But how to spilt the north American ambassador award is the question, the only thing I can think off is spiting it into:
1 - USA - 'Western' States
2 - USA - 'Eastern' States
To determine which are west and which are east, I'm suggesting using this map:

the line west of Minnesota; Iowa; Missouri; Arkansas & Louisiana is the east/west division (unless someone else knows of a better way to spiting up the USA).
3 - North-North America:
4 - Central America:
(anything on this map in green which isn't USA) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/43/Location_North_America.svg/541px-Location_North_America.svg.png, north of the USA is NNA, south of USA is CA :)
4 - South America

At the moment for the 1st stage you can vote for anybody.
For the 2nd stage is when the short-lists come out so you vote from the people on the short-lists :) And hopefully you will be happy and get enough votes in the first stage to make the short-list :)

The ambassador thing is nightmare, in 2008 when it changed to continents from the individual countries, one of the complains was that the continents had a lot of pick from, so this year I'm trying to spilt them up

why 2 awards for USA?
Cos the USA is big.
However it might merge back together into 1 award for the USA to keep it simple (cos there are some USAns on the board whom have kept their state a closely guarded secret)
