I just received this information from Craig (coldplaying-forever27 (http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/member.php?u=41589)) after asking if he would phone Wembley and demand to speak to a supervisor.:
Craig said: "I phoned up and got just some random gal, and i asked and managed to get through to the event supervisor, Martin Smithson, and was told, that, anyone attending the show who queues at the wrong gate, will be told, Catagorically, that they must leave the queue and join the end of the queue they should have been in. also he said that the two gates, will have just one queue each, and that they will be let in simultaneousely."
So we should now reactivate my thread about swapping tickets if people want to queue together.
You have been warned!!:stunned::stunned::stunned:

ok, so wait, there are 2 queues right - which lead into gates b&C and H&J. The one for H&J is north east ramp? Is this right?

oh, ok. So, I just want to make sure I've got this right:
There are TWO main queues, which lead into one two gates each (is there a fourth ga entrance?)
The North east ramp queue goes into H&J and somewhere else....
What is the other ramp queue called?
marianatsl
14-09-2009, 06:30 PM
B or C tickets got South east Ramp
lafferty23
14-09-2009, 06:37 PM
ok so:
2 queues:
North East Ramp > Gates H&J and M&N
South East Ramp > Gates B&C and F&G

Craig apparently is checking on that 2 gates, 3 gates information also.

Oh that would be great, cause so far I've read of people with gates B&C, H&J, M&N and F&G, so that makes 4 entrances, not 2, unless I'm not more able to count properly
marianatsl
14-09-2009, 06:44 PM
I have B or C gates, but on the small side part of the ticket it says "F or G".
no idea what it means. I'm sticking with the big letters on the big part of the ticket :laugh3:

14-09-2009, 06:47 PM
OK so wait, now I"m confused, too. There are different gates, but only 2 "ramps." Many gates per ramp. Only one queue for each ramp, and then...you have to rush into the right gate???:uhoh::confused: I'm sure it can't be that complicated, but never having been there, it's hard to picture.

If you're not sure which gates you need because your tix are at Box Office (me included), I suggest you ring 0844 980 8001 tomorrow during work hours to find out what gates it says on the tickets.
Get in touch with your ticket vendor FIRST to find out your ticket numbers (as printed on the ticket) as the ticketmaster/seetickets/ticketline reference aint going to be much use for Wembley staff.

Can I call this number from France ?
I ordered my tickets on seetickets (I wont even start on their customer services either..), and all the informations I got by mail is this
"2 x STANDING & LEVEL 1 UNRESERVED at £49.50"
So I should call/email seetickets to ask what gate is written on my tickets ? (sorry to bother)

call them. see tickets e-mail customer service sucks even more than the telephone. you might get faster answers on the phone.

Who does that phone number lead to?
Are you saying that there actually is somebody who can tell what gate it says on the tickets?
On email yesterday ticketline told me that they could not tell what gate it says on my tickets (they do not have access to the physical tickets) and the tickets are about to go to the box office (I could therefore not get the tickets sent to the hotel now). So I think getting in touch with ticketline again would be pointless...
How many digits does the ticket number contain of? (to be sure)

Hello, its Craig,
Now, I cannot apologise enough for both my silence, and all of the confusion.
The gentleman on the phone to me said that for the GA people, there will be two queues. Now, we seem to only know of people who have tickets for H&J M&N + B&C. But there may be a fourth gate aka F&G. Just because none of the colplayers in attendance dont have tickets for this gate, doesnt meen that it doesnt exist.
This said it is extremely strange that no-one would have tickets for that gate considering the amount of people going, (strange but not impossible). And i will contact the guy again tomorrow to find out just whether there is a 4th gate, and also which queues exactly everyone needs to be in for each gate.
But until then everyone thats all i have, but dont worry too much about it people, and again i apologise for not getting back very quick, and also confusing everyone.
Thanks
I promise i will call him tomorrow, and put an end to the speculation, but when i said that people in the wrong queues wont be let in, i meant it. That is a direct quote from the guy, and i didnt ask him about the box office people, but again i will tomorrow.

I am coordinating with Craig closely on this. I would have phoned Wembley myself, but I'm in Germany so that isn't so straightfoward, which is why I asked him if he could help out.
If I spot any relevant points or questions I will forward them to him via FB.

have been keeping up with a little bit of this via twitter.
we have Coldplayers with tickets who know which gates they're queuing at. what I want to try & organise is some sort of buddy system so that we can co-ordinate people in the queues. not quite sorted out in my head how it will work yet.
Until we hear what Craig finds out tomorrow, i suggest the following:
if you were planning to queue early, and have to collect tickets from the box office, start queuing at the box office. that means the minute the box office opens, you'll be at the front to get your tickets.
the rest of the plan is still under construction in my head.

