are there any indie type music fests around that area. i have a good friend who lives there and really wants to see some decent live music.

I just wanna see Seether.
But it is a huge nonstop party every year. I usually listened to most of it from our back garden. The heat is unbearable, unless lucky enough to to get a thunderstorm- which that time of year usually includes tornado watches/warnings as well ! More bang for your buck, lol !
This is a tiny town of about pop. 9000, the bigger indie bands usually play in Tulsa, or Oklahoma City.
Where does your friend live ?

he lives a couple of hours outside of oklahoma city cant remember the exact town name. but he is always groaning about never being able to see any decent bands.
