What do you people think of Ninch Inch Nails? I heard the song "Closer" the other day, and I liked it.
I know that Johnny Cash likes them, because he did a cover of the song Hurt.
i know one of their songs *the perfect drug* it was alright but i wouldn't be mad about it!!! :) :dozey:

Oh yea, and my favorite song is Somewhat Damaged.

I know, since this is a Coldplay board, I probably won't get a lot of people talking here.
But any fans of Nine Inch Nails? they are my new favorite band. Somewhat Damaged is an amazing tune. The layers keep on building and building in that song. I love it.

NIN... THE BAND who influenced Axl Rose change the sound of GN'R. Hey do you know, ex-NIN guitar, Robin Finck, now is the guitarist of GN'R.
I like some their song.

And Reznor is the King of layering music together.

i didnt know thats what nine inch nails stood for
but dont they sing that one song...

Jacob

La Mer is one of the only songs i've actually listened to by them.., and it's lovely...lots of clashing notes which shouldn't go together, but somehow do. The Song reminds me of my 2nd year of college.(incase ANYONE wanted to know :/ )

Yea, new album is still growing on me. Was hoping for some of the rawness and flow from pretty hate or broken.
Seems bands make their best music in the latter part of their teen angst or drug induced hazes. That said, NIN is will always bel one of my fav's. Can't wait to see them again.

Hey Ren!
I love NIN. I'll say "The Fragile" is my favourite album. I've 'previewed' (i.e. downloaded ) the new album as well and I like it; I'm going to buy it though. "You Know What You Are?" is my favourite track so far.
They're playing two Toronto dates at the Kool Haus, but they're both sold out. I was too slow to get tickets .
Michelle! wow, i'ts been a while..i shoukd use msn more foten hehe how is it going?
ah luv that song! i just got a bit addicted to their new album and i managed to get the bonus tracks too hehe

It's okay, but after six years, I expected something more.

Yeah, waiting 5 or more years between every album isn't a good way to lower expectations.

I think there fabulous. Trent is probably one of the greatest singer/songwriters out there today. Johnny Cash, Sheryl Crow and even Coldplay have covered them.
I have a whole wack of their bootlegs, even the concert they played with David Bowie, which was pretty cool.
Have you ever heard of songs more powerful than Physical or Closer? What about March of the Pigs? Just fantastic music, can't get enough. :)
Awesome...the last album is awesome...The Hand that feeds it's a great single and Trent Reznor is too hot!

It's nothing like Coldplay, but I'm so into it right now.
I went to a concert (the first from the european tour) on the 10th of February, and...oh my. It was so damn cool.
All the energy held by all those people, we felt the music, yeah, we felt it.
I'm anxious for Year Zero and I'll buy their new DVD Beside You In Time.
So, who likes NIN?
They are okay, just not my cup of tea.
(InsAna, I merged your thread with the other main NIN thread)

One of my favourite bands of all time, the Norwegian popharmonic noiserock band Serena Maneesh is going to open up for Nine Inch Nails in Japan & Australia.
They've opened for bands like Oasis, Arctic Monkeys & Dandy Warhols before. Their debutalbum was voted the 6th most praised album in the whole world in 2006. Nominated for an MTV-award, won the best live act in Norway ect ect...
They are awsome in so many ways! You guys should really see them live if you get the chance! ;)

ah briggins my friend you could not be more wrong. NIN is alive and well and Trent Reznor is making music just as brilliantly as he did 10-15yrs ago. the way he released Year Zero a few years back was amazing and then he followed that up with Ghosts I-IV which is some of the best instrumental work i have ever had the pleasure of hearing. The Slip wasn't too crash hot but still worth a listen. currently i'm working through some NIN back catalogue. anyone have any recommendations on where i should begin? i have all the 2000s album but nothing from the 90s.
tom295
