Do you like Charlie Brown Live or from the Studio better?

I absolutely love the Rock Am Ring version of it. The band totally went off playing that night with Chris adding a few lines of encouragement for the crowd. The studio version is outrageous too but I really like the live recording.

I like both, I've only heard the Roundhouse live version, but they both kick arse!
(Unlike HLH studio version that I prever live)

Live, but I love the slow piano ending on the studio one. Chris tends to rush that live (or he doesn't play it at all).

I've only heard the studio version a few times so far. I think it's better live. I was hoping the studio version was as energetic as the live version. I love the piano outra on the CD version as well. He forgot it or missed it during the KROQ performance and it seemed rushed on the today show. Overall I think it's one of Coldplay's best songs.

I don't know if it's just that i've over played the song but i feel no emotion in the studio version

Very true.
Chris sings the verses slightly different live and of course the "Light a fire" choir is sung more passionately live.

Certainly the live version - the studio version holds back some of the energy that the song just oozes live.

Both are great.
Like that there are subtle differences in the studio version which makes it feel like you're listening it for the first time.

i like both but is it just me or in the studio version you can barely hear the "I" in the first line "I stole a key"? it's been bugging me since i first heard it!

I'm torn on this one.
The live version, I can feel more guitar and I die for that part.
The studio, I can feel more Xylo and it's freaking amazing.
I can't choose. They kinda feel like 2 very very very very very awesome songs

Live, definitely. The studio is good, the only real problem I have with it is that there's no bass in the Light a Fire chorus, which is so loud and passionate live. Saddening. :(

I think I prefer the live version due to the better energy during the 'light a fire...' bit.

I'm actually now imagining Will playing the accordion while pounding the bass drum with his foot. :laugh3:

I agree. They're both great.
I think they're both quite boring, actually. When I hear a new song there has to be something about it that makes me want to listen to to it again, and I heard Charlie Brown it didn't leave any impression on me.

YES! I thought it was only me...
