Coldplay are pleased to announce a tour of Latin America for February/March 2010. The seven stadium shows will mark the end of the band's Viva La Vida world tour, which has so far seen them play 159 shows to 2.75 million fans across 25 countries.

The new dates are as follows:

well angie.. i live in mcallen, tx which is on the border.. it sure isn't as safe as it used to be.. but it's mostly on border towns..
now the thing about el estadio universitario is that it's on the outskirts of monterrey.. on a little suburb called san nicolas de los garza, nuevo leon. i;ve only been there once for a soccer game and i'm not sure how the situation is with hotels nearby or things like that. i'll look into it.

Expedia shows Hampton Inn & Suites Monterry Norte as being pretty close and it looks OK and has OK reviews. It also offers a free airport shuttle service. I asked for the week off at work last night and I got it so I may do Monterrey and Guadalajara. :D

I live in Dallas TXand monterrey is only 9 hours away from here, since my inlaws live in Monterrey i have a place to stay and my sister inlaw is going to drive me to the concert and take back to the house!!! LOL!! i personally dont like the city, eveytime i go im so afraid!! but I will risk it for coldplay it will be only a few days!!! the good thing is that I speak spanish perfectly lol!!! we all should meet there so we got feel alone!!!! and that way The guys know that we came all the way from the USA!!!! jejejejeje!!!! i will be wearing the Wembley Yellow t shirt and may be we need to take the yellow glow sticks and the crowns!!!!!

As long as you are not a cop you're safe....
WEll MOnterrey is not what it used to be, (I haven't been there in 2 or 3 years, though) but it's still a safe city, I mean, just remember it's a big one so take care. ANd about drug wars, the problem is mainly in the border, but at the moment the states that are the most dangerous are Chihuahua, Michoacan and Guerrero. But you don't have to worry about it, even if you go there you should worry about thieves and muggers, not drug dealing.

and a pit ticket (in america shows) is like standing right by the stage :D
usually in american venues its pretty much all seating except for a little section in the front, around the world there is basically all standing for the most part on the floor, or a bigger section of it :rolleyes:

oh yeahhh and my mom paid 250 for the concert tickets by us, so i guess if we bring it up to about 300 for the standing seats :wacky:

Good luck with that, just be sure to get the tickets as soon as possible. And if my memory is not failing, the zone where the stadium is, which is inside the university, is not cool at all. I doubt you find a place near there to stay, but sicne I don't remember well about distances in Monterrey I can not tell you well, so ask for someone like coldplayer_rh who knows better since he lives tehre

Well, you could give it a try but to be completely honest I don't think it would work. I've tried in the past to get presale tickets in the US and it won't let because my country of residence is Mexico. So as far as I know presales only work for residents of the country where the show will be :thinking:

I've tried in the past to get presale tickets in the US and it won't let because my country of residence is Mexico. So as far as I know presales only work for residents of the country where the show will be :thinking:

cuz i have Cablevision, from Multimedios Redes, and theres ALWAYS they giving tickets for concierts...and ALWAYS are from TicketMaster...

the tickets are about to end...till 11:30, time that i buy them, it was only Cancha 1, Cancha 2 and Sol General avilable...the rest were SOLD OUT
i was really scare...xD

i sleep over 12:30 in the morning from today, til i wake up on 7:00...then i go to make a line outside of the most centric place of sale...more than 30 people where there...
oh, and IT WAS RAINING!!

I don't think they'll do a big setlist change, mainly because it's a show they haven't played anywhere in latinamerica. And about songs to add, I would DIE if they would add shiver :dead: And about Speed of Sound.. weren't they playing that one at the stadium gigs?? :thinking: If that's the case I would assume they would play it here as well :D
