so all has been quiet in the Muse camp, we all know they have been recording soooooooooo......

from Musellive:

Is it getting hot in here?
We can feel the heat. The amount of Muse news flooding in our direction has been relentless! We have new album rumours, mysterious youtube videos and the forums are buzzing! The build up to album number 5 has begun!
New Muse Album - September!
A former publicist for Warner Music has announced that a September '09 release date has been earmarked for Muse's currently untitled new album. Muse have been working on their latest offering for nearly 2 years now, and September seems to be a reasonable time for its release.

'Insider information' hints about next release date

Muse could be set to release their next album in September, followed by a European tour, "an insider close to the band's record label, Warners" has claimed.

Muse fan site Microcuts.net suggestes that the band's yet-to-be-titled fifth studio album is slated for a September release, thanking a Warner associate for the information.

Last November bassist Chris Wolstenholme wrote to fans, saying \"it would be nice\" for the band to be able to release the album \"in the second half\" of 2009, but added that they were not working to a strict schedule.

"It is more important for us to make the best album we have made to date," he wrote, "and if that means it comes out in 2010 then we don't mind".

he probably had to be involved with composing that song quite a bit....most of it does seem to reflect Matt's general music style. the intro kind of resembles like the intros to TAB and B&H

The international title thing, I'm personally not all that fussed. I mean I like it, don't get me wrong, and the piano certainly sounds Matt-Bellamy-ish, but you know, it's not like the Muse we know and love :P

Hey guys, as an avid Coldplay and Muse fan, I have a question. Someone told me that Matt helped Coldplay make the song Politik. Does anyone know if this is true? I asked the oracle, but the chances of him/her responding are slim to none, so I thought i would ask here. :)

Yes yes, I know its been about six years since I last posted but you know, time flies when you're having fun. Look, I've been busy alright..! Ok, I have no excuse.. Just slack.
We have been working pretty hard though on the album and its actually now starting to take shape. Matt is doing vocals on some tracks as we speak which normally means they're nearly finished. We've probably got two more to record from scratch then we might be almost looking at a complete album. Then strings, synth sparkles, llamas toenails, gongs and anything else we can think of that will help us perceive they are finished. The hardest bit is finishing.
It sounds fucking great though..
Im very looking forward to getting out there and playing this live. Im pretty sure we'll be out playing shortly after the summer. Plans are coming together..

See you soon,

Dom.

There's a soundcheck for my school's St. Paddy's Day bash going on outside (I know, day after) and just a minute ago they were running through the bass riff and drums for "Hysteria". It'd be cool if they played that tonight...

Last concert here a band finished their first song with the outro of "Knights of Cydonia". It was really funny because we're a conservative Christian school so that could be a reason why they skipped the atheistic lyrics in the beginning of the song. :P

Oh, I'm also almost positive that right after the hysteria riff, the drummer went into the rythm of either In Limbo or Morning Bell off of Kid A. :stunned:

Muse will be supporting U2 on at least one date of their 14-city "360ş" Tour. The following has been published on the IZOD Center's (a venue in New Jersey which U2 will be performing at in September) website.
QuoteBeginning June 30th in Barcelona, the tour will visit 14 cities across Europe before it launches in North America in early September. The tour features an innovative 360° design which affords an unobstructed view for the audience. U2 360° marks the first time a band has toured in stadiums with such a unique and original structure [...]
Although this has not yet been announced by Muse's management, its appearance on the IZOD Center's website can almost be considered confirmation. It is not yet clear if Muse will be supporting U2 on their European / UK tour. Share your frustration / joy in the comments.

I agree! but I think u underestimate the fan base here in the US. They sell out their shows that they do here, certainly last tour they did. Granted they weren't playing stadiums but were playing normal sized arenas for the most part... That says something.. And after this they will certainly be a lot bigger here!!:D

Muse have revealed the name of their new album today (May 22) through their Twitter page.

This morning the band announced that their fifth record will be titled 'The Resistance' via their page on the social networking site, Twitter/musewire.

The band have been working on the follow-up to 2006's 'Black Holes and Revelations' for the past year in Milan and Lake Como in Italy. The album is being produced by the band and mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent (Oasis, Depeche Mode).

