On American Idol in the third season there was a red headed contestant by the name of John Stevens. Now, at the time I only liked him cuz he looked just like my neighbor/best friend. Later, when he released his album I found it was all in the style of Frank Sinatra. I fell in love with it. It was slow, and smooth, and just had an air of forgotten charm about it. Soon I got some of the actual songs too. I still love them.

The "CSI" franchise. Every show in it has a song from "The Who" as the theme song that plays in the opening credits. ("Who Are You?" for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (the original), "Won't Be Fooled Again" for "CSI: Miami," and "Baba O'Reilly" for "CSI: NY") Also, I think the guitarist was a special guest on one of the episodes on one of them, if I'm not mistaken.
