Just got my tickets in Sec 17!

I was wondering (to all you Coldplayers) if this concert might be different from their normal festival like shows? i.e Butterflies, Yellow Balls etc

Either way im just so excited!

Yes. It's pretty small, so no matter where you sit you will have good seats. It's actually really a tennis court.

Glad you got tickets, If you believe the advert for the concert it say's the artists only play an hour, but I feel they might give us alittle more, I am hoping so. If they play GPASUYF, like they have been in the festivals, I will be one happy camper:)

Needless to say, I'm beyond excited at this opportunity. I'm way outside Coldplay's target demographic - I just turned 55 - but I feel as excited as a teenager to be seeing "my" band again! I hope to meet some Coldplayers at the concert.

The article is about Coldplay playing the grammy gig and it says "Along with hour-long live music performances, each event will feature interactive activities and the chance to win prizes, including the Samsung Infuse 4G and a Summer Krush-branded guitar."

your not crazy, just read it wrong, I believe the doors open at 6:30 and show starts at 8pm.

On that note they might play more than the hour, because I think the last 3 years the concerts have been free, this one is a benefit and Mariah Carey played 6 songs in 2008, but it was free!!!:) Well, meaning the tickets were not able for purchase, just through contests and online contests, ect....

Does anyone have any more information on what the VIP experience entails? I read what it said on ticketmaster's website and everything was kinda of vague. Has anyone had the VIP experience at a Coldplay show before? We got great seats (Sec. 202, Row 1) and I would love to meet up with any other fellow Coldplayers who are going to be at the show.

Again, any information or speculation that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

The net proceeds from the show, which is part of the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert series, will benefit the GRAMMY Foundation's GRAMMY in the Schools music education initiative for high school students.

Tickets have now sold out, but Samsung AT&T have purchased a batch of tickets, which they're giving away to Coldplay fans. To be in with a chance of winning a pair, simply head to the Summer Krush 2011 website (http://www.samsungsummerkrush2011.com/location.aspx?city=Los%20Angeles) at 10am PST each day from Thursday 21 July to Monday 25 July. Enter the code Westwood to win (tickets will be given away on a first come, first served basis). I do have my birth certificate. :) I would get just a regular CA ID since I can't get a driver's license just yet like you said...but I'm worried that it won't come in time anyways. :\ The concert is less than two weeks away.

I'll be there with Bee (my fiancee) and like Caroline said, we have the seats right next to her (Sec. 202, Row 1, Seats 13-14). I bought the VIP tix because we'll be celebrating our 6th anniversary and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than with Coldplay :). I'm really hoping for something autographed by the band for the free gift, but who knows, lol.

For those of you with VIP tix, I emailed the customer service contact and they mentioned that the preshow activities will start around 6:30pm or earlier, but they weren't exactly sure. If you do have VIP tix, I'd love to meet up during the pre-show activities and as much as I'd like to meet up after the show, I have to be at work at 8am the next morning so we'll be heading home after its finished.

I just found out from the PR person in charge (long story, but a friend of a friend) of this event who told me that the free seats, she heard, are going to be general admission from what they've done in the past. I take this to mean that it will be GA in designated sections in the venue, and not Pit - basically sit anywhere in "this" section?

Yesterday we entered the password and only my daughter got tickets, out of 4. Last night, I overheard someone at a restaurant talking about getting tickets so nosy me started talking to him. He said he didn't enter a password. This morning I was at the DMV with my son and tried at 10 just for kicks. Password didnt work so I tried without and got tix. But I was using my iPhone and couldn't print! I emailed a link to the page to my husband at work and he was able to print. Thank goodness!

I am so excited that alot of Coldplayers won tickets, especially ONE certain member who seems to have a magical computer:rolleyes: I've had to work the last few day's with no computer handy, so today I was gonna give it a go. I'm having the hardest time winning tickets. I know everyone isn't going to win, but I love Coldplay and can't afford to buy tickets! ): I've been trying to win tickets since the 21st. Today I tried entering and not entering the code a couple times and a message showed up saying to check back regularly to see when tickets are available. Does the Samsung website tell you an hour or 30minutes later that there will be tickets available? And did anyone else try not using the code to get tickets?

That is the 165.00 x3 question that Dianne and I have:thinking: 3 ickets paid for in sec. 2. Dianne won like 4 or 6 extra tickets, and I won 2, but we don't want to sell off the sec.2 in case the freebies are not as close as ours. If we keep our sec. 2 tickets when we get there and compare, I will take my 2 and go outside and see if anyone wanted them for free, I am coming from Florida so I don't know anyone in L.A.

I read it was sold out, but they still had sec. 203 avail.

All I did yesterday was kept the form up, filled out, and kept hitting the submit button, no code needed. Grant you I didn't just sit by all day to do it, I happened to win at 6:40pm Eastern time, it just pops up that you win, so keep trying.

If there is anyone who can't win tickets after Monday the cut off line, I will find out where the free tickets are at and if they are worse than my paid seats I am willing to meet anyone from here outside the venue and give you mine, you just have to take a chance and drive there and hope my paid ones are better:)

SO I am gonna come up with a Coldplay Question to ask and give it to someone who knows and loves the band:lol:

UCLA website says 5800 seats in the tennis stadium. But theyre adding floor seating/GA. But its still a pretty small venue compared to the massive festivals they've dine in Europe!

