Like Heaven’ — the track on which Chris Martin sings, “You use your heart as a weapon / And it hurts like Heaven” – will be the next Coldplay single to impact airwaves.

‘Heaven’ is one of the most complex tracks on ‘Mylo Xyloto,’ with intricately-layered backing vocals, pulsing keyboards, and rushing guitar melodies.

Martin speeds up the pace of his delivery when he sings, “On every street, every car, every surface a name / Tonight the streets are ours / And we’re writing and saying / Don’t let them take control / No we won’t let them take control.”

Martin also sings that he’s “armed with a spray can soul,” a line that could have inspired the album’s gritty, graffiti-style artwork.

Coldplay have already scored three Top 20 pop hits from ‘Mylo Xyloto,’ with ‘Princess of China,’ ‘Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,’ and ‘Paradise.’ Their U.S. tour continues through Aug. 11 before they return to Europe.

I went back to the illustrator/art director Alex Fuentes' blog (http://losfokos.tumblr.com/). he has an update as of Aug 1, posted below. He says the video should be completed this (last) week...

So… hey.

It’s official. (http://www.coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=993) A couple weeks ago the band Coldplay announced the project I’ve been working on. It’s basically a comic book mini series telling the story of their main character Mylo Xyloto. Which is also the name their latest album. The mystery behind this peculiar name baffled their fans for quite sometime. Originally the comic was supposed to be an animated film but time was an issue… and so our sequentially illustrated version was born. There is still some talk of the film being made, though.

Mark Osborne, director of the first Kung Fu Panda, is writing the comic, along with script writer Dylan Haggerty. Steve Hamaker, colorist of the classic Bone series, is also on board.

The first 3 issues are done and I am currently working on the 4th. Also in the works is a music video I helped art direct that coincides with this project. That should be wrapped up sometime this week.

The book will be released in Feb, 2013. A small run was sold at Comic Con a few weeks ago and possibly another batch will be available prior to it’s official release. The cover for this pre-release was done by Vladmir Shelest (http://www.e-sh.ru/).

A few weeks ago i already posted that surprisingly HLH was played on our german radio-station (SWR1),i really went like that ->:stunned::stunned::stunned:

As for the video (if there will be one), i would like to have something as the ETIAW-Video,colourful and energetic. This would be a great final for the MX-Era IMO...

I just was thinking the same for the video, with a lot of colour and paint cans, very energetic, also for the radio version I would say that there could be a 10 secs intro (the last 10 from MX)
