Not only will Coldplay be at the Grammys hoping to win, but they'll also be putting on a show.
The people behind the awards show have hooked Coldplay into doing a set at the 45th annual Grammys. The NMC eCharting artists are up for for Best Alternative Album, for A Rush of Blood to the Head, and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal, for "In My Place."
You can catch the Grammys on February 25. :D :D :D

I hope they play more than one, but Clocks definately, they'll be all out to plug their next single, even nice bands like Coldplay do things like that 8)
when they were on david letterman they were suppose to play their latest single and at the time it was clocks. they still played in my place :?
I'm so sure they will play clocks. I'm also positive they're going to win a grammy. I was voting for them a lot and I would always go and look at the stats, and they would always be winning. :D

did you ask this question?
...it said it's neither...I heard they might be playing 'Politik.' :o :)
from coldplay.com Q&A-
28.01.2003
GRAMMYS gig
Q: I heard COLDPLAY will perform on the GRAMMYS. Is it true? & if so will they play CLOCKS or In MY Place? Personally I think it'll be cool to play CLOCKS, because I've seen COLDPLAY perform IN MY PLACE on Letterman, Leno, Conan & i think CLOCKS is a cool song, but it hasn't received much attention as a single in the states.
A: They will be performing at the Grammy's, but you'll be pleased to know that it'll be NEITHER of the above tracks. Watch to see.

I bought tickets to the Viewing Party. I'm concerned that the show will only be on screen and that they will not actually be in person. Can anyone confirm this?
why would they not be there. they will be in that part of the states at that time right :?

There is the Theater at MSG where the Viewing Party is. Then there is the MSG arena where the awards are. Viewing Partry tickets are for the Theater and not the Arena. Will Coldplay play live in the Arena or in the Theater?
oh ok i see what your talking about. i'm guessing they'll most likely be in the theater with all the celebrities and you will probably be seeing them on a screen. just a guess. but i'd say that's most likely

BIG BAND
British quartet Coldplay have enjoyed a number of rushes this year with the phenomenal success of their sophomore effort, A Rush Of Blood To The Head. That strong effort garnered them two GRAMMY nominations this year — one for Best Alternative Album and one for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("In My Place" is the album's nominated track). At Saturday morning rehearsals, Coldplay showed just how big a sound they can make when they ran through their song "Politik" with the majestic, orchestral backing of the 86-piece New York Philharmonic, who were led by the baton of GRAMMY-winning composer/arranger Michael Kamen. The grand sound of this large-scale collaboration was entirely effective, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was all smiles at rehearsal's end. While the orchestra was on stage, they also rehearsed with conductor David Robinson their own bit of GRAMMY night performance spotlight — the "Mambo" section of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. The Philharmonic will also receive some extra GRAMMY week recognition: Saturday night the venerable organization will be honored by the Recording Academy with a 2003 Trustees Award. (2/22)
