What are some good piano songs by Muse? My friend told me the other day they had great piano songs, now i'm interested in learning some.
Apocalypse Please is the easiest....it's just chords.
Then Sunburn, Ruled By Secrecy, Starlight, and New Born...as well as a few other songs (if you want, try YouTube-ing up piano covers of Citizen Erased and Map of the Problematique done by other fans).

Butterflies and Hurricanes is good, but too tricky for me....fast arpeggios and lots of hand cross-overs. I still can't do it without flubbing a few notes. But then again I'm not that good on the piano anyway. :laugh3:

What Dom said in his blog:

Hello..

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd try and breath a little life back into this page and post an update.
Anyway, we're back in Devon working on a symphonic monster among other things and should hopefully start a bit of real recording in a couple of weeks. Definitely excited and already looking forward to playing this stuff on the road next year..
Its nice to be back down here working on music together which is something we haven't done for a very long time. Maybe about 8 years!.. Jesus, Its been too long. So we've been retracing some old steps and remembering where we came from.
There has also been another addition to the Wolstenholme family. Hopefully they will start their own band one day...

Cheers,

Dom.

One of the question
Did you ever thought about doing a "fans-will-choose-the-set" gig? Why/why not? And how about doing it...In the next month?
Yes, I think this would be a good idea. Maybe not the whole set (otherwise it would all be Origin tracks or B sides!).But due to the extent of the back catalogue I reckon it would be a good idea to have votes on the website so we can get an idea of which old songs would be best appreciated live. we're comparing Muse live to coldplay live?? hahhahaha. i know people who have seen the likes of Led Zeppelin and The Who perform say that Muse are one of the best they have ever seen. can't say i've ever come across anyone make comparisons between a cp show and the greats of rock n roll.

and to the post above this. if chris martin was a solo artist then i would think he was great. but last time i checked there are 4 people in Coldplay (i know its hard to tell sometimes) and all chris martin does it play simple piano loops and strums three chords on a guitar whereas matt dom and chris play some awesome complex riffs and still manage to put on a great visual spectacle.

coldplay are great in the studio and muse are great on stage. at the end of the day they're both just as good as each other. but in different ways.

I'd rate Muse as my #1 band, but Coldplay are certainly up there.

Studio/Albums - No idea who's better, It's far too difficult to try and claim one artist is 'just better' than another, and I think people should just learn to move on and appreciate the music itself.

Live - I've noticed that Chris does talk to the crowd more, but I still think Muse have quite a big edge in the 'best live performances' department.

And yes I LOVED the xmas pressy too - Haven't seen Deadstar live FOR AGES!! :D

It irks me just a little bit that a LOT of people only notice Muse now because of the Twilight movie.

OK it's good that they are being heard by more people, but it's disappointing that it has to be because of a teenage vampire love story rather than Muse's own talent.

I've had so far about 5 customers asking for Muse this week. ALL of them eventually bought BH&R. Which is fine and dandy, but I hope they'd give their older albums a listen eventually.

I'm waiting for their next album which will release later on this year, normally.
