So, in your opinion, which album was the best? the white stripes' elephant? radiohead's hail to the thief? coldplay's live 2003? muse's absolution or maybe some other band that i forgot to mention cos it's 05:17am here and i'm totally sleepy?

I think blur's think tank was the best.
Such a masterpiece. songs like out of time, brothers and sisters and good song are brilliant... crazy beat is such an awesome song... we've got a file on you it's a short one, but it's soo cool.
Aaah, i luv that album! :D

i'll be back with my list on january 1st. :P

i'd make a list now, but over the next year i'll probably discover half a dozen albums that i didn't hear this year and my list would be completely different anyway.

for me, it has to be Radiohead - H.T.T.T.
but there's also been alot of good albums out this year, for Example: Mew - Frengers ;)

12 memories - Travis
Elephant - White Stripes
Sleeping with ghosts - Placebo.

And of course, Coldplay live

I agree with the above as it concerns HTTT and Elephant: Two classics, IMO. Me and a friend at work are always talking music, and these two have been our references points for rock music since their release. I think I'll be listening to three two forever.

Travis's effort was also great, and I REALLY like what The Shins put out.

I think the Black Album is VERY good, but it's clearly not as good as either The Blueprint or Reasonable Doubt ... but I highly recommend it.

I would recommend downloading "December 4th" ... that will give you a good idea what the Black Album is all about ... maybe "Dirt Off Your Shoulders" too.

I went through with a friend tonight and compiled my top 10 albums of the year, but after hearing this list and talking about it for a while i realized there's a lot of music i haven't hear this year ... so take it for what it's worth and hopefully talk about it a little:

Hail to the Thief, Radiohead
Elephant, The White Stripes
The Black Album, Jay-Z
Fever to Tell, Yeah Yeah Yeahs
De-Loused in the Comatorium, The Mars Volta
Audioslave, Audioslave
The Diary of Alicea Keys, Alicea Keys
Chutes Too Narrow, The Shins
12 Memories, Travis
Kish Kash, Basement Jaxx

i am in my place

i reckon the lucksmiths naturaliste and travis 12 memories are the best plus coldplay live. if you haven't heard of the lucksmiths, you should try and download some of their music and check out their site, www.thelucksmiths.com.au
