I've been listening to muse a lot lately after a quick break so woo hooo! (cos i got addicted to travis but yeah :P )
Random but anyone knows if the official guitar tabs for Black holes and revelations is out yet?

Yeah, I'm growing to like Cold War Kids myself - got the album a few weeks ago since it was 2/$25 at HMV, which makes this even more annoying since I actually kind of enjoy the opener. :( Have you seen the videos of them playing on the streets of Paris, Saint John and God Make Up Your Mind? Not bad stuff!

those videos are awesome :D
Cold War Kids are just...awesome :)
and i'm sooooooooooo excited for them to be opening for Muse!!

oh and LOVELY picture of Matt!!
i quite like the new guitar - so sparkly teehee
and the hair...yeeeeeeah :(
but as we've been saying...it'll grow back :cheesy:

I love this band too and i'm really sad because i can't go to their concert, here in Paris:cry:
(the tickets were sold quickly)
I couldn't attend the concert either as it was too late to buy a ticket. I've had a look on E-Bay. Tickets are sold but people who sell them exaggerate with ticket prices. They already know they'll sell them whatever the prices are. :veryangry:

I've found this : http://www.paroles.net/lyrics/artis/2225
Just don't click on blue or red buttons, they're only advertisments. It's nice to have the words of the songs.

Quite a lot are missing actually...

About the concert at the Parc des Princes, I could've bought a ticket but when I went to, they were really too expensive : Muse are good live, but I would never pay that much for a concert, except maybe Radiohead or Pink Floyd.

julissofine

^ Agree. :)

About the ticket price, I always wonder if the band know about this.
And if they do, can't they just do something about it?
I mean, why does it have to be that expensive?
Because they're world-class rockstars or beacuse the concert costs too much..
I hope it's not because they (I mean whoever determine the price) want to get as much profit as they can.
Classic issue, I know.

Gah! His new cut and new guitar are both horrid. :( Well, his hair will grow....

http://eguworks.com/egu/muse/2.jpeg

Well, the guitar is still better than anything I'll ever get my hands on, but still.

And friggin' Micro Cuts and Unintended?! :bigcry: Why couldn't they play that a month ago? :bigcry:

:o Who was on that gig?

Lore
02-06-2007, 04:52 AM
Dirty Pretty Things have just been added to the bill of Muse's Wembley Stadium gig on Saturday, 16th June. Also playing that day will be The Streets and Rodrigo y Gabriela. For further information and to check ticket availability go to Muse's website. (http://www.muse.mu/index.php)

The price of the ticket depends on the area where the concert takes place. We have "Stade de France" which is a stadium, and i have noticed concerts are more expensive over there even though it contains 80.000 people. There are other smaller places where the entrance is less expensive and where the sound is much better because it's indoor.

Cirrus Minor
03-06-2007, 07:41 PM
They are more expensive for the audience. I think they are for the production too (because you have to blast full-power to make everyone hear it), but I doubt the overcost reaches about twenty bucks per fan, regarding the fact that there are many many of them.

So it looks like it will be more to do with the visual effects than the music, the mark of a poor band's whose music lacks the edge.

Yeah about the DVD, if it's the show for which they used the most special effects (balloons, gymnasts, etc) then it must be on the DVD. But maybe they'll use this all stuff in other stadium concerts, like the one at the Parc des Princes, Paris...

Went last night. Got into the so called Golden Circle section at the front. Needless to say it was a fucking hectic gig! Loved the fact we had Zane Lowe DJing in between acts. Rodrigo and Gabriela were stunning, I was so chuffed to see Dirty Pretty Things live as I love them but as expected The Streets were shite but hell it just made us love Muse even more! When they entered the stadium and came down the middle runway we were next to them. We could not have been in a better place for the full gig experience in my opinion. Add me on Facebook to see some pictures if you want.

Went on Saturday and i'm still trying to recover. That was simply FUCKING INCREDIBLE from start to finish!!!!!!!!!!!! We had an amazing setlist, some of the songs they played i never thought i'd get to see them perform live. Highlights for me (although the whole thing was a highlight in itself!) were Blackout (the most beautiful performance of the night, with the dancers attached to giant balloons), Feeling Good, Unintended, Stockholm Syndrome (because everyone just went completely nuts to it, as usual!), Bliss and Sunburn. The sky was completely overcast the whole time but that just added to the atmosphere imo (and it only rained for about a minute during New Born so they didn't have to close the roof which was a bonus! :D)

Newborn is actually no big surprise : they always play it. And to reassure you I think the first setlist was better than the second : you've had Man of Mistery and I always find Bliss disappointing live.

I've seen Bliss from some live bootlegs, and I kinda agree with you I must say. But Matt singing "Give me the peace and joy in your mind..." is still worth to see and hear it by yourself. :)

I really wanna see Muse live again this september at a festival, but the tickets (2-day passes) are $120, and the only bands I would wanna watch are Muse of course, Arctic Monkeys, the Killers and Editors.

It's a little far away too so I'd have to stay somewhere over night, and I'm only 16 and I can't drive there myself and no one wants to pay that much to go.

