Yes I feel exactly the same. Was about to start a thread like this myself to be honest. I just keep checking news several times a day....I feel this is an overly long foreplay this time around ! Maybe it feels so long because I have a strong feeling Mylo Xyloto will be my favorite Coldplay album ever!

The boys have been very very quiet after the announcement. I guess they are taking some days off, because once they start doing the festivals again in a couple of weeks, and release Paradise, they will start the album promotion with no rest.

Thus, I guess that we have to wait a couple of weeks guys and afterwards, we will be hearing a lot from the boys until the release of Mylo Xyloto.

Yeah I agree. Every Teardrop and Major Minus have occupied me, at least until now, so Paradise, being the second single which is the potential hit should definitely do the job for a month and a half :D And the tracklist will come out in September too

Yes, I'm so looking forward to all these funny interviews when they talk how the album was created and whats the secret behind the strange title... and maybe give some insights on the new record (some songs and their charackter...)

We know about Mylo Xyloto:
-title
-release date
-festival songs (don't know if they could be on Mx or not)
-themes (graffiti/a bit of 1984/work for someone you don't like...)
-some unknown songs on ASCAP
-details about releasing and commercial strategies (Billboard)
-other news, not very specific.

Actually, we don't know so much about the album itself. I'm dying for this album.
They'd better do a masterpiece, otherwise...:saw:

I found a good way to get my Coldplay fix while waiting until September 12: watching VLV era videos and interviews. I realize I have missed a lot of interviews that were uploaded later on on youtube. Reminds me of why I love this band: they are so down to earth and genuine and most of all passionate about what they do. I think Mylo will be the culmination of their revolution started with Viva: I canīt wait! :)

Are you sure about this?

I mean, I dont have "insider knowledge" or whatever, but it's been there will be an iTunes preorder, and the iTunes preorder always is up with the first single (think about it-you don't want to pay twice for the same song from the same release!). In high school, I worked at the Apple Store and that's how they explained it to us.

The preorder never occurs with no tracklisting.

EDIT: So it would either have to be announced then OR before then. That's my train of thought, anyway. Take it with a grain of salt.

They should blow up twitter and release a song title every 5-30 minutes over like a 4 hour period to debut the tracklisting. Do this a couple days before Paradise debuts.

110 STEPS
110 days from video upload date: 24/05/2011 is Monday 12th September.
The day that video was uploaded is 24, same day album comes out.

Are there any other hints we are not aware of that we should? :O Ghostplay salutes you.

I agree with Baw8cc. It seems very logical that they release the tracklisting the same day as the release of the single, I bet that if they do it'll be done via an interview (probably with BBC radio 1) after the first play of the song and one of the lads will tell us the songs.
That's my thought on it anyway although I'd love if they did videos like in the build up to ETIAW but instead of giving clues/teasers just give us the titles and small pieces of lyrics.

You know this is BS, don't you? CD and vinyl has nowadays the same digital master. So you can't hear nothing dramatically different and all differences comes from your audio system. Moreover, if I remember correctly, Viva has average vynil recording, I read people complaint about it.

I guess it's the thought of listening to a vinyl LP that counts. I love vinyl just for the sake of it.

The problem is that I have these weird things called classes I have to go to in the mornings, and labs to go to in the afternoons.

I can't wait to listen to the CD in my car for the first time. For some reason that's where I like listening to music the best. All that sound contained in such a small place. Though sometimes when I wear headphones and listen I do feel like I pick up on different sounds.

Ahhh good ole' labs. I'm an english education major, so I'm thankfully done with math and science courses. I don't mean that I check while actually in class though, just that having a smartphone allows me the opportunity to check whenever and wherever I am.

If I can't hear nothing dramatically different then doesn't that mean that I can hear EVERYTHING dramatically different? lol just messing. I agree that it is probably the idea of pulling out the LP, turning the needle and listening in all it vinyl glory that gets me going, but I swear that if you turn up the volume enough you're able to hear instruments and tiny, subtle nuances that I couldn't hear on other formats...either that or the speakers in my car aren't very good (doubt it though, because when I listen to Coldplay, I blast it lol).

I don't know but there's just something so enjoyable about putting on a cd instead of just playing an mp3.

So wait a minute - If it's released in the UK on Oct. 24 and in the US on Oct. 25 does that mean that we American types are going to have to spend one whole day seeing/hearing the UK folks rejoicing over MX while we don't have it yet? Will we have to avoid CPing so our first listen won't be spoilt? This may drive me all the way crazy.

So imagine my surprise and excitement when I flipped open the "Living" section of my local newspaper and found a very cute picture of Chris grinning out at me!

Coldplay was featured in a roundup article (reprinted from USA Today), a fall music preview of upcoming releases. MX was featured along with releases by Mary J. Blige, Tony Bennett, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Lou Reed and Metallica, Lady Antebellum, and Superheavy - not too shabby.

Here's a transcript of the Coldplay portion of the article.

Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto (Oct. 24)

Outline: For their first album since 2008's double platinum Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, the British quartet brought on producers Brian Eno, Markus Dravs, Daniel Green and Rik Simpson, and is reported dto have adopted an industrial rock/electro-pop sound. The group has revealed that it's pronounced my-lo zy-letoe but has been mum on its meaning, setting up a flurry of Internet speculation.

Outside the lines: First single "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" has racked up 583,000 download sales, according to Nielson SoundScan. Second single "Paradise" follows Monday.

Outlook: This is a band that can cause a record company's stock to drop if it announces a delay, so expectations are through the roof. Reviews of the band's festival appearances this summer, where new songs were road-tested, have been mostly highly favorable.
