we allready have Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and soon Paradise as singles from MX. And i think we get Charlie Brown as a single on the same day as Mylo Xyloto.

reasons for that what i think
- Charlie Brown on Radio as background and Charlie Brown on a TV advert
- The band had to choose between Paradise or Charlie Brown as the second single from MX, but they chose Paradise as first.
- Viva La Vida was also released on the same day as Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends

But being on a tv advertisment does not mean its gonna be released the same day as Mylo :P

My guess is CB will be the 5th (counting ETIAW) single (if it becomes a single, which I don't think it will be)

Viva la Vida was released as the "Instant Grat" track on iTunes for the pre-order, not on the same day the album was released. That is what they are doing with Paradise too. I think they are just being very creative in building interest for the album by putting another song out there through promotions. That doesn't mean it has to be a single.

I think they'd be missing out on it not being a single. It's a sure-fire number one, in any country, and you know, it's one hell of a third single.

It's like keeping Lionel Messi on the bench behind two other players :P

He is referencing the article that talked about how Paradise was chosen as the first proper single over Charlie Brown.

well.. The recording page on coldplay.com says that both are released on the same date :stunned:

You're right... that's why I thought that Charlie Brown is the third single of MX.

Correct, the actual CD release was on June 12th, but the song Viva la Vida was available for immediate download when the LP became available for pre-order on iTunes, which is, if I recall correctly, what Dave Holmes implied was to be the case for Paradise as well.

The thing is...did anybody actually say that Charlie Brown was going to be a single? Making assumptions at this stage is an irrelevant thought and will get nowhere, just wait and see.

Charlie Brown will in fact be released on the same day as Mylo Xyloto.

To hear it, look on the back of the MX box, scroll down to Charlie Brown's track number and then play that track.
