:DPlease vote for me for the Best Newcomer award 2009.
I have a story to share with everyone so you understand how much Coldplay means to me.
It was December 2008 and my aunt was sick with cancer.
Her husband tried to take care of her,but felt like there was nothing he could do.
We found him lying on his bedroom floor unconcious.
He had been sick for a while because he was recovering from a heart attack and was weak.We found out that he had fallen from weakness and hit his head on the bedroom dresser.
He was let out of the hospital the next day at the same time my aunt was having surgery to remove the cancer.
We went to check on my uncle the next morning and found him dead.
I don't really want to talk about how he died, but I will never forget it.
Between my uncle dying and my aunt being so sick it was very hard to cope with everything. All I did was listen to music and soon I was taking a huge interest in it.I have always been into music, even as a child.I had been listening to Coldplay for about 10 years at the time when their single "Violet Hill" was released it was like it was written for me.Every word that Chris sang was exactly how I felt.Every guitar riff,Beat of drum,And bass line matched my emotions.
I will never forget the first time I heard the words "Was a long and dark december, from the rooftops I remember there was snow, white snow"
When I heard those word I pictured my uncle's funeral and remembered that I wasn't able to look in the direction of the casket so instead I looked out the window the entire time, staring at a beautiful church cathedral across the street with snow covering the rooftop.
It truely was a long and dark December and I'm glad that I had Coldplay to listen to.their music really helped me get through everything that had happened and for that I am forever grateful.
I'm sorry if my post ran a bit long, but I really wanted to let everybody know how much Coldplay means to me.I hope Coldplay inspires somebody else in the way they have inspired me.
