Exactly. Humbug and The Resistance, which were the two most highly anticipated albums of the year, were both disappointing (in my opinion).

You're entitled to your own opinion. A lot of people did like it though and I think it's a strong contender for best album.

I had incredibly high expectations for this album and was deeply disappointed with the overall cheesy feel. Magnificent is the only song that was truly great. I would have much rather seen Doves Kingdom Of Rust album get a nomination. Killer from start to finish.

I liked Kingdom of Rust, but there aren't enough Doves fans on here for it to win.

Just didn't do it for me. Weak in my opinion. I can think of at least 5 albums that should get the honor. Although, if millions of albums aren't sold, Grammy doesn't give a fuck.

It's truly pathetic how this album is so loved. U2 has been fading for years, and this is just another ho-hum album. Where is the bold, passionate U2 that gave us Sunday Bloody Sunday and Where The Streets Have No Name?

I might agree, U2's music has changed so much since the 1990's.

I too am amazed how some people creamed their pants for this album. Rolling stone had that 5 star review and I wanted to vomit. Pitchfork got it right though, as usual.

You are absolutely right about that, and I have always taken issue with their coldplay hatred.
Other than that, I am pretty much in agreeance with pitchfork.

All That You Can't Leave Behind: Pitchfork Media (5.0/10)
I honestly feel like they give albums poor scores just to be outrageous and get publicity.

You are right about giving poor scores for publicity. In U2's case, this year, I have to agree though. They can be spot on though most times, especially with newer bands and such.
However, AROBTTH is just an absolute stunner of an album and they are fuckin dicks for bashing that album.

Actually their best music came from the 80's; War, Boy, The Joshua Tree.
Pitchfork is such a steaming pile of shit.

No Line on the Horizon was horrible in my opinion!
I love '...crazy tonight' but that's basically it, very dissapointing.
The Resistance has grown on me LOADS over the past couple of days so I think that will get my vote. Humbug was a dissapointment to me.
