I think like Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, the Coldplay version is good but the creativity and imagination from the covers will always make them seem better. Like Emeli Sande's version of Every Teardrop.

I thought it was wonderful....well, except for those cheesy piano slides. Ugh. Take those out and it's perfectly gorgeous.

Robert, this is a good cover in its own right and you are a skillful pianist, but I'd really like you to do a second one, because the song deserves it and you have the technical abilities for it. First, the glissandi need to go, they're rather cheesy and it adds a nervousness to the song which doesn't do it justice. Then, you should concentrate on the instrumental opening of the song, which clearly is a majestic masterpiece of Brian Eno with rather subtle changes between major and minor chords. Martins refrain (para para paradise), well, it kind of ruins the song. Could you make a more mysterious, darker, gloomier version of the song, focus some more on complex chords rather than hop over the keys and focus on the subtleties of the intro and the orchestrated parts? That would be ever so lovely and perhaps, it would make people appreciate this song a bit more. I'm looking forward to this.

About the second cover, I am atm busy with some other projects, but if my clip gets a lot of views, I will definitely make a second cover, but probably from one or 2 other coldplay songs, because that would be more fun for me :)

Ooo....adored this one! It's simple...not a lot of fill inbetween notes, but he really captures that driving bass with his octaves in the left hand! Really, really loved it!


@RobertPeetersPiano - I loved your version, too! I shouldn't have added that "ugh" part. It was rude of me. If you like the piano slides then you should keep them. They just aren't my style. :)


ETA: The guy/guitar cover.....*sigh*.....he says its off their 4th coming album. Why are people getting this confused. Even Letterman announced it was off their 4th coming album! It's their FIFTH album, people! Geez!

(CBS) - I'm a huge fan of the The Piano Guys and their grand-scale performances and re-imaginings of music. This latest video of theirs pays tribute to a contemporary band you may have heard of by the name of Coldplay.

We last featured The Piano Guys here on The Feed for their Star Wars-inspired performance entitled "Cello Wars," and this most recent one includes them along with the new addition of Alex Boye on vocals. They write about their latest work:

Each time we write/arrange a tune we take a journey. We have to admit this journey took us a lot further than we expected. Retracing our steps reveals several factors that made this a reality. As we started arranging it we had serious writer's block. Perhaps some of the worst we've ever had. In fact, one day instead of writing we went around the entire studio with a can of WD-40 and coated every piece of metal to ensure that we were a squeak-free studio. Then on a whim we decided to back away and take an entirely new approach to the song an African approach. It may seem random in retrospect, but at the time it was an exciting way to restart the arrangement. It was working, but our journey still was on foot until we called in Alex Boye, one of the most talented people we've ever met. Alex has this contagious energy that gave new life to the song and to us. He sings the tune in 4 different languages: Swahili, English, Yoruba (his mother's native language), and Alex's own African "scat" (we'll call it...Scafrican) =) Most of the words you hear are translated from the lyrics in the original Coldplay Tune. We're huge fans of Alex -- We bet you are now too!

Bravo on yet another amazing performance - we here at The Feed continue to love The Piano Guys and are definitely now fans of Alex Boye, too!

Wow, some GREAT covers here. I've been a fan of the Piano Guys' version for a long time, if for no other reason than the sheer EPICNESS of it. I mean, airlifting a grand piano on to a cliff? Pretty insane.

In Music Tech I was able to create my own studio recording and I chose to cover 'Paradise' by Coldplay. This isn't the track I submitted to the exam board, this is a better and we've mixed it to be quite big and loud.