I have 2 tickets - Section 16, Row 22 (best section (along with Section 2) in the house - right next to the stage but no side view - perfect)

That is exactly where you should be, and the exact message we all got, then BOOM, a winning form came up.
I filled my info out, then just kept hitting the submit button. Never re-did the form , I periodically came back during the day and would hit the button for 10 minutes straight, NOTHING, then the next time I was on about 3 minutes and won. Hope this helps.

The free tickets ended yesterday :( The promotion was from Thursday-Monday. I just checked ticketmaster so see if any tickets were available for sale, but nothing yet.

Exact seat location will be distributed at the door. At the moment we can't speak to whether they'll be "better" than what you purchased.

I purchased tickets during the presale for Coldplay. My son won tickets through the online registration at the Summer Krush website. Is there any way to find out where the free promotional tickets would be located? I don't need an exact location, but I am wondering if they will be "better" than the $150 tickets I purchased. (Sec. 2) Would there be any way that the free tickets would be in GA Pit? Thank you!

Not much info there. I went on the stubhub website to see what seats are available and in what sections, thinking maybe, as someone had mentioned in another post, that there would be a "free" section. But tickets to all sections are available on stubhub, so they haven't "reserved" a section or two for the free ticket winners. Guess we'll just have to wait and see where they are in EIGHT DAYS!!!

They changed the dates of the free promotion. On coldplay.com, it says :

Tickets have now sold out, but Samsung AT&T have purchased a batch of tickets, which they're giving away to Coldplay fans. To be in with a chance of winning a pair, simply head to the Summer Krush 2011 website at 10am PST each day from Thursday 21 July to Monday 25 July. Enter the code Westwood to win (tickets will be given away on a first come, first served basis). You can enter from anywhere in the world, although the prize is just tickets (which are strictly non-transferable). See the website for full T&Cs.

But now on the Samsung website, it says:

A limited number of tickets will be made available each day through Tuesday, August 2.

I sent Samsung a question myself regarding the free tickets seat locations and length of the show. I will be traveling from Washington DC and just wanted to make sure that the tickets were fairly good and that they are playing a full set similar to the length they have been playing at the festivals. Here is their response.

"Exact ticket location will be distributed at the door. We cannot speak to the duration of the show but expect it to be amazing."

Based on their reply I asked if the best free seats are given out first? I'll let you know their response. I'm really appreciative for the free tickets!!!!

You will see a blue page that says An Evening with Coldplay. You have to print this page, you won't receive an email or anything else. If you are using a phone or ipad, you can email the link to yourself and open it from your email, but you will NOT receive any other confirmation. And use the print box that is on the page and not from your browser or flie/print.

I just joined this forum to share some info that I have regarding SSK freebies as well as seating chart.

As for UCLA Parking : I believe it's going to be $11. I currently attend UCLA so I know it's $11 :D

As for the size of tennis court : It's really really small as many of you wrote. Pretty much every seat will be better than other Coldplay concerts

As for SSK Freebies: I just contacted SSK PR person and she said the freebies are given until Aug 2nd, unlike what Coldplay website listed.

As for SSK Freebies seating chart: I asked PR person and here's her reply:

The "paid for" tickets are definitely reserved seats. A few of us on the boards contacted Summer Krush about seat location and were told that "exact seat location would be distributed at the door." Based on the location of the seats many of us have purchased and what is currently available on stubhub for resale, it looks as though the free seats will be randomly distributed throughout the venue, but will be assigned seating as well.

Also I emailed the promoters as well about if you have to be 18 or older to win tix and also asked about if a person just took their birth certificate and their school id together as well to prove who they are...and I got this reply:

You do not have to be 18. We will accept any form of government ID.

I took that last statement as yes that your birth certificate will do. :P

I didn't see anyone on here that purchased GAPit tickets, I don't think they were even coming up on ticketmaster. I have seen some pit tickets on sale on the ticket sites for alot of money. I can't imagine pit tickets being given out for free on the Summer Krush website:thinking: I agree with Dianne, that there are alot of seats spread out in all sections of the venue, except the floor VIP and PIT areas. Some free tickets could be in sec. 7 some could be in sec.2 :\

I'm coming from florida, and got mine a week or so ago and my rountrip was about 400.00, Check... Expedia, priceline, cheap tickets, orbitz, and I also checked the airlines themselves, I ended up with priceline.

Also, I don't know if your getting a rental car, but I am not flying into LAX, I am flying to SNA "Orange County" which is about 1 hour from L.A. check area airports, some might be cheaper to fly into.

Look at flying into Long Beach too. Jet Blue. And check fares on Southwest, they don't show up on travel sites like travelocity or expedia. You could also check flights into Orange County (SNA). It's further south, near where I live, but you will have to rent a car anywhere you fly into.

When I won my tickets, I submitted my name again and won a second pair. Incase anyone else had the same luck, here is a response I just received from SSK regarding winning twice and the time free tickets will be available.

"Each ticket allows you plus a guest to attend. We will be checking ID against the names on the ticket. You will only be able to claim one of the pairs. We hope to begin distributing tickets with seat locations shortly after 6:30p."

I did not win any tickets. This winning tickets sucks. I went to Ticketmaster and they sold out the last right when it was my turn. There were people who won tickets and wanted to sell them to me, and then someone bought them. I am now stuck without a ticket. I can buy one for $300 from a scalper. I don't have that kind of money. They should have had all the tickets for sale so whoever wanted one could have one fairly.

I tried to win twice because I thought some friends would be able to come but they can't. I had hoped to give away my other free tickets to some fans at the gate. I don't feel right taking money for something that is free especially when it's a benefit concert.
