Official Terms & Conditions
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
2. Prize. The iTunes Festival London 2011 Ticket Promotion (the “Promotion”), sponsored by Apple (UK) Limited (“Promoter”), is a prize draw in which each winning entrant will receive two (2) tickets to a concert forming part of the iTunes Festival London 2011, taking place at the Roundhouse, 100 Chalk Farm Road, Camden, London NW1 8EH, United Kingdom, on a date selected at the point of entry (the “Prize”). This Promotion applies to both Main Space events and Studio Sessions events, so please note the terms specific to the relevant event. A ticket to a Main Space event will not permit access to the Studio Sessions event on the same day. However, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, allow winners of tickets to a Studio Sessions event to attend the Main Space event on the same day. Each prize draw will run from the date the concert appears on the www.itunesfestival.com web site until seven (7) days before the concert in question, or, in the event of circumstances beyond Promoter’s reasonable control, such extended period as is later announced by Promoter (“Promotion Period”). Each Prize shall be comprised of two (2) tickets, which shall be non-transferable, and not for resale, only. 160 Prizes shall be available for each Main Space event, and 7 Prizes shall be available for each Studio Sessions event. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, increase the number of Prizes for any event. The cost of transportation and accommodation (if necessary) shall not be the responsibility of the Promoter. The Promoter makes no warranty with respect to the appearance of the artists specified on www.itunesfestival.com at the iTunes Festival London 2011. The management of the Roundhouse reserves the right to refuse admission. How to Enter. Enter your full name, county, e-mail address, and if you want to receive a mobile ticket, your mobile phone number, as indicated at www.itunesfestival.com. Please note that the mobile ticket option is only available if your phone can receive messages via MMS. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person per concert during the Promotion Period. Only entries received by Promoter during the Promotion Period for the concert in question will be accepted.
3. Eligibility. In order to be eligible, entrants must be 14 years of age or older at the time of entry, a resident of the United Kingdom, and must have a valid e-mail address. If you are under 18 years of age, but at least 14 years of age, you must obtain your parent or guardian’s express prior approval to enter. By entering, you represent that you have obtained such consent. Entries are limited to individual consumers only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible. Directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents of Promoter, its subsidiaries, affiliates, resellers, or advertising or promotional agencies and members of their immediate families (defined as children, parents, siblings or spouses) are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Each entrant may only win one (1) pair of tickets per date of the iTunes Festival London 2011. Entries via Website. The authorised holder of the e-mail address submitted upon entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited. Mechanically generated entries will be discarded and may result in total and permanent disqualification from the Promotion, and all other promotions accessible via the www.itunesfestival.com website.
4. How You Win. The winners of the Prizes will be decided by a series of random, computer-generated selections from the entries received during the relevant Promotion Period. From May 2011 until the end of the relevant Promotion Period, once per fortnight, an equal number of winners will be drawn from the pool of entries so far received for that Prize at that date (i.e. if this were a 10 week promotion for 100 prizes, 20 winners would be drawn per fortnight). However, if the number of Prizes is increased at any point during the Promotion Period, the number of winners drawn per fortnight will be increased accordingly from that point. Entries which are not selected will remain in the pool, and will be included in the draw for the same Prize the following fortnight. The final draw will take place no later than the day after the end of the Promotion Period for the concert in question (although this final selection date may be modified by an announcement by the Promoter on the Website). Previous winners of tickets for any given date of the iTunes Festival London 2011 shall be disqualified in the event that such persons are identified by the random, computer-generated selection. Decisions of Promoter relating to the drawing and all matters relating to this Promotion will be final and binding. The odds of winning a Prize will depend on the number of eligible entries received.
5. Notification. Promoter will notify each winner that he or she has won a Prize within a reasonable period after the draw, but in any event no more than four (4) days after the end of the Promotion Period. Notifications and other communications regarding Prizes will be sent by email to the email address provided on the entry form, and also by SMS sent to the mobile number provided on the entry form if applicable. Winners must respond to the email notification they receive, confirming acceptance of the Prize, within seventy-two (72) hours of receipt. Winners who fail to confirm acceptance will forfeit their Prize. Entrants who have not won a Prize will not receive notification of the same. Promoter is not responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including inactive e-mail accounts, technical difficulties associated therewith, or the potential winner’s failure to adequately monitor any e-mail address. Entrants should ensure that their e-mail account spam filters are set to permit e-mails from tickets@itunesfestival.com to be delivered. By participating, you agree to Promoter providing your name and the county of your residence in response to such requests. The Prize must be claimed by the winner, upon presentation of photographic identification, at the reception of the Roundhouse, 100 Chalk Farm Road, Camden, London, NW1 8EH, at a time to be communicated to winners prior to the date of the concert in question.
6. Publicity Release. The winner of the Prize hereby consents to (i) being interviewed about the Promotion, Promoter or any products or services of Promoter or its affiliates; (ii) use of his or her name, likeness and any statements, quotes or testimonials for publicity, advertising and other promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law; and (iii) being recorded and filmed and having his or her voice and likeness used in recordings and films for commercial purposes on a worldwide basis.
7. Taxes. All taxes associated with the receipt or use of any Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Promoter reserves the right to withhold any taxes as required by applicable law. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions (including for cash) are permitted, but Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater monetary value to any Prize if for any reason any Prize cannot be awarded as contemplated in these rules.
8. Conditions of Participation. By submitting an entry for this Promotion, you agree to abide by these rules and any decision Promoter makes regarding this Promotion. It seems to be very easy for people to come to the UK for Coldplay gigs... I've seen the evidence of that! People are willing to spend their money on Coldplay and travelling, no problems at all... and its their money to spend, no one is forcing them.

