Yeah...hopefully that's not the case this time. But on the VLV tour (apart from the various small free/charity gigs they did) there was no standing until they did the stadium/outdoor arena tour in 2009.

Well they did. They used to send out assistants into the nosebleed sections and upgrade fans who answered a series of questions correctly to the front row. Which was nice of them, but annoying for those of us a few rows back :P

I think they will for what it's worth. Last time they played the O2, they did 3 nights. Hopefully the second date (if there is one) will be announced fairly early Friday so I can do other things rather then sit in front of my PC!!!!

I think I've worked out the pricing, but am not familiar enough with the O2 to know if the seating would be the same as Manchester.

having thoroughly browsed ticketmaster, I think the £47.50 are the standing tickets and the seats are £55 & £65.
the 2 MEN ticket pages are split into 1 with ticket prices at £47.50 & 1 with £55 & £65. which tallys with the 2 SECC pages which are labelled as Seated & Standing accordingly.
therefore I'd suggest £55 is upper tier and £65 lower tier seats.

On Monday, Coldplay announced that they would undertake three rare performances this December:


Dec 3, Glasgow SECC
Dec 4, Manchester MEN

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9.30am but viagogo predicts that tickets will sell out in three minutes.

In 2009, Coldplay played just three stadium dates and sold out Wembley in just two minutes and in 2005, Coldplay's five date tour sold out in twenty minutes. Coldplay was the number one band search term post festival season this year ' moving up 20 places prior to the start of festival season in June, and after being voted top festival headliner by BBC6 Music this week, viagogo predicts that fans will see overwhelming competition for tickets, with just over 50,000 tickets going on sale.

I got on right when it became available, and picked two seats, best available, and got (and purchased) two standing tickets. :)

I did keep searching to see what seated tickets came up, and nothing really good. I did get a single ticket in Section 101 at one point, but it was looking at the side of the stage.

I'll check again on the general sale to see if any really good lower tier seats come up... otherwise, totally happy with the standing tix, as that is a totally different and fun experience!

I just phoned ticketmaster and the best they can give me today is upper tier I asked them if the whole stadium would be released tomorrow and he said yes, standing, lower tier and upper tier. They only release some tickets on pre sale. I did say I dont think your website is working as I was on since 9:30 this morning and straight away said tickets unavailable.

Gonna try tomorrow but Im gonna ring up at like 9:15 and remain on hold until 9:30 but also try online just incase I get them quicker!

Maybe because the O2 is a seating and standing venue on the floor they tally up the amount of people that they're selling the standing by way of seats and rows? Because obviously that's how they track capacity...?

I got on right when it became available, and picked two seats, best available, and got (and purchased) two standing tickets. :)

I did keep searching to see what seated tickets came up, and nothing really good. I did get a single ticket in Section 101 at one point, but it was looking at the side of the stage.

I'll check again on the general sale to see if any really good lower tier seats come up... otherwise, totally happy with the standing tix, as that is a totally different and fun experience!

Nope, this time there is standing. And you've got standing, they've just tabbed it to be 'seat section' with a row and seat number to keep a track on the amount of people they're selling to. (It's a couple of posts back)

And I have a very similar thing happening, but not with Coldplay. The day Kasabian are coming to Brighton the same night I'm going to Birmingham to see The Drums. So I'm going to have to go to London to see Kasabian instead even when they're local to me. It's funny in an unfunny way.

OMG, wtf... the o2 Priority site was busy from 9:20 but I had no trouble with TM. Selected the ticket gone straight through but then I entered incorrectly the verified by visa password and my card was blocked and I couldn't finished the payment :stunned: so I had to call the card agency to reset it. All tickets were gone at this time but I was lucky that the o2 website was back online so got my standing ticket around 9:50... puh :rolleyes:

^I had a massive issue with the o2 site too! I expected them to have resolved the traffic issue after their Foo Fighters pre-sale chaos.

Normally I have problems with Ticketmaster, but it was much easier this time around.


And RE: show length... I think curfew at the o2 is 11pm (that's the curfew for most events)

That "Verified by Visa" thing happened to me buying tickets on Ticketmaster U.S. before... it comes up then glitched out, and I lost my tix in my cart.

I found at that time that Mozilla Firefox just wouldn't work, but MS IE would...

I totally forgot about that last night until I got to the "Verified by Visa" stage checking out with these Coldplay tickets, and I thought "nooooooo..." Luckily, it worked for me this time though.

I would recommend to anyone trying to buy tix on Ticketmaster to not use Firefox. And I'll have to remember that myself next time too... :lol: Just not worth the risk.

I am planning to try for one disabled, and one carer ticket tomorrow morning, as I might well be away for the obvious spring tour, I expect the spring tour to be a full scale (20-25) arena shows, and then a uk summer stadium tour too, I plan to see them at least twice during this tour, I may have a decision to make nearer the time if I am successful tomorrow morning, as I have also booked Kasabian for December 15, as I got fed up of waiting for these guys to announce something, well if it comes to that my decision is easy COLDPLAY all the way, as long as the weather is not too horrible, as I live in Surrey.

Actually, it remains to be seen what the actual tickets look like, but the online purchase order details show a seat and row number. I think that there is a good chance that the tickets won't reflect that though, as seat and row number didn't show up at all during the checkout process when buying the tickets, and from what others had said after talking to Ticketmaster, I think it would just be confusing since they are "standing" tickets.

Having said all that, you'd think Ticketmaster would have a more straight forward system for selling and identifying tickets, since, you know, that is their business. ;)

You might have better luck going for just one standing ticket, as you might risk getting none if you go for two - the Paris open sale went way quicker than the pre-sale yesterday...

I did manage to get 2 tickets in block 105 from StarGreen, but gave up on them. I need to get 4 (so i'm trying to get 2 pairs from different websites). Why have the put a limit of only 2 tickets?!

they've limited to 2 because what a lot of people were doing was buying 4, keeping two and selling the other 2 on eBay for double to give them (effectively) a pair of free tickets.
