I seen a brilliant post whilst the home was down on coldplay.com, I just what was the soundtrack to your lives, below. I have written a few about myself. Its just a few songs that was the soundtrack at the time in my life from early youth to almost present day.

This also shows how my musicial tastes have changed over the years.

It would also be very intresting to see others.
Soundtracks to my life.

I would have to start with my early youth, I would say before I could identify tunes, but now I remember who they were was by sound.

Pre 1980 ABBA Money, Money This tune and I am unsure whether it is the right tune, this to my ears at the time reminded me of the trip to the post office with my Mum on a Monday morning as I knew after, the visit I was likely to get some money to get some sweets.

December 1982 Musical Youth - Pass the Duthee This was my very first single that I owned, this was brought for me and it seemed to sum up local struggles for 2nd and 3rd generation migrants from the commonwealth.

First heard and identified summer 1986 Queen -Bohemian Rhapsody My first proper self discovery of a tune- This did remind me of my pre teen age, and going into my teens. The line of doesn't really matter to me, this lead for me getting into queen in a Massive way as result they are one of me all time favourite bands.

Summer 1991 KLF- 3am Entertenal - (From the White Room Album) This tune, was the soundtrack to my best summer ever from when I left school and all the freedoms that came with it. The album itself, knows no boundaries it is truly great, it shaped my musical tastes for the next decade. It also led to me buying ever my first album, if you ever want to listen to some early fat boy slim stuff this album was co produced by the man, which has proved his master class over the years.

Summer 1995 Metalheadz featuring Alex Recce -Pulp Fiction. If anyone knows there Drum and Bass, this is all time classic. This tune would some up my clubbing days. Anytime this tune is played in a club or at a rave, all the crowd need to hear is the first 2 beats of the tune and believe me you will see the place go crazy.

Spring 1999 Massive Attack - The Man Next Door -(From Mezzane Album) This was a tune of which so true to my life at the time, a next neighbour started playing the tune. The Bass Line of the tune with the awesome voice of their lead singer at the time made this tune sound absolutely excellent. I went on to purchase the Album and, still has a very proud place in my CD collection.

Winter 2000 Travis - Why does it rain on me. This tune seemed to some up, what bad luck I was having at the time however it also gave me hope as well. It was also a showing my musical tastes were slowly but surely going to me more influenced my the souly type Indy music I was beginning to get into.

Summer 2000 Policean (moby play) This Album was like a end of the hardship I suffered and a new direction for a new start in a career also it supported further evidence of my direction in life. Listen to this album in a walkman, when you on that Saturday morning shop, it will make all the chaos that is often associated with it go away,

Summer 2001 Another Chance ( Roger Sanchez) this tune was like a soundtrack to a day when, someone who I previously been in love with affirmed a friend ship where we ended up being the best of mates.

Autumn 2001 Trouble (Coldplay) Do I need to express words, about this song. I think it must have been a soundtrack to many, this tune was always played by myself when I went to the pub. (I knew I was on to a good thing, when the bar staff used to turn it up) I did not know at the time, this band would shape the sound track to the next major episode of my lie.

Summer 2002 The Scientist (Coldplay) This summed up, what was one of my biggest regrets at the time of not showing someone how I felt about them. It was a pity as well, as we are so passionate about coldplay no words could ever be written to justify the passion.

Winter 2003 Time is running out (MUSE) This song helped me get over in the end with the one that I never showed how I felt, it seems to be one of those songs that helps you get over it. When you like someone in a way, but you tell em, but they don't tell you. All you can do is move on, well all I can say is 'her time has run out'.

AWESOME idea. All your lists are great. I especially love the idea of having Sigur Ros and Nick Drake back-to-back.

My list is based off of my favorite song for each year. 21 tracks, in chronological order. So basically track 3 was my favorite song when I was 3 and so-forth.

1) Journey - Don’t Stop Believing (My dad would play Journey’s Escape album while I was in my bassinet, since this was the opening track, I probably heard this song the most. I can actually hear the influence in my own music.)

2) Talk Talk - Its My Life (When I was a baby, I used to crawl over to the TV when this song would come on MTV. It was my favorite video. For those too young to remember, this is the song that No Doubt currently has a hit cover of)

3) Michael Jackson - Beat It (I used to sing this in the bathtub)

4) The Beatles - Rocky Raccoon (my dad used to sing this to me when he'd tuck me in at night. It was the closest thing to a lullaby that he knew. Good song choice, i love this song)

5) Don Henley - Boys of Summer (I remember few songs in my childhood, but I remember this song vividly. I hear it today just as I heard it as a kid.)

6) The Wiz Soundtrack - Ease On Down the Road (my dad had this album on vinyl, and I used to get it out and look for this song.)

7) Chuck Mangione - Feels So Good (This made me want to learn trumpet, even though Chuck is a Bugle player. I used to get this record out and play it over the stereo and sit outside listening to it, even when my friends were over. They werent interested in jazz. Of course it wasnt normal for a kid my age to be listening to jazz. I wondered why no one else wanted to listen to it.)

