the coldplay website shows ticket prices, and it says 75 for the day 150 for the weekend, but bare in mind that starting januari there might be a tax raise on concert tickets which will probably add about 10 euro's to each price...

I've worked at the festival last year. I think the best place to look for a hotel is Maastricht, it's much bigger than Landgraaf (so more hotels). You can take the bus from the festival to the train station, the last train to Maastricht leaves at 00:37 (maybe even later because of Pinkpop).
The festival area has two stages and a big tent.

De Britse band Coldplay wil bij de komende editie van Pinkpop een podium in het midden van het festivalterrein. Dat heeft festivaldirecteur Jan Smeets onthuld op de presentatie van de line-up voor dit jaar, meldt het AD. Het festival vindt op 11, 12 en 13 juni plaats in het Limburgse Landgraaf.

Volgens Smeets is de Britse band de duurste band uit de geschiedenis van het Nederlandse festival. Naast Coldplay zijn Foo Fighters en Kings of Leon de andere twee grote headliners op de komende editie.

Smeets maakte vandaag nog meer namen bekend die dit jaar zullen verschijnen op Pinkpop. Het gaat onder meer om De Staat, Manic Street Preachers, Elbow, Lifehouse en Simpleplan. Op maandag staan 30 seconds to Mars en White Lies geprogrammeerd met de Kings of Leon dus als slotact.

Coldplay staat ook op Rock Werchter deze zomer, maar of Chris Martin en co dezelfde eisen aan Herman Schuermans hebben gesteld voor hun optreden op Rock Werchter is niet geweten.

50,000 Pinkpop tickets sold in single day

Some 50,000 tickets have been sold for the Pinkpop music festival during the first day people could buy them. Some 33,000 of them were weekend tickets, the other 17,000 were single day tickets.

The annual event in the southern province of Limburg will take place between 11 and 13 June. Performances will be given by a number of bands including Manic Street Preachers, Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon.

Tickets were purchased by people in Holland, Belgium and Germany. Those sold in Germany have not yet been included in the tally. Around 50,000 weekend tickets are still available, as well as 10,000 day tickets for Saturday and as many for Sunday.

Hi On 11 June I'm going to the festival pinkpop, to see Coldplay.
I think a lot of songs to be played this song and first Concert their I see and I'm very very excited and waiting lot of time but I really hope there would be not a situation Coldplay will play only six songs: (I wanted to know even though I know I did not really think anyone knows the answer Maybe some songs might be the fifth album, I know it's supposed to come out on October and yet if these are not songs so what I did think Viva era has already ended so if LP4 ends and LP5 not out yet what they will play , Christmas lights? hahaha I'dont think that. even Christmas is over ....

Thanks. We contacted them but we're still not sure wether we can all get on that campsite because we need this paper from the doctor and we can take one person with us. But we are with 5 ppl. It's just in case we can't all get on it even with the right papers if we could still get on camping A.

They're not too far away. Rock Werchter for example, can be worse. There can be a lot of traffic going into the parking sites though.

Looking forward to it. Them playing festival gigs before the new album is out takes us back to the Parachutes/AROBTTH days. :cool:

They're not too far away. Rock Werchter for example, can be worse. There can be a lot of traffic going into the parking sites though.

Well, Pinkpop is known for having the headliners on ridiculously early. I think it's a shame, because you never get the full light show and extra atmosphere that the night time brings.

But on the other hand, it does mean you have to hold your pee a little less longer. :P

I've never been to Pinkpop on a Saturday, but I can imagine there will be quite some traffic jams since it's the first day. I'll try to get there early (around noon probably).

I still haven't decided whether I'll immediately head for the main stage, since I also wanted to see Manic Street Preachers (they finish at 5 pm).

I'm sorry, but I hope they didn't :/ It used to be horrible to have to wait in that area for 5 hours to ensure even a spot there. Maybe if you run you can get back in after Elbow.

I'll be there quite early (between 10:30-11:00) in front of the entrance. 2GreenEyes will also be there early.

If we are allowed to stay in the front area, I'll probably stay there. If not, I probably won't stay at the main stage. Instead, I'll go watch Manic Street Preachers and then return to the fence at the main stage.

I do understand why they'd want to empty the front area after each band. It can't be much fun for a band to perform in front of an audience where the first couple of rows only care about the headliner. On the other hand, there will also be a major crush when the gates open after Elbow.
