I've been wondering for some time how much of the show is backing tracks... And I don't really see the point in Lost... I mean, I think Guy could really play it, it's not like extra hard to play, so I just don't get why you're gonna put a backing there. Anyway.

Well Will is also drumming, so I was confused about what sounds are made by Guy and what sounds are made by Will

There are two sets of drums in the track playing at the same time (I think). Will's are played live (again I think - it's always looked and sounded that way) and Guy's are on a backing track.

I think a lot of it is backed, and it's quite easy to tell after watching loads of the shows. I don't mind really, most of the time - I know they want it to be a 'perfect' sound, and that most people won't notice, and in that sense it's theatre over musicality. But all that's broken when Guy stops pretending to drum the part he's meant to be playing - even to those of us who already know/guessed :laugh3:

The funny thing is, the band are best (for me) and also look most comfortable when it's just them and their instruments on the actual songs :)

I don't really mind either, I understand that they can't play every instruments on each song. Sometimes I just wonder why they use a backing track, like during "Lost".
And to be honest, I always liked them better in a more acoustic way, where everything seems a bit more spontaneous. Even though I can't deny they're also really good the way they are today.

XL Video and Coldplay join forces at Glasto

A specialist team from XL Video attended the 2011 Glastonbury Festival to co-ordinate the first ever 'mapped projection' onto three sides of the legendary Pyramid Stage structure.

The visual spectacular took place whilst Coldplay performed their latest release, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall as the finale to their Saturday night headline set.

The story started with a discussion between Coldplay's production manager Wob Roberts and XL Video director Des Fallon some months previously.

Roberts said: "The initial inspiration came from Coldplay's creative director Phil Harvey after seeing XL's mapping of the Ralph Lauren building in London. Once the team had demo'd the concept to all of us, the band confirmed that they wanted to go ahead with it as a show-stopping effect for this year's Glasto."

On the night, the effect received an incredible reaction from the audience and massed media, proving to be every bit the WOW factor and visual focus that the band had wanted.

A minute after the end of the Coldplay show, a holding slide was projected as a tribute to the late Des Fallon, XL Video director, project manager and production industry maverick, who died tragically and suddenly in May.

As a footnote, Fallon's final Glastonbury appearance was also a most special moment in the history of XL Video.

Had she fallen asleep because she had been waiting all day and it had got too late?
Or maybe she'd had too many beers?:P

I was at the festival (Arras) in France too, but was a bit disappointed in what I experienced there.:(

Hi Guys!

I'm pretty much a lurker here, but I adore Coldplay. I dvr'd the Glastonbury performance and I'm trying to figure out what the title of a song is. Right after they play "Charlie Brown", Chris moves to the piano and starts a slow song. It was the last song before the first encore. The lyrics start with something with, "Now I never knew to do you wrong...that's what I came here to say

Is there a set list somewhere in this 60 page thread, or does someone happen to know the answer? Thanks in advance!
