Tim Wheeler: Coldplay began 'because of Ash'

Chris Martin was inspired to start Coldplay by Ash's song Angel Interceptor, Ash's frontman Tim Wheeler has claimed. During a live interview on their official website, the band was asked if they were still friendly with Chris. Tim said: "He's a good guy, he's a massive Ash fan forever."

He continued, joking: "We were partly responsible for their success because he did say whenever he heard Angel Interceptor on the radio and heard that we were the same age as him, he was so jealous that that it really drove him to get his band together."

I watched it at the time ( about 10 times haha) and did mention on here somewhere that he taked about Chris being a big fan and Anna tried several times to record it for me but it didn't work so I couldn't post the Chris bit.
