Good afternoon. It's just been announced that Coldplay will launch KROQ's new Red Bull Sound Space with a live performance for the LA radio station on Tuesday, 18 October.

The show will be webcast worldwide via USTREAM. Southern California fans can listen live on 106.7FM KROQ, while the rest of us can view the globally streamed webcast via www.kroq.com/soundspace and www.redbullusa.com/soundspace. 1. HOW TO ENTER

a. These rules govern the KROQ: Kevin & Beans Breakfast with Coldplay promotion (the “Promotion”) being conducted by KROQ (the “Station”) beginning at 6:00 am Pacific Time (“PT”) on October 10, 2011 and ending at 5:00 pm PT on October 14, 2011.

b. To participate in the Promotion, you may enter via the following method(s): Listen to KROQ starting at 6:00 am PT on October 10, 2011 and ending at 5:00 pm PT on October 14, 2011 and call the KROQ request lines when upon hearing the cue to call. The 20th caller, as announced on-air to 1-800-520-1067 will win a Prize, a pair of passes to Kevin & Bean’s Breakfast with Coldplay at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ on October 18, 2011, upon confirmation of eligibility. At the time of their call, callers will be required to provide all information requested including their full name, complete address (including zip code), day and evening phone numbers and date of birth in order to be eligible to win. In the event that the selected caller is disconnected or is found to be ineligible, the next eligible caller that successfully makes it through on the call-in line and completes their call will be a winner. There is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to call in to win, but a listener may be a winner only once. There will be up to a total of twenty-five (25) Prize winners selected on-air during the Promotion dates. The Station is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her telephone call. Due to delays in the KROQ online streaming of its broadcast signal, listeners to the online stream may not be able to participate in or may be disadvantaged in participating in on-air contests.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

a. The Promotion is open to all KROQ listeners who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the State of California. Employees of the Station, its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win.

b. Listeners are eligible to win a prize valued at $50 or more or event tickets valued at $100 or more from KROQ-FM only once every thirty (30) days, and listeners are eligible to win a prize in a Promotion conducted by the Station only once every sixty (60) days if the prize is valued over $600 and only once per year if prize is valued over $1,000. Only one winner per household is permitted in any Station promotion.

c. In order to participate in the promotion, participants must have a valid driver’s license, state identification card, military identification card, or valid passport; complete all entry forms and questionnaires, and sign a liability, publicity and participant release form when submitting their entry and/or prior to being selected.

3. PRIZES

a. Twenty-five (25) Prizes will be awarded. Each Prize is two (2) passes to Kevin & Bean’s Breakfast with Coldplay on October 18, 2011 at the Red Bull Sound Space at KROQ. The Approximate Retail Value of each Prize is $PRICELESS. The winner will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses not specified herein associated with the receipt and use of the Prize.

b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Station at the address below. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.

c. There is no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prizes, except that the Station may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes or cash of comparable value. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and unless otherwise expressly specified, do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.

4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

a. Decisions of the Station management with respect to the Promotion are final.

b. Twenty-five (25) winners will be selected on-air, as described in Section 1 of these Official Promotion Rules.

c. Odds of winning a Prize depend on the order and number of calls received.

d. Prize winners must listen to the Station to win, but do not be present to win.

e. The winner must execute and return any required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within five (5) days of winning or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at random from all remaining eligible qualifiers. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit of eligibility and/or liability/publicity release within the required time period, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner forfeits the prize.

William Shatner was a guest on the show and he read lyrics to each caller and all they had to do was identify the damn song. Only 2 out of the 5 got them, and they were Yellow, Clocks, Trouble, ETIAW, and Fix You. Then they drew a winner out of the 2 who got them correct. I was dying...because all I got was a busy signal. They said they did this so the tickets would go to a "real" fan. Grrrr...

I got stuck next to some radio contest winners at the ACL taping and it was a pretty miserable experience! :(

While I didn't expect them to know all the new songs...say like some of the more enthused :wink3:, at least know the names of their "greatest hits" -- especially if you plan to yell them out on camera! :facepalm:

It was "Wheel of Celebrity Voices," where Ralph (their impressions guy) sang or spoke Coldplay lyrics as different people or bands, one was as Justin Bieber, another was as Mumford and Sons (very, very funny!). Again, only three people got the answer right, and the poor girl who knew "Death and All his Friends" (all the rest were popular singles) didn't even win. I was on my way to work, so, no chance to call there. Sigh (I got them all right).

I haven't tried calling in for this contest, but if it's anything like the previous KROQ call-ins I've tried (pretty much all of them require you to be Caller 20), immediately re-dial if you get a busy signal. I've gotten like Caller 14 on my 3rd call, for example. If you don't get through in like 8 attempts, I'd say they've picked a winner by that point.

Yes! I just dial. I was using 2 phones and I had the number ready to dial. They do the contests right when whatever song they play that ends at noon, 3 or 6. If I get a busy, just hit redial 7-8-9 times. All that plus a lot of finger crossing. I'm still in shock. 60-80 people in the audience. A far cry from the 30,000 who were behind us at Austin City Limits last month! KROQ has been good to me. I won meet and greet tix from them 2 years ago :)

They asked a guy the questions first, and he got them all. Then they asked a girl, and she didn't know very many. MUCH easier than the backwards song titles :( I was on hold the whole time waiting for them to get to me and they didn't. I asked the girl on the phone when they were doing the drawing from the online contest, and she didn't know. So now I wait for noon to come and try calling again. So far, I've been caller 15, 17 and last night my husband was 19. They always look for caller 20.

I VERY much enjoyed that! It's such a creeper thing to say, but I love watching them off camera, just goofing off and interacting. Chris is SO good with fans, I mean they all are, but he stood there for so long and made sure he signed everything he could reach. Thought it was sweet he hung that gift someone gave him off his piano too :nice:

They were very funny and easy and natural, was lovely to see. Still can't abide Para Para in any format at all, but ETIAW did its job as a closer well enough. Charlie Brown was the stand out though. 100%/. Excellent.

First, Chris is left handed? didn't remember that - awesome of them to sign autographs - it is really cool seeing what they do between breaks - it looked jonny's guitar was having problems right before they started playing Fix You - btw, is there a transcription of what Chris plays on the organ during the live shows - was trying to watch what he was doing - would love to play the song like he does to see how it sounds. Also, Guy on keyboards for ETIAW was cool.

One last thing - ETIAW is a great song and will be a classic despite all the hate directed toward it. It's such a exhilarating song - ecstatic, euphoric - especially with the buildup and the lyrical melody. Beautiful - great interview and great set.

I'm hitting Colbert Report tomorrow, hopefully we get at least 3 or 4 songs - they played the Daily Show before and think they played at least 3 songs.

It is so good to see the boys in these intimate sets. Actually, it makes me pretty nostalgic that they didn't finish the acoustic record idea. Fix You still gives me chills after many years. The interview was nice, but I think there was too much repetition with the CBS Sunday TV interview. And I didn't like the hosts. Anyhow, the boys are back, they are in great shape and it is so nice to see them so happy after all these years. We are indeed very lucky fans because this is one of the greatest bands in history.

I thought it was great!!!!!!!! Loved when Johnny spoke(for he so rarely does), The Guy bath thing, Kung Fu Panda, and I really loved Chris' f-bomb. I love it when he cusses, it makes him more human!! :D:laugh3: ..Seriously, it was a great set, great show.