It's not difficult is it? You queue where it says on your ticket, simple! You pick yourtickets up from the box office, its still gonna say where you have to queue on that ticket aswell
SIMPLES

You can't pick up your tickets until later in the day though, meaning you wouldn't be able to queue until you have them.
Obviously being huge Coldplay fans most of us aren't gonna be happy being stuck halfway down the field looking at a big screen ;)
Thats just the way it goes im afraid, unless you can pick tickets up the day before

Not neccessarily, we paid for these tickets back in November and we should have them! It's the fault of the ticket companies so obviously we're gonna kick up a fuss ;)

I just spoke to wembley as my tickets look completly wrong the stubs say m and n and the main ticket says f and g. The ticket does say north east ramp which appears to contradict information earlier in the thread. The lady at wembley said that they print both gates on the tickets so that if you have friends you can queue together. She said that i should use north east ramp as stated and all would be fine. Can't say I'm filled with confidence tho!! Ho hum will find out on Friday I suppose?!?!

15-09-2009, 10:09 AM
As far as I know there are only two ramps to queue from north east and south and then when it's time for door open you get lead to the turnstilles which are the gates printed on the tickets.
So what we all really need to know is what ramps are on the tickets we have.
I think one of the confusing things is that you don't actually queue in front of Entrance B but queue at South East Ramp.

have a look there, a map is posted.
However to bare in mind on entrance has several turnstilles, you go to the turnstilles, scan you ticket and the gate opens and after that you get the bag search.

As in Italian stadia... but we have to know something like...

Hello everyone!!!
Its Craig, and I have news which should comfort and calm everybody who is panicking like hell, about the ticket situation!
Following my chat with the afforementioned "Mr Martin Smithson" yesterday, I posted the information I was told immediately. This has seemingly changed since yesterday, which I am both tottally peed off about, and also heavenly relieved.
The guy i spoke to yesterday was not available, and i was passed around from 3 different lackies, until i got a very nice lady, by the name of Leanne. Now I explained to her that i was calling on behalf of many people attending the shows, and some of whome are coming from abroad to collect their tickets from the box office.
When I told her about Mr Smithsons comments from yesterday, and explained my concerns, she said to me, "You're Joking Right??!!!" To which I replied NO, and stated how worried i was, anyway she said that he has given me improper information, and that at a full staff meeting this morning, everyone was informed of the exact precedures that will be followe for the coldplay shows.
So here it goes:
There are only two ramps to queue at for anyone with GA tickets. Thes are the North-East and North-West ramps.
She told me that they have been made aware of concerns from fans collecting from the box office, and said that they "NOW WILL DEFINATELY ALLOW ANYONE WHO IS IN POSSESION OF A GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET, TO ENTER AT ANY OF THE GATES FOR THE SHOW."
Now she went on to say that all of the tickets printed for GA goers, were split into Gates Allocated, so there should be roughly the same amount of people in the two queues/ramps. This is becuase 50% of the GA people will be at H & J, which is to queue at the North-West ramp, and 25% have got B & C, and M & N each, therefore 25% x2 =50%, and these will queue at the North-East ramp, thus a fair split.
When you get your tickets from the box office, go back and join youre freinds/ fellow coldplayers, in the queue, and there will be no problem at all!
Also, the tickets are read from a barcode scanner at each turnstile, therfore Mr Smithsons comment of people being turned away is nonsense because its done by machine, and they are now programmed to let everyone who is GA, through any gate! (but this is a new developement from a staff briefing this morning, so it might not be Smithies fault, but maybe im being kind?).
So to some up, Anyone with H&J tix, are meant to queue at North-West ramp, and anyone with B&C or M&N are meant to queue at the North-East ramp. But it doesnt really matter. because you WILL be let in at either!!
Also an added bit, is that the Box Office opening time now is confirmed as, 11:00am.
Ok, so thats it I think, i spent a lot of time (and money, im dreading my phone bill :( ) finding this out today, but im certain it is worth it, and i hope that everyone is a lot better about stuff now, and can start looking forward to it again.

