Most Diverse CP member?

I'm going to say that our Berryman has the most musical talent, considering he can play a lot of instruments, but that's just my opinion. Any thoughts?

Yeah, Will's got the most talent. About 3 or 4 more instruments as well (not including vocals)
I also think he has a better singing voice. Not necessarily saying he's the better singer

After see them live twice, Guy is the best musician IMO, Chris is the best performer, Will is OK and I think Johnny has been a bit upstage in the last years.

Chris has great writing abilities, Will can play virtually everything and sing, Guy is most advanced in playing his own instrument plus he is a producer, Jonny composes guitar riffs, as I understand, he is great in developing tunes into songs and on early stages of writing.

It's gotta be Guy, with all the activities he's partaking in (within the business, or recreational) they don't exactly all line up... but that's what makes him unique

I'd say Will is by far the most musically diverse member, as he plays tons of instruments (6 in an average show on the MX tour). That said, Guy has the most overall stuff going on, with Apparatjik, his producing, his photography and his investing in antiques, cars, and real estate.

XyloPlay, I think you need to clarify what you were trying to get at with this statement/question.

If you're talking musically within Coldplay, then it's IMO Mr Champion wins this hands down. Haven't seen the others play as many instruments with such enthusiasm as Will does.

However, if you're talking in general, then Chris with his working with other bands and musicians or Guy with his producing, Apparatjik and engineering projects could take home the crown.

Although to counter argue that, do any of us know what Will and Jonny do when they aren't "being Coldplay"? Do they do work with the JVANMARS charity perhaps and we just don't hear about it compared to Guy's many projects?

IMHO Chris' outside projects pale in comparison to Guy's. Guy dabbles in a bit of everything these days, whereas Chris' sidelines are pretty much limited to writing a few songs with/for others, and even that has dropped off a bit over the last couple years. It seems to me like a lot of his "pop" stuff that used to go to others, is now being worked into Coldplay material.

IMO Will Champion is absolutely the most musically talented member. Guy is also very talented as can be seen by his work with other groups and being a producer/writer for other artists' albums. Will can play piano, drum machine, drums, guitar, synth, and he can sing very well too. He can even harmonize with Chris's highest notes which is a feat in itself. He also has a cool beard.

I honestly think that's Eno's influence. One of his trademarks in working with bands has always been pushing them to embrace all their influences, regardless of how they fit their sound, or how daft they may seem. Chris is quite obviously enfatuated with pop music, but he seemed to be a bit embarrassed by it until a few years ago, when he more openly started incorporating it into his Coldplay writing, while at the same time decreasing his outside collaberations.

One thing I'd like to say is I've always loved Chris's timing when he sings. Slightly behind the beat, so it sounds relaxed, but not too much like Bono. I think that's pure talent. I'd still like him to get out of his comfort zone, do something different and genius. I know he can do it.

In many ways, Guy's various "outside" persuits have been the most visable, they're just not all musical in nature. He's becoming something of a jack-of-all-trades (at least in an artistic sense.)

I think Chris' acting in Extras actually diminish his diversity!! sorry!!!!!!!

musically its probably Will, Guy has a lot of well documented interests and Jon, well he supports Spurs which is a job in itself

Good points everyone has. I guess it comes to Will vs. Guy.
Will has a bit more musical talent and creative skills and Guy is more active in the world of music. Chris has the acting skills and humor, and Johnny? Well, he's J, so he's awesome by default :D
