How long is the song MX?
Is it just the little intro?

I fully expect MX to be a full song w/ lyrics too.

I think it's just the little xylophone part we hear before Hurts Like Heaven at the festivals, hence Hurts Like Heaven/ MX.

I think the Oracle said it was a full song with lyrics.

For the BILLIONTH TIME, according to the PRS database some months ago, Mylo Xyloto is a full 3:30 minutes song, very probably with lyrics :freak:, so OBVIOUSLY, MX is merged with Hurts Like Heaven.

What part of that you don't understand? :freak:

I think it is what we have heard.

Although it may be a Life In Technicolor situation where there are lyrics for it and it's technically a full song, I have a feeling the version on the album will be a (slightly longer) instrumental lead-in to HLH.

MX is NOT merged with Hurts Like Heaven, (see official tracklisting) MX is it's own song.
FYI, It would be "What part of that don't you understand?" not "What part of that you don't understand?" No offense :), just trying to be helpful

I need this to be a full length track, with lyrics!

The little 42 second intro to HLH they've been playing is my fave piece of music this band have given us in a bloody long time. It's so joyous and uplifting, I need it to be just a snippet of a full song.

I havn't disliked any of the new songs we've heard so far (though still warming to UATW and UIF) so I know I'm going to love this album, but if Mylo Xyloto is a full length track, judging by the into we've been hearing it's going to go down as an all time fave for me.

^ just in case I come across as only a fan of CP's new material, when I say best piece of music from them for me I mean since the outro of Politik. Both of these take me to another place, albeit evoking different emotions, but that's what makes MX so amazing!

Aw man, I wish it was longer and had lyrics. The music we heard from Mylo Xyloto sounds amazing. Hopefully they can come up with a Mylo Xyloto ii like Life in Technicolor.

So this will be the second album in the band's discography that had the album title's song as a short snippet. Parachutes was the only other one to have a short song.

Despite even what was going around about MX being a longer track... I just couldn't see that melody panned-out across an entire song. Maybe if it were a segment or something... but I'm okay with this. :)

Guys, with all due respect to the person who wrote that review, I wouldn't call it "confirmed". I'm not 100% sure that was even real, especially because the oracle strongly implied MX was quite a bit longer than the snippet they play live.

No she didn't.

I asked a question asking for clarification on this actually and she never answered it.

She seemed to imply it was longer but I have a feeling that she didn't mean to imply this.

It's a normal thing to start a modern album with a short instrumental. It's called "Intro" in most of the albums, but it can have other names too. Actually I think it's genial.

the official lengths of all the songs on MX are on the allmusic website/wiki.
MORE IMPORTANTLY... Has anyone noticed - and I think I'm right in saying this - that if you say the syllables "My-lo-xy-lo-to" at the same time as each Xylophone strike in Mylo Xyloto, it fits perfectly into each bar... That's hard to explain, anyone know what I mean though? If so, is it a coincidence??

Is it like:
Myyyyyyy-loooooooooo xy(fast)-lo(fast)-to(fast)
Myyyyyyy-loooooooooo xy(fast)-lo(fast)-to(fast)
Myyyyyyy-loooooooooo xy(fast)-lo(fast)-to(fast)
Myyyyyyy-loooooooooo xy(fast)-lo(fast)-to(fast)

?
It's very nice. I've never noticed that

It wont sound exactly like it does on the festivals because MX and HLH obvously two seperate tracks. However it seems like it wont be a full song. According to allmusic (http://www.allmusic.com/album/mylo-xyloto-r2272103) MX is 42 seconds and the overall length is between 44 and 45 minutes. That makes sense, doesn't it?

I really hope MX will be a full track, but after this, I doubt it.
