Sky has become the third internet service provider to prevent its users accessing file sharing site The Pirate Bay.

Of course, only now Sky has effectively removed any liability it may have now, or in the future. That's what all this is really about from there end, and you can't really say they're wrong to do it from that perspective.

Considering that the American record industry was trying to sue Limewire for more than the world's GPD (something stupid like 8 Trillion dollars) says something about the outdated business model they are trying to maintain.

It's not about the business model, it's about the pricing structure. If people wanted to receive content on modern platforms and formats, but were willing to pay for it at the same rate they used to pay for physical formats, no one on the content side would have a problem. Granted, there's a huge gulf between what consumers would want, and what the industry wants on that issue, but until people start acknowledging that's the elephant in the room, we're not even having the right conversation.