8) Manheim Steamroller - Deck the Halls (Ok, I dont know... I remember listening to this on an airplane ride to Virginia for Christmas. Airplane radio stations didnt have much back then so after a few songs, the song would play again and I'd listen to it again . Then on New Years we went to Busch Gardens in Tampa and I heard it again in the park muzak. my dad also played that album to death, my mom hates it to this day. I didnt really listen to music during this time, so this had to have an effect, since I heard it a whole bunch of times that Christmas.

9) Ren and Stimpy - Happy Happy, Joy Joy (I was OBSESSED with Ren and Stimpy. I had the dolls, the comforter for my bed, posters on the wall, and the musical cassette tapes. I used to re-enact scenes from episodes. This song brought out the musically silly side in me, and paved the way for the next artist on my list to come into my life.)

10) Weird Al Yankovic - Fat (My weird al craze started when I heard this song for the first time. I bought most of his albums and listened to them ALL THE TIME. I even included his songs as soundtrack music to the movies my friend and I would make with our action figures. I even made mix tapes of my favorite of his songs and I used to plot out carefully what order I would put them in. Other than the next three songs, Weird Al was all that I listened to.)

11) Commodores - Brick House (When i was eleven, I remember going to a lock-in with my friend Andrew and I heard this song for the first time in the car on the way over to wherever the lock-in was. We played the song on REPEAT over and over again, just waiting for the "shake it down" part to come around. At that time we'd go insane and literally "shake it down." I can just see myself as a kid looking like I'm having a seizure.... or coming in contact with a taser.)

12) Arrested Development - Mr. Wendel (my first non-Weird al album i bought was Arrested Development and featured this song. I heard it when Star 94 became a popular radio station and used to listen to it all the time when it came on the radio. When I got tired of listening to all the other songs they played, waiting for Mr. Wendel to play again, I decided to get the album so that I could listen to it whenever I wanted to.)

13) Jars of Clay - Flood (When i had a youth group stay at my house for a few days, the leader gave us a bunch of CDs, and he gave me a limited edition Jars of Clay album. I listened to Flood and it was my favorite song at the time.)

14) Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (Breaking my Weird Al streak was none other than Led Zeppelin 4. I borrowed it from my dad and have yet to give it back to him. Stairway to Heaven became my favorite song for years. It made me want to pick up the guitar, and it was the first song I learned. I spent hours in the basement with the CD in the computer, looping parts of the song until I found the right notes on the neck. I couldnt read music, so I had to learn by ear. Then a couple years later, i was introduced to the internet and guitar tabs. I practiced until a year later, I had learned the song up to speed.)

15) Weezer - Only In Dreams (Weezer Broke in during tenth grade and i got HOOKED. I learned all the songs on guitar and even watched bootleg videos. This song was my favorite. I noticed at this point that long, epic songs were my favorites.)

16) Tonic - Soldier's Daughter (I dunno what made me want to buy the Tonic album, but when I did, I loved it and I was my favorite album for about four years. This was my favorite song off of the album, and still is my favorite song by them. I even learned a few years later as one of my few cover songs)

17) Jump, Little Children - Close Your Eyes (The J,LC invasion started when I was a senior in highschool. I heard a couple people mention them, and heard them once, but didnt remember it at all. When i was at the music store, I saw the album "Magazine" and decided to buy it without knowing what they sounded like. They became my favorite band and are currently one of my biggest influences)

18) Ben Folds Five - Magic (Ben Folds Five came when I was 15, and for Christmas I couldnt decide whether to get Ben Folds Five or (dont laugh) Master P. I made the right choice and it became one of my most played albums ever. This song made the biggest impact on me seeing as how I was a hopeless romantic at the time and this was one of my favorite love songs.)

19) Travis - Why Does it Always Rain On Me? (Travis made a huge impact on me during this time, since I didnt really listen to anything at this point in my life. I focused on writing, and with that came no desire to listen to anything else. Travis, however was something I couldnt refuse. "Why Does it Always Rain On Me" was and is in my short list of favorite songs of all time.)

20) Sigur Ros - ( ) - Track 8 (for Christmas I got this album from my sister. and at 5 in the morning decided that I'd rather listen to it than go to sleep (we had to get up an hour and a half later to go on vacation) I was mesmerized by the music and when track 8 came around, i was on a high that made me forget that I had to sleep. It is currently still my favorite album)

21) Rufus Wainwright - Poses (I had this melody in my head and it was bugging me to death, I had no idea what it was, but it was one of the best vocal lines I'd ever heard. I searched and gave up eventually. Then Ceara was playing this album and this song came on. It sounded familiar, but I knew exactly what it was as soon as the chorus came around, it was what I had stuck in my head the whole time. It became one of my favorite songs, and Rufus Wainwright became one of my biggest influences and I listened to his music all the time.)
