I'm a member of PRS and (as a member) you can search their online database of registered songs. I typed in Chris Martin and looked at all the newly registered work under 'Christopher Anthony John Martin' and a song called 'Mylo Xyloto' was registered on 6th July 2011!!! The writers registered for the song are all of Coldplay and Brian Eno. Wither they actually call the album Mylo Xyloto or not or that might be the lead single (maybe released on October 10th because the first letters of each word being MX).You know guys, I've been googling the title for a couple of minutes, and this is what I came up with. Probably a stretch, but on the other hand makes sense in a way.

Basically a swastika (ancient Indian symbol plus some nazi crap) formed with CCTV cameras. (One eye watching you, 1984 references in MM and so on).

'Up With The Birds' has also been registered and Leonard Cohen is listen as one of the co-writers. Apparently the song contains 'samples' but it doesn't state where the samples are from. Might be a Leonard Cohen song. I think this could be the next single as well, it's the only song they've registered the length of (apart from ETIAW) and it's 3.30 - perfect radio time.

For me...
"MX" is just the name for the Introsong.
I just guess "Morse Xylobrytes" Xylobrytes is just a different Word for Xylophone.
The Intro sounds for me like a Morsecode from the Aliens just in Xylophone sounds, and it would be stupid if they call the Album something with Xylophone/Xylobrytes when just the first song had something to do with it.

Still haven't a clue. I've been googling for the past half hour. Apparently the pre-fix 'xylo' means something relating to wood??? Maybe they've just invented the words themselves though, can't imagine them singing songs about wood lol, although ETIAW has the line 'maybe the trees are gone'. I remember hearing they were masterminding 'a brave new direction' and I guess it would be pretty brave to invent new words and call the album that.

The LP5 title WILL be Mylo Xylo and Xylo is an abreviation for Xylobrytes.

One doubt stands and the thread creator could solve it easily.

If there is another music registered as MX it is another song, but I strongly believe it is the same thing, and if you think 'bout it, Mylo Xylo, knowing all we know with these inocent searches, is a perfect sumary to the hole album theme, and as it is spected to be the opening song, the intro for HLH, ALL THIS STUFF MAKES SENSE.

This is a legitimate find and most likely the inspiration behind the album - It makes sense from the new songs' lyrics - Chris even mentioned it would be a concept about a couple fighting against the world (if anyone remembers something he mentioned watching The Wire).

It's so clear it's about revolution against the establishment who keep us in the dark - hence the allusions to ufo's, what's really happening in the world, the climate change and the mass extinction of species that is going on and most r not aware of it.

I looked at the mylo's site - he has another page with universal symbol of the hourglass in a circle representing the time that is running out on this world. I guess coldplay saw that and were inspired and want our generation to realize this and not become a full stop, but rather a comma (ETIAW reference, for all the haters, love that song btw, it will be remembered and a coldplay classic). The graffiti is a way for society to communicate to each other in a subversive way, much like subliminal messages, but it's a symbol of humanity crying out and warning us and wake up (kind of like the Matrix). I think it's brilliant and love this new concept - this album may become our generation's Wall or something similiar (i'll reserve judgment until it comes out.

Kudos to all the investigators - I truly can't wait for the album and to hear their take on the concept and the inspiration but it's clear from all the images, lyrics, symbols what it's all about. Regardless of the name, people will listen to it bc Coldplay, and I think they realize that - and if they can bring awareness to the environmental struggle we are in and going to be in for the foreseeable future then who cares what the name of the album is going to be.

Bravo Coldplay - they are truly a special group of 4 + 1 (PH of course).

btw, if any of you r interested about the ufo, conspiracy thing - check out Billy Meier - one of the truly fantastical stories out there but very much suppressed in the media - theyfly.com or the future of mankind - billy meier wiki. Don't forget, the reason the other guys will get less than 20% is because Brian Eno is also involved in the writing of that particular song. Chris, as we well know is the main songwriter, and that program isn't stealing credit, it's simply stating the overall contribution to the writing process of the song.

Woah that's awesome. It's very "Big Brother" which fits with the themes like "One Eye Watching You" and it's all very graffidi style. Not to mention the whole white rose movement theme fits with the nazi looking one.

I just saw the thread on the Coldplay forum, there are some interesting and quite entertaining theories on there, but I'm afraid that I'm not working for Coldplay and have never had any contact with them, so I don't have any info about their new album. I just make street protest art about things that happen to concern me, such as civil liberties and environmental issues such as extinction.

I use 'Xylo' as my street name because the first ever posters I was putting up in the streets were woodcut prints, the technical term for which is xylography. I also do woodcarving, so it seemed like an appropriate name.

Anyway, I hope you find the answer to the mystery. All the best. :)

Just because this Xylo guy hasn't been in contact with Coldplay doesn't mean they haven't been inspired by him or his graffiti/art.

I'm of the belief that there has been no contact with the band, but even if he has been collaborating in some way, I can't see why he wouldn't just ignore the emails rather than reply and seemingly have to lie about it.

Also, I quite like "Mylo Xyloto," and would not be disappointed if it turned out to be the album title.

I put screen shots of Mylo Xyloto and Up With The Birds earlier in this thread, I deleted them (because I'm not sure wither that goes against the terms and conditions of the PRS website so I don't want to lose my membership over this). Some people quoted my post so you might still find the screen shot (I think round pages 4-6 of this thread).

And yeah the royalties thing surprised me too. I've checked loads of Coldplay songs, the sketch with that is :

(Keep in mind the publishing company usually gets 50% of all songwriting royalties (this is the case with pretty much every major publishing contract in Britian)

Parachutes and AROBTTH era royalty split :

Chris - 12.50%
Johnny - 12.50%
Guy - 12.50%
Will - 12.50%

X&Y + VLVODAAHF era royalty split :

Chris - 20.00%
Johnny - 10.00%
Guy - 10.00%
Will - 10.00%

I guess it's only fair if Chris is doing the majority of the writing to get a bit more.

With this album it's getting a bit more complicated, especially now that Brian Eno is envolved in the writing (he also has a seperate publishing company from Coldplay so a small percentage goes to that.
