For me good music is gone. Do you know any other group besides Coldplay, Oasis, Travis, U2, The Cranberries and Beck that I can listen and I call the good music ( Please ALIVE bands )

lol me too....only 3
omg how can you say good music is gone. that doesnt make any sense to say. good music comes out everyday....you just havnt went out and discovered it yet. i bet if you go out and listening to different stuff you find and stay away from tv/radio whatever, then you'll find a lot of good stuff you'll like.....and you'll find it all and like it without anyone telling you its good.

I know what you mean ginger......... but I see it in this way.....
in the late 60', 70', 80' and the beggining of the 90' there were 100 bands for exampke and 90 of them played good music, some of them are not what I like as a music style but I reckon (not sure if that's the word) that some of them have good guitar, bass, drums, lyrics, vocal.... etc.... now, instead of that we have everythign made on studio, comercial, etc.... now are a few.......... anyways there's still good music on the market..... following my criterios..............
Anyway, ginger you're right, I just didn't expressmy idea very clearly...

Apart from the classic rock legends and Coldplay, there is not much good music anymore. But you can still listen to Coldplay and the music of the past. By the way, Bob Dylan and Sting agree with us. According to them, the music business hasn´t offered us good stuff for over 20 years.

...the past has given us so much good music. (that´s my solace)

In terms of quality, music has gone over it's peak.

Personally I'm enjoying a lot of the music that is coming out the past couple years. I don't think it has as big a place in todays culture as it used to however. There is just so much going on these days, the internet, satellite tv, countless video game systems, etc....

It depends from man to man.
To me, this music era is quite good (I mean, I find what I like and stick with it...and expanding my taste's a matter of time)

For the most part it is. Because the masses, for the most part are too busy listening to bands like Nickelback, Hinder, or My Chemical Romance, which then makes everything else look bad in a way, and no-one pays attention to anything that is actually musically creative.

IMO, the 90's and 00's are better decades than the 80's in music. And I mean it.
I understand what you think, Sternly, the MTV musical landscape of today is ugly, but if you search harder, you'll find great bands.
I'll recommend you these :
Archive
Venus
The Mars Volta
Explosions In The Sky
And of course Radiohead. If you don't know them, then rush in a store and buy all of their albums, 'coz they're all fantastic.
Don't despair. Good music barely survives but is still alive.

Truly good music comes from small bands who don't get noticed by the mass media, and so don't get shoved into your face every week. Dig deep enough passed the main-line music magazines and into those magazines which can only be found at music-shops, and you will find some gems.

saying good music's gone is a ridiculous statement
there's a lot of good bands nowadays
you just need to discover those bands

It was good in the start to discover new music, but now every band and their dog has got a myspace page, it doesn't work anymore.

Give The Verve a listen if you haven't already, and Doves also. And Blur also, great British talent that's very different to a lot of the 'indie' stylee bands that are out at the moment. I discovered a great singer today called Skye Edwards, totally by chance, and now I'm even thinking of buying her album! Yes I know, success hey.

MySpace is a great way of finding new music that's totally different to what's played on the radio - Chasing Cars anyone? Great song, but has anyone else felt the urge to throw something at a radio when it's being played for the millionth time. I'm going off topic now, but yeah there is lots of great music, you just have to look for it. Oh yes I meant to say, Embrace are so under rated - if you want to see a band, other than Coldplay, that do what they do cos they love music then I suggest you buy Out Of Nothing CD/DVD, watch the documentary on the DVD of the secret gig tour, you'll see what I mean.
PS. I know Embrace have had high charting albums an' all, but still they don't seem to get the plaudits they deserve. And they're mates with the Coldplay boys! What more could you want from a band.
