Don't get my wrong Coldplay is one of my favorite bands. I live and die Coldplay, lol. But, my question of concern is how long are they going to be remembered. I understand that they are often on the top ten music list (http://www.ranker.com/list-of/music), but what does that really mean in the long run? Will we actually remember Coldplay 25 years down the line, or are they solely a band that is in its prime right now.

We here on Coldplaying will remember them, but I don't know about the haters. They will probably make Coldplay sound like total noobs. I'm afraid no one in my corner of the world will remember them but me. :( Otherwise, in other places? No Idea

They have so much ahead of them as a band, I don't think they will ever be forgotton, especially with all the greatness yet to come.:)

I hope that you are right. And they have made great music, but I am not sure that they will be remembered despite of songs like CLOCKS, VIVA LA VIDA and Yellow.
But memory is short. New generations have their music heroes.

If they went now they'd probably be known as a band the likes of Dire Straits are today. But. I believe they'll be quite a bit higher in terms of regard.
At the rate they're going, I think that they may still be remembered, but most probably only for their earlier works.

i think their hits will be remembered thought then sadly some other great songs wil be forgotten.
they got some remarkable things to be remembered even if just for stat charts, as for instance the uk stamp.
for legacy i'd care more about how many new bands they've influenced, that's for me the legacy of an artist, cause their sound won't vanish and will still 'evolve' with other musicians even if the original musicians are gone or retired.
i kinda agree with zeya, though partially i think early works will be remembered by musicians and professional for their better quality, last hits will be remembered by people in general, imo.

I think by the time they call it a day, there will be a considerable amount more to their music catalogue for us to remember them by......I like to think they are The Beatles of our generation. They will be remembered for generations, I hope.
