It appears my person hasn't received theirs yet. :cry: I even checked the tracking information online today; I sent it on the 16th with 3-5 day delivery, and the tracking info said it left the U.S. from Chicago on the 17th. Beyond that, I'm not sure exactly where it is right now, somewhere across the pond. I thought it would have arrived by now though, because even if it took 5 days, plus the weekend, then it should have arrived by the 23rd. Hopefully it's not lost. I apologize to my person, I really thought it would have been there by now! Well, hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.

I got mine today!!! :D It came from Sweden and is from Olivia. It's a lovely handmade card. I got candy canes and butterflies!! I did a happy dance when I seen it waiting for me. I'll try to post pics tomorrow. I'm still excited!!

I would actually estimate that about half of Team Europe sent their card less than 10 days before Christmas - those cards really didn't stand a chance of getting there in time. I don't think people considered the fact that post always takes longer at Christmas, and then the snow across Europe slowed everything down even more.

I also have 5 people who haven't replied to several requests to confirm if they posted their card. I'm assuming no reply means no card :( I'll send one myself to their matches who are missing out. As Lore said, we started everything earlier this year, I'm really disappointed that so many people have been kept waiting for their cards and that some people appear not to have sent a card at all :(

Online it just says it arrived in Chicago for international departure on the 17th, but nothing more. It should have gotten to my person no later than the 23rd. I bet that everything's not lost in the snow, but the mailmen have felt lost due to the snow.

Many may have received their SS cards already, BUT at their study addresses, but being at home for Christmas they will not be able to read their cards and tell us about it before they return some time in January.

To give people an idea of the kinds of delays that have happened this year... I sent a package to New Jersey via air mail at the beginning of December. Normally that would take 5-6 days, but this time it actually took 3 weeks. The weather seems to have slowed things down considerably :(

I don't think that would be fair though.. What about the newcomers? Maybe they'd like to join in...
I participated last year as well and my card arrived in 5 days, but now, after 1 month my card still hasn't reached its destination :( I suppose the mailing system is messed up everywhere because everything's been a lot slower than usual.
Anyway, all hope's not lost just yet. :) I assume people should be receiving their cards next week, at least this is what I hope..

I think that people who never sent the card shouldn't be allowed next time but newbies should be allowed I guess. We'll definitely try to improve this but this year we did it even earlier than last year and still lots of people haven't received anything :(

I think that people who never sent the card shouldn't be allowed next time but newbies should be allowed I guess. We'll definitely try to improve this but this year we did it even earlier than last year and still lots of people haven't received anything :(

It has to be said, there are cards just arrving now that were sent in the middle of December - a few people in my half of the list didn't send their cards until one or two days before and after Christmas. Those cards were never going to arrive in time, they'll probably get there next week

Also because with the UK snow delay the posties have incompetently chosen to deal with the mail on top of the pile first. Mail fuckery all around the world!