I read this on coldplay.com :

In the city 14/9/98
Jonny left his pedals in Devon, so we were in Manchester without ___ sound. But a nice truck driver friend of my mum’s got them as far as Doncaster, and Phil got them from there. We were 51st on the bill, and Muse headlined. We were jealous, but then we always are. CM

Is that mean they still jealous at Muse till now? :D

Well I prefer RadioMad's one, the intro and outro are better, and the rhythm is... slower, which is better, the guitar sounds neat and the solo is fantastic : Matt has at last finished this MAKE-AS-MUCH-NOISE-AS-I-CAN-WITH-MY-GUITAR-EVEN-IF-IT-SOUNDS-HORRIBLE phase, which is a very good thing.

I've been very often pissed about they're need to play their songs twice as fast as on the album, as if they were on a hurry. New Born was one of them.

And i do believe that songs are much more powerful when they're slow.

At the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium.
Saw them loads at festivals though. They're very fond of playing them.

The first time I saw them, waaaay back in 2000, I also met the guys after the gig. They were really nice, especially Matt who had this cool vibe surrounding him. I always knew he would end up being the big rockstar that he'd become, but he even surpassed it beyond my wildest expectations. And so did Dom and Chris, ofcourse.

The young sister of a friend was given for free a ticket to the Parc des Princes last saturday (I couldn't go because of surprise surgery on my left arm (-> No guitar for the next three weeks)). So she went for nothing and as she came back, said it was boring. I would've killed her if I could, but my arm hurt me way too much.

They can't really plan any bigger venues in the UK bar Knebworth House.

Well, Matt was quoted in NME saying wembley wouldn't be too big and overblown, and that they'd do a more visually spectacular show in the future....

but for now, they're gonna keep recoring and not release an album in the traditional way, maybe some download only stuff, then a new album.

Plug_In_Coldplaying (sorry don't know your name) yep I was there on the opening night.....went with my friend who is also on this board (crazyduckette).

We'd both been looking forward to it for months, still buzzing off the last time we saw them. Even made t-shirts, haha :laugh4:

It definatley wasn't overblown....at no point during the gig did I think they'd gone totally overboard or it was cringeworthy or anything like that. The only thing that was pretty flashy was the balloon thing (which I took a video of if you fancy a loosky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0vjeeT4AE8) but even that was really nicely, and it fitted beautifully with the song.
Most of the time I think we were too busy moshing like crazy and singing our hearts out to really think much about how incredible the stage set and lights really looked....it was all a bit overwhelming, especially with it in a venue of that size.

Yet again, for me, Stockholm Sydrome & Citizen Erased were the main highlights....those two songs live just blow my fucking head off. :freak: Newborn, Unintended and Micro Cuts were awesome too, I wasn't expecting those ones.

I think they will only get bigger and better....if that's humanly possible!!! :stunned:

Hi guys, i think this thread is pretty appropriate as a thread rather than being posted in the Muse thread :) as it could be applicable to everyone

Someone on the Muselive site came up with the idea of getting one of Muse's greatest tracks 'Citizen Erased', off of the second album 'Origin of Symmetry' into the UK top 40 for the week of 9th July 2007 ......

'Members of Muselive.com and other fansites are trying to get Citizen Erased, possibly one of Muse's greatest tracks, into the charts.

This is possible by paying for digital singles on sites such as HMVDigital, iTunes and 7Digital. We recommend iTunes.

Places for Download

HMV Digital

7digital * Accepts Paypal ** Also counts for foreign downloads!

iTunes

Remember just to download Citizen Erased
If you have any ideas or feel like helping out, send me a PM ()

Bear in mind though, for a single to enter the top 40, 4,000-5,000 singles must be purchased.

The track has reached 1st position on 7Digital's "Top Tracks"!'

So if there is anyone here that would like to contribute to this effort then it would be much appreciated.

For more information visit www.myspace.com/ce4no12007

thanks very much :D

yeah you can, i think you'll have to get it off of 7digital as that counts for foreign downloads, i think you have to enter a postcode somewhere along the line and you can enter cm2 8az i think that'll work ;)

Good stuff to all those that have already bought it :D

I took my point & shoot, because I was worried about security being pretty tight and taking anything better off me. But to be honest, we barely got searched!!! They didn't even look in my bag properly, just glanced in the top.

Then during the gig there's a guy with a big Canon DSLR near us!!! I was gutted!:(

Thanks to everyone who took part! We have no idea how we've done yet - we're hoping for a top 100 position - top 40 if we're lucky!

So, here's a small roundup of what we've achieved.

Number 1 spot on 7Digital.com for 5 consecutive days
Number 41 spot on iTunes Alternative
5th Most Downloaded Muse song on iTunes (Since ever!)
News hitting Kerrang Radio and Virgin Radio websites
TV Coverage in Holland
Facebook, Myspace groups.
Ridiculously impressive YouTube videos (with "honours")

But you haven't achieved getting onto the top 100 downloaded tracks on iTunes.

Even America by Razorlight is at 81 & even Don't Stop Me Now by Queen is at 72. If you were on the top 100, i would be impressed. Number 1 on 7digital means nothing as 7digital is a small player

For such a big band who managed to sell out 2 nights at Wembley for whose fan's fail to get a song into the top 100 in a week that they were all mass downloading is a failure. If it got into the top 75 I would have said well done, but it wouldn't have been the first time a band's fans have come together to mass download a song back into the chart and I guess it won't be the last time.

I didn't get the nickname "The evil one" for no reason :D

It shows though, some of the people who went to Wembley were Casual Fans, who went because they "liked supermassive black hole" or another couple singles, thinking Muse's first album was Absolution and ignoring Muse's good roots before they went "space-rock"
