Ever since they mentioned the name, I've been in love with the title :D , but I don't hear to much love for the song (based on the title) Surely I'm not the only one. :confused:

I'm definitely psyhced for this song, especially as it's the last track- and Coldplay's last tracks have never been short of epic!
Everything's Not Lost=Classic,
Amsterdam=Classic,
Twisted Logic=Epic (in album's context, not including Til Kingdom Come), DAAHF/Escapist= Perfect match of epic high and beautiful comedown.
So yeah, I'm pretty excited too!

Sweet, so I'm not the only one, but still just the two of us is sad. I feel there should be way more support for the song

I've loved the title since it was announced back earlier this year. If Coldplay's past four album closers are anything to show for, I have high expectations for Up With The Birds.

Same, it was my favorite title to hear when they mentioned it along with Hurts Like Heaven and I think Every Teardrop, but I wasn't happy to hear that it credits Leonard Cohen for whatever reason...

I know right? Leonard Cohens "Sample" better be small :angry:

I'm pretty excited for this song, especially since Coldplay's closing tracks are always among the best on the album :wacky:
But Up With the Birds has a lot to live up to since Death And All His Friends and The Escapist

So true!!, same with their openers, and so far I love Hurts like heaven (one of the only tracks I truly love from this era so far). So I have high hopes for Up with the Birds

I heard in a review written by someone who got to listen to the whole album said up with the birds was a perfect closer for the album and it was a "burning of the torch" sort of song. so itll probably be like life is for living or till kingdom come. just hope lyrics are little more...flavorful, Im not complaining Im still pumped for oct. 24th or when it leaks (ill still buy it but cant wait that long) but lyrics arent as strong as previous albums which is to be expected since lyric writting is one of the hardest things to do

^ Coldplay's finale tracks are always among the best on their respective albums, so I have high expectations for Up With the Birds :wacky:
Everything's Not Lost / Life Is for Living ---> Yes.
Amsterdam ---> Oh heck yes.
Twisted Logic / 'Til Kingdom Come ---> :nod:
Death and All His Friends / The Escapist ---> do I even need to say anything? :dazzled:
Twisted Logic >>>>>>>> Til' Kingdom Come

Betting this is instrumental. If there is only 45 minutes on the album, then there is 12 minutes remaining for the 5 songs we haven't heard. I bet three of these are instrumental (under 2 minutes).
I think Up with the Birds is going to be instrumental because it would just sound right. If the album stars off with MX (like Life in Technicolour) then I bet it will end with a little instrument send off. (Like Death and All of his Friends did).
I am going to be dissepointed if this is true, and I have a good feeling it is.

Don't know why but I think that this song will have an "etheral" feel :shrug:

This track should be a very intense, or sad, or even happy one. It's the closing track for the album, so it will probably be the best

I became very excited, I think it will be another great closer. If I read this it reminds me of Amsterdam, but with violins.
Up With The Birds
Well, not really no, because final song Up With The Birds avoids the clichéd overblown ending, its brilliance, like much of Mylo Xyloto, hidden within the places the songs don't go. "The birds, they sang at break of day/Start again, I hear them say" sings Chris Martin over stark piano chords at the beginning, before an almost overwhelming burst of strings come to the fore. Then, the whole thing stops and starts again, before strummed acoustic guitars and gentle, almost lackadaisically-played drums usher the album to a peaceful, calming close.

Yeah I am also excited for this song solely because of the title :D. I feel like it is going to be one of those slow mellow songs like The Scientist of Fix You :)

"The birds, they sang at break of day/Start again, I hear them say" are lyrics from Leonard Cohen's song Anthem; I'm curious if he contributed anything else to the song or if that's the only reason why he's listed as a writer.