Sure, everyone is free to queue and be at the front and I have lots of friends from other countries, but sometimes it feels that English gigs are taken over as 'international' gigs which is fine when its somewhere big at Wembley but when it's a very small gig with not a lot of room, sometimes it's a bit annoying. This is just my personal point of view though, doesn't mean its right :)

Just because the gig is in the UK, it doesn't mean it is not an "international gig" if such a thing even exists at all! ... Every gig is free to everyone, simple. If anything, we are so so lucky to be in the one country which Coldplay generally favour, because we save lots of time, effort and a huge amount of money, from not having to travel very far! .... I'm prretty happy with the current set-up, and nobody is complaining too much that it is UK-only, because there are hardly any tickets for this gig anyway! :o

Just apply, and hope you get lucky, at least this time you won't be able to blame foreigners anyway ;)

I'm personally fed up of Coldplay showcasing new songs in Europe and USA and not England WHERE THEY ARE FROM. The viva tour they played in the US for ages until they came to the UK. (i dont count the brixton gig as that was a 1 off, they toured all over US before coming to England). I am happy that it is only for UK residents as far too many times I have heard of friends not being able to get tickets because everyone in the world tries to get tickets for coldplay!

Jen, i think the loophole there is that if a person is incredibly lucky to be picked for multiple gigs that they applied in a round, since it's done on a multiple draw rounds basis, that's fine. & "in the event that such persons are identified blahblahblah" means that there is a chance they aren't identified by the computerised system.

Well I think I couldn't afford the travel exchanges if I win some tickets but it looks like I cannot give them away (even for free) because these ar personel tickets or so :confused:
But at least I could give away one ticket then.. In the case of winning CP tickets I'd probably go begging for money in the streets that I can book a flight to London to see CP and one dedicated Coldplayer could come with me :)

Obviously I'd really dearly love to go and am searching high and low for a ticket or two, but my immovable policy is to buy or sell only at face value...it's going to be hard to tempt anyone to 'sell' to me if there's nothing on the ticket :cry:

based on all the shows so far, Coldplay's set'll be around 9pm. Pierces'll come on around 7.45pm.


i've seen some ppl say that at past iTunes Festivals, there were ppl who'd shown up at the door to queue to get in in the incredible likelihood that there might be spares/returns/no-shows. but you'd have to be there incredibly early on the day & may not be able to get in after all the waiting.
personally, i'm not going to take up this possibility...the gig's on a Friday so i'm at work til 6pm. & it's not a surefire thing i'll get in so am not taking the day off just for it.
but if you're really hard up to go & are free on the day, i guess you could try your luck.

