Wow, I would have picked more Oasis fans. But it is true that Blur have had more of an influence on Coldplay's music.

Still, Oasis #1 for me. Blur never had anything as good as Oasis' first 2.

Oasis have songs that nobody will forget (Don't look back in anger :heart:) but they don't have the perfect discography, blur have it.

thats not what i meant by my question. i was just curious to know why blur's worldwide success was so different to oasis' every though they've been sort of cocooned into the same genre of britpop. cos i must admit my idea of blur is nothing more than WOOO HOOO, and 95% of australian music fans are the same. but alex answered my question.

I do, at least. I love Gorillaz even more (if there's a way to compare both projects). Gorillaz (well, Albarn as Gorillaz) made some really extraordinary songs.

A Gorillaz song had come on while I was with some friends and I started to talk about how much I enjoyed the Gorillaz and kind of drifted off to where I started to talk about Blur. My heart fell when no one in the room had even heard of Blur. I was starting to think that either my friends don't have much of a grasp on music or Blur really was kind of losing it's name on the map when it comes to kids around my age (I'm 17). But I was assured with my former assumption when I mentioned Oasis while trying to explain who Blur were and one of my friends told me, "well they [Oasis and Blur] obviously weren't that big if I don't know who they are."

As I've said before Blur were 10 times more innovative than Oasis, but the last time I looked in the dictionary innovative didn't mean 'better'. Oasis ultimately made the better music.