Frontman Matt Bellamy had previously revealed that an orchestra had been recruited to play on the album, which he decribed as "symphonic".

'The Resistance' is expected to be released in September.

My friends and I unfortunately had to bail on getting U2 tickets. But I'm not gonna let that happen with Muse. :sneaky:

Ok, I think I'm going to go see them this tour :wideeyed:. One of my friends just keeps going on about how awesome they are live, and how he thinks they out-do Coldplay in terms of performance (and he's seen both bands several times). Although I guess he's kind of biased, since he saw them before even their first album was released in 1999 in some pub in Devon (if you believe that :P) and he's been hooked ever since.

It'll be the O2 Aerna for me! And I hope The Resistance is better than their last album, it didn't sound as raw as their previous albums for me. But !

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS (Really cool about the tour, I really hope to see them if they come)

I REALLY REALLY NEED HELP, SERIOUSLY I NEED YOU!!!!!!
MY GIRLFRIEND JUST AGREED TO GET UP ON STAGE WITH ME AT THE IMITATION CONTEST OF MY SCHOOL!!!!!!

She will dance kinda sexy haha cause she likes Supermassive Black Hole and so I agree to do that song haha don't get me wrong that would be more interesting (if you knew me I'm kinda shy lil nerdy boy) and exciting but I was originally going to do New Born sooo I really want to get crazy with it but also dance along to SMBH and

SOOO I NEED A MIX OF BOTH SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE AND NEW BORN!!!!!
PLEASE HELP ME, IF ANYONE REALLY COULD HELP ME TELL ME!!!!

I want to start with NB's piano, then play that amazing riff on guitar and then instead of going to the verse, start with SMBH. this one could stay just the same, but then in the end go to back to NB but not all the rest, maybe 1st guitar verse, chorus, solo, chorus, end.
Or just play a shorter version of NB and then by the end star with SMBH
Please help!!! it would be amazing don't you think? I know how to play them and the lyrics so it would seem very real. I'd be Mat :D .

I've just had a look for you for the London gigs but it's indeed sold out for the presale tickets. I'm sure they'll sell other tickets tomorrow for the normal sale and even by a few weeks they'll sale other tickets. If you refer to Coldplay tickets, it was sold out for the Paris gig and now they're selling other tickets. Actually, they block numerous tickets for any reason (I think it's for companies) and then they sell them again several weeks after. Don't worry but watch over the websites, maybe tomorrow ...:)

Right here's the deal. Up til about 11.30 last night i had practically no chance of going to the O2 in November. Felt gutted all day. That's when my mate comes on msn and completely takes me by surprise me by asking if i'd like to go with him! I didn't even think he'd be interested so i didn't ask him, but he said he'd love to go! :o Anyway, i've just managed to get 2 fairly good seated tickets! I'm so happy! :D

I managed to get 1 ticket for thursday 12th at the O2, but I have no idea where I'm seated. The details on the summary don't make sense in context of the official seating chart:

Section - TICKET
Row - 73
Type - A-TYPE
Seat - 3

Chart:

I've never gotten into Muse..they always seemed a bit too Green Day for my liking..but they played Time is Running Out on the radio today and although I've heard it before I hadn't actually given it a proper listen til today. Some of the lyrics struck a chord with me and it made me stop and listen...and then I decided I quite liked this track...so...

...anyone got any recommendations for other Muse tracks that I should get my head round next..?

A) I love Muse and absolutely loathe Green Day, so I take offense to that. :P
B) "Time is Running Out" is certainly a candidate for my favorite track, so great choice.
C) Some basic track recommendations (for a newcomer) - Hysteria, Plug In Baby, New Born, Bliss, Stockholm Syndrome, Take a Bow, Starlight, Knights of Cydonia

That's more well-known material, but it's easiest to get into.

A - Well in my defense I haven't paid much attention to Muse, but they seemed like a bit of a black eyeliner band like Green Day :P Musiclly, I thought they sounded too much like Radiohead...

..I've heard Hysteria on the radio a few times too..and kept mistaking it for a Radiohead song.. :\ (but I do like that one ) Knights of Cydonia I just tried, but didn't care for that much..