I had a long conversation with a guy from "security", and he told me pretty much the same as what Craig heard today.;)
Nobody I spoke to appeared to have heard of "Martin Smithson", so maybe he was a Radiohead fan who had infiltrated the Wembley staff or something.
The security guy, Paul, said that the GA tickets will work through every GA turnstile, and the only way you might be directed to a specific queue is if you actually ask a member of the security staff to direct you.
He also said he had queued there himself before, so he is speaking from experience.
He said the security personnel are mostly concerned about people "pushing in", and are not going to check everyone's ticket as they queue.
His other advice was that if you had any concerns at all, you should ask a member of security when you arrive to avoid any problems later on.
He also confirmed there will be NO "golden circle" for the concert, just a completely open space.
So I think we can now all rest reasonably "easy".

soooooooooooo to sum it up then:
a) each ticket should advise a ramp (choice of 2)
b) if you queue at the ramp on your ticket you will be fine, because the turnstiles are programmed to accept the relevant GA tickets (debs advised Wembley can be extremely strict about following what your tickets say)
c) coldplayers with tickets can queue early at the relevant ramp, and should be able to save space for those collecting tickets from the box office. (although I am a little concerned about the comments of security focusing on people "pushing-in")
d) there is no golden circle so you need to rest all day in the queue and conserve your energy to sprint to the front
does that sound about right?
mc_squared

b) if you queue at the ramp on your ticket you will be fine, because the turnstiles are programmed to accept the relevant GA tickets (debs advised Wembley can be extremely strict about following what your tickets say)
The security guy I spoke to at length assured me that all GA tickets will work in any GA turnstile.;)
Therefore that shouldn't be an issue.

To which I replied NO, and stated how worried i was, anyway she said that he has given me improper information, and that at a full staff meeting this morning, everyone was informed of the exact precedures that will be followe for the coldplay shows.
Over and out :D
Thank you sooooo much for all your effort.
This makes things clearer. Am still a little uneasy, but less so.

The security guy I spoke to at length assured me that all GA tickets will work in any GA turnstile.;)
Therefore that shouldn't be an issue.
forgive me for being cynical, but we've had 2/3 different stories on 2 different days from people who are supposed to be official. maybe they have heard about the panic and changed their policy to accomodate, but we won't know that for definite til fri.
Personally, if I were queuing from 9am I would want to be where my ticket tells me to queue to ensure I get in when the doors open and stand a chance of making front row. I would be mightily peed off to find out at 4pm that there had been mis-information and I now had to go and join the back of another queue.
if the ticket specifies 1 of 2 ramps, it'd be safer to queue at the ramp you've been allocated. especially as the coldplayers seem to be split relatively evenly between the 2.

So anyway, it appears that B&C and M&N will definitely be fine together.;)

That's what I was thinking, the only problem being that if someone doesn't read coldplaying and has entrance M&N, s/he will never know s/he has to queue at north-east ramp since on the M&N entrance tickets it's stated to queue at south-west ramp, the same goes for B&C ticket holders, who have south-east ramp printed on the ticket.
All of this seems to be really bad managed, and I hope there is going to be someone on friday able to really tell us where we are supposed to queue :)

I'm coming with a friend, so I'm putting him on the queue at the closest gate while I'll be queueing at the box office.

Hi, I only found this lovely forum in the past 3 days and it's so not fine to introduce myself here like this but I just gotta ask something to be sure because i'm about to lose my sanity. Please help me! My tickets are for B & C and say to queue at south east ramp and on the stubs it says G anf F . Now from what Craig here found out there are only 2 entries at the north??? so where should I queue??? Will there be guards early friday morning to tell me where to stand???lol
Even though the explanation here was good i'm still just really confused and i'm leaving on Thursday for London and I gotta understand this first. Customer services didn't help me really and i'm shocked that a place like Wembley isn't as organized as I thought it will be.

Ian, the lady i spoke to has said not to take what the ticket companies say, as gospel.
She said in no uncertain terms that the box office will be open at 11am, precisely.

that's what Ticketmaster told me too, but then on other days that i've called them, i've also been told "from noon" (x 2) & "from 11AM" + when i called Wembley, i was generally told "should be from 10AM". :dozey:

You will be on the Guestlist which normally lands at the boxoffice not before 4pm/5pm - so don't confuse that with the general boxoffice pick up for tickets.

What does this mean? I've been told the same thing by seetickets, but I'm not sure now should be at the line 10am (love to be at the front row) or just around 4pm as they say?
With current information that I have from this thread, I'm heading to the box office at 10am to get the tickets and my friends are going to the actual line so we can get as front as possible...
It's funny how easy thing as this can become so complicated
