Maybe because of the importance of feelings and emotions in the songs ? Maybe girls are less afraid to show they love that about Coldplay.
But maybe I'm wrong.

Funny, because my 24-year-old niece likes Coldplay. But her boyfriend and a friend of his, they love Coldplay even more and are - like me - going to see them in Copenhagen on 28.8. So nice that it is not only females who like Coldplay.

I said most, and in real life (not in the internet) I´ve met more than 5 boys that like Coldplay but usually only the singles or something and just maybe and one girl but only a few songs. I´m saying this because most of the forum members are girls and very few are male. Atleast those who post in the Coldplay section.

I feel because the music is very femenine lol

Probably because of their critics claiming them to be 'whiny', this usually deters guys more than girls. Also, Parachutes was a very quiet, sensitive album, so they established themselves as a quiet, sensitive band, and I bet that gay joke from 40 year old virgin has something to do with it

Coldplay is for both men and women and prefers neither over the other. My friend thinks Chris is gay. I said are you f'ing stupid, he's married to Paltrow. He said it's for the money. I'm like...no. Coming from a Mumford and Sons fan he shouldn't be talked. He hates them lol. And im a guy...im not a fangirl on these forums...although i sometimes act like one when they get mentioned :laugh3:

Because most of the Coldplay members are male . . . no wait, ALL of them are :awesome: Male+Female, fits perfectly, doesn't it? And because their music is quite emotional, I believe that's also a thing loads of females fall for (they're not bad ass/cool enough to appeal to most of the male part of listeners)

Oh well whatever, I'm tired and sick and meh

Tell your friend Chris makes more money than Gwyneth. Also Coldplay could be way richer if they didn't reject advertisement deals. Money definitely has nothing to do with it.

I don't think that's true, most Coldplay fans I know face-to-face are male, the girls usually like the old emotional singles (Shiver, Yellow, Trouble, The Scientist and Fix You) but that's all. But maybe that feeling you have it's because of theire "not cool" fame.

Coldplay are considered to be chick music. I think they're seen as weak because they write sweet songs about feelings and shit.

^ Yeah, but they also write Violet Hill, Politik, Major Minus, Viva La Vida and all those kick ass killing tunes...sad they are known mostly for the light songs

Here in England I definitely wouldn't say they have more female fans. Just recently EVERYONE in this country loves them, and every man and his dog is going to the tour here next your.

He makes more money than her now, but overall I'd bet they're about even, back when she was acting more, she was one of the highest paid actresses in the business. Plus she comes from money so she'd be wealthy even without a lucrative career of her own.

Yes, lets bring Paltvomit to the mixture.
And all of the male fans are like NO NOOOO NOT TRUEEEE.

I don´t see THAT many male members here, and since its internet than its anonymous. They just have this girly vibe but not in a backstreet boys way.. I don´t know.

I really, really, really, really, REALLY don't think Coldplay has considerably more female fans than male. In fact, personally, I know considerably more MALE fans than female, to be honest. I don't think you can really say either way. People who recognize and appreciate TRUE talent love Coldplay, and, just as there are many females and many males in this world who (so sadly) don't recognize and appreciate TRUE talent, there are also (luckily) many who do (like all of us in this beautiful, wonderful world of COLDPLAYING!! :D). Of BOTH gender. :)

Coldplay definitely don't have more female fans than male, at least here in the UK.

I can say that having been to gigs around the country along with seven years of living here and talking to people as a huge fan (before that I was a fan but living abroad).

Most people like them at least :) I think all that "Coldplay are gay" stuff must have been abroad (North American?).

my sister said : Chris Martin is with another woman famous is a man active and just watching concert is a sex symbol and love the women she said. but it also says that all men famous likes to go with other women famous or even groupies. is often for the busness made more money.

I will not discuss with my sister of this, bothers me anyway. and I know nothing of the lives of celebrities.

I can only go by the reported numbers. Their couple networth is estimated at 48 mil pounds whereas each of Chris' bandmates has 32 mil pounds.
Also, I read an interview where Gwyneth said she didn't inherit anything from her parents, not yet anyway. Her dad wanted her to go out and make her own money.

True. However the Times' Rich List (which is where the 32 million figure comes from) is notoriously inaccurate. Since they don't have access to how much money each person actually has, they estimate by using "tangible assets" that are a matter of public record. In Coldplay's case this means that each of the band members is probably ascribed a fourth share in whatever value the Times places on the band as a business entity, plus the band's commonly owned property etc. They're all loaded no doubt, but I'd be surprised if they actually had anything close to that in actual personal wealth.

If you watch concert videos, there's plenty of guys in the audience. I know many male fans, including my husband and son.

Although I already kinda noticed this, it became blatantly obvious in the recent 'Chistmas message to Coldplay' video. There was hardly any guys in it, so when I watched it I was like omg this is so fangirl-y.

I think irl, it's pretty evenly split between guys and girls (at least based on the few concerts I've been to). As far as the proportion who actively post on messageboards though, I agree it's definitely skewed towards chics. For example, there are a few guys I work with that are big Coldplay fans, but they certainly don't bother with messageboards and just keep asking me when Coldplay are going to have a concert here. But is the proportion of girls/guys who post here, is that just because this is a Coldplay messageboard, or does that statistic translate to messageboards across the internet as a whole (regardless of the topic)? For example, my husband visits various messageboards all the time, but never actually posts.

And yeah I agree with you it has nothing to do with Goopy, so for people to bring her up is moot.

Unfortunately that's all we have to go by in absence of a Forbes listing. In your estimation, what do you think the boys' networth is?

1- Females do like to express their feelings about things they love & fing lovable, while males tend to hide their feelings..
2- The band members are all good looking men..:wink3:
3- Girls can organize their time so that there is always some for internet surfing ( not me)
4- Coldplay section doesn't have sport discussions:laugh3:

Coldplay fanpage on FB in Thailand has 45%female fans and 55%male fans.
But most female fans talk and share things while male fans just keep quiet.

Maybe because females are more the type to go out of their way to discuss aspects of the band? Back during the Parachutes / ARoBttH era I think Coldplay were considered a more 'feminine' band, so maybe that's where it comes from?

Just spitballing here.

Well there are definitely more girls on this site. That's probably because girls update their status and post on fora more often than boys. Even on Facebook, twitter etc...
However I've seen pretty much the same amount of boys and girls at Coldplay concerts.
Finally, it can be that there are just more women in the world. I believe that the % is 60% women and 40% men.

I was going to say the same.

Many girls likes emotional music.

At the gig in Oslo, there was a lot of girls. I didn't really saw that many boys. Of cause there was a lot of them there, but there was definitely more girls then boys.