I was watching the hour long highlights show on ITV 2 yesterday, in that hour they did 5 tracks from the various shows in the past week, 2 interviews with song cut up (bit of song - bit of chat - bit of song etc), a couple other interviews with various "celebrities" (OMG I've been a life-long fan of whatever band it is I got free tickets for) and adverts.

I was able to watch Hard-Fi Live yesterday on my iPad, with the iTunes app. I'm in CA, so I don't know why you wouldn't be able to watch it :( Have you done any troubleshooting? Maybe if you uninstalled the app and reinstalled? Do you ever synch with your computer? I hope you can get it figured out.

The final winners from the original iTunes competition will be announced this week. Then there's the Coldplay.com comp too...but I'm not holding out too much hope at this point, they were always gonna be extremely hard to win.

My flatmate works for a music production company and they do a lot of filming for iTunes so they get offered tickets to the shows (she actually had Friendly Fires tickets last week and asked if I wanted to go, but I was working :() so obviously I asked her (as casually as I could :P) whether she could get Coldplay tickets and she said absolutely no chance.

She said they'd been given tickets for Arctic Monkeys and when they turned up they were turned away at the door as it was full, but that they wouldn't even be given tickets to try and get in with Coldplay as it'll be massively over sold (for lack of a better word, as they're not actually on sale)

I'm very sorry to say (because you are genuine) that I think you won't get in - I'm not sure I'd even bother trying :(

There seem to be three checks to get in. The first two are on the doors, and the third is at the computer where they scan your ticket for the name and then check it against your photo ID (to make sure you haven't photoshopped the name on the ticket). They can do this because most tickets are for 'guests' who have blank tickets - named tickets seem to be a huge minority (a few hundred out of a total crowd of over five thousand) so they can take the time to do this.

The consensus seems to be that if you have named tickets and are not the person named on them you will NOT get in. I would probably try it myself, but with zero expectation. If you look similar to your friend can you borrow his photo ID?

I completely agree with this policy to combat touts, but think it's ridiculous in honest cases (like your own).

I thought something "might" have happened by now but no, and I can't even buy them on ebay, there are none on there!!! (plus it is risky ofc)

I'm scared now. I'm gonna seem really dim here and I don't really ever do this kind of thing... but all dignity aside, I'm gonna just put it out there, if anyone could help, no matter which way possible, I'd do ANYTHING to get a ticket. (Oh, and I'd be very appreciative too lol)

Hi Craig, I would have liked to do the same, but ryanair wants 280 euros for the flight so I don't want to waste those money without being sure to have tickets :(

When asked if there was going to be new songs played at the iTunes festival, she never said NO, she just said the set list won't be identical. I f she knew there going to be no new songs played, I'd think she would tell us.

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but for those of you who aren't great with computers. The Coldplay concert will be streamed live by video directly through iTunes music store.

All you need to do is download iTunes 10.4 for free by going to http://www.itunes.com

Then simply make sure you are connected to the internet, click on the 'iTunes Store' tab on the left-hand side of the application under the 'Store' tab and then on the main page at the top you should see an iTunes Festival ad.

Click on the ad, and then on the next page you should see a "watch live" link.

Easy, free and a very reliable stream provided by apple. =)

(so no worrying about losing signal or being disconnected... lol)

We already discussed it in the previous pages, the problem is that for many people the videos on iTunes do not work, both streaming and past shows. I have the latest version of the software installed and still it won't work, apple is getting on my nerves lately :shifty:
