If anybody wants to hear some new music, the acoustic version of this CD is great. You can get it at Starbucks right now, but it will be released to stores on July 28th or something like that.
It doesn't (and can't) beat the rock versions of the songs, but if you're an Alanis fan, you'll still love these. Anyone else a fan...at least of her old stuff?

I liked her when this original cd was out. I don't think I would like it now though.. I moved in from the girl-rock.

I don't know anybody who didn't have Jagged Little Pill when "Ironic" was on the radio. Guy or girl, everybody had it.

I think it's a good idea that she is going back to what people liked the most, she had the most success with this album. She is having another go at it.

They aired one of these acoustic performances of her on VH1 a month or so ago and I found it very painful to listen to.
Then again, I was never really a fan of her music, but I loved her on You Can't Do That On Television! :D

:surprised: Its BERG
^^It's BERG alright!
I've downloaded it.. It's awesome. More emotion in the songs, methinks. It will be released internationally on July 26th, containing exclusive footage from the JLP days back in 1995. Be sure to check it out folks!

While i used to like Alanis.... how many times can she release Jagged Little Pill? The first time was great, she sold tons and made millions. Then she made MTV Unplugged, which was pretty much all the hits in acoustic form. Fantastic, it was a brilliant gig. Then VH1 Storytellers DVD.... more acoustic Jagged Little Pill. Now the entire album.... again? That's 3 remakes.
Don't get me wrong, I've loved Alanis since her dance CDs. I've got all the albums. But this is ridiculous. And selling it at Starbucks ain't helping the cause. I don't care who she signed the exclusivity deal with, you don't do that sort of thing. If you were serious about making people listen to your music, give it to as many people as you can, as quickly as you can. It's not fair for the music stores running for 20 years to be shunned by Alanis after supporting her since her teen years.

I liked her when 'Jagged Little Pill' came out, I remember I had that album on tape  I used to play it over and over.
But not anymore, she's gone a bit weird now, too chilled. The complete opposite of how she used to be. I loved it when she was angry.

Yeah, I like her a lot. I'm not a big lyrics person: I usually don't care what the hell you say as long as you can sing and the music is good. (Do we really care what Thom is singing/mumbling in Radiohead songs? Does he really care?) But I'm a fan of Alanis's direct lyrics, and I guess I should be since my writing if rather direct. I really like the fact that I can enjoy Alanis's songs as great music and/or as great prose. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is my favorite Alanis album.

I like Alanis a lot, but I'm not really into her anymore. I loved her in the 90's though... Jagged Little Pill is one of the best album's in recent history, and I think she continued to make great songs for awhile after that ("Uninvited" is my favorite Alanis song).
As for now, I still respect her and give her new singles a chance, but they're so watered down now. Not bad, just not anything enough to interest me either. Her last single I really played a lot was "Hands Clean."
i like her old songs like oughta know, but now she's calmed and quiet, there's no fun in that. And she cut her hair!!! it was a crime against nature

i totally agree on that one maiu, it was indeed a huge crime!! and i agree with all of you here, she was really good but now she becomed boring....but as CaptainOats, said "Jagged Little Pill is one of the best album's in recent history"!!
Yes you spelt her name wrong, it's Alanis Morissette. ;)
I've loved her music ever since I saw the video for Hands Clean on TV 4 years ago. I think it's really sad that most only appreciate her for her JLP-days... There's so much more to her than the "angry Alanis" she got famous for. Personally I'm a fan of her later stuff. Songs like Precious Illusions, Excuses, Thank U.. Love them! She's currently recording a new album with producer Mike Elizondo (known for his work with 50 Cent, Eminem, Fiona Apple to name a few) so how that turns out will (imo) be interesting to see. :)
