Kris on tour OR a puppet and all his friends

Ok, some of you might have seen Kris's first appearance in the Düsseldorf concert thread:

Good evening!!!!

Anna and Carol here.
Guess who spent the day with us?? :D

It was Kris!! :dance:

= Knitted Chris

We suggested to him that we go on a day trip to the picturesque country / city of Luxembourg!

He became a bit impatient on the journey and started to climb around in the car!!
Look where we found him!
Doing a back bend on the mirror!

After all those exercises he said he was hungry and made us stop at a patisserie for waffles! We weren't even in the city yet!

Kris has mood swings we can tell you!!
After eating the waffles he felt guilty and was afraid of getting love handles.
Before we knew it he went on a bike and suggested leaving the car there and take a bike trip instead.
Poor Kris, we had to tell him we don't do sports except running across stadiums towards the barriers!

He wanted to find more energetic friends, but the ones he found were only less energetic than us!!!

So he gave in and came with us to Luxembourg by car.

We took him to a bridge with a nice view but all he did was moan about the height and how it made him feel dizzy (was only the waffles I can tell you :dozey:).

He kept saying "Water, water, water!" so we went to the "Grund" by the river.

But all he really wanted was a "scared...of losing all the time..." you know the rest of the lyrics.
Kris was delighted to see the name of the water!

Well, unfortunately he was full of beans again after the water and wanted to go on a bike ride again!

We politely refused again and had a feeling he felt a bit guilty!

His journey didn't end there however - it only just started!!!


We're glad he's unaware of his origins.
He knows that Carol is his mother and he found a place to live with me as his adoptive mother however.
I'll wait until later to tell him that his head is full of cotton wool - otherwise he'd be worrying even more!! :P

He begged us to take him with us - his biggest wish (as big as that can be as a puppet) was to be near to his big brothers.

So we gave in, how could we refuse him after having the tickets for the concert in our hands?

Anyhow, what's the point of coming all the way from the UK to Germany and not to make the most of visiting some of the beautiful places on the way?

Our first stop took us to Trier and Kris immediately felt a connection when he saw the bell!

Roman Cavalry Choirs were not something we could offer him, but we found him a Roman city gate instead: The Porta Nigra.

Without even crossing a river, Kris was still lost and asked for help.
The two warm-blooded women he was with told him they'd know the way to the Palace, but he trusted a cardboard policeman more :dozey:

As soon as he saw the palace he told us a story about seeing a similar one where his big brother used to live before he had to sweep the streets!
He confused truth and song lyrics here!!

Next to it the Roman baths weren't exactly what he expected them to be.

On the way back we found a bathing villa in the appropriate size for him however and we gained back his confidence and that we have his best interests at heart.

The day ended in Düsseldorf for Kris with unexpectedly getting as close to his destination as possible:
Inside the arena where his big brothers would be playing only some 20 hours later!!

He started queuing early with us and brought some of his favourites snacks:

All Kris wanted was to be close to his big brothers!
When the security guys left the door unlocked he went over and opened it!!
We had to stop him from running inside!

His plans didn't work out so he tried to contact his friends inside with a walke talkie. The security guys were just sweet at our entrance and tried to help any way they could:

The waiting time passed quickly actually... He was Strawberry swinging at the locks...

Sunbathing with sunglasses... (he heard that the fans really like pics of his big brothers with sunglasses and that it looked cool!)

He also wanted to count the planes taking off at the nearby airport... but there was just too much happening!
And soon it was time already to get closer to his aim: The stage!!

Kris chose Anna's bag as a transport method, it would have taken just too much time to walk inside on his own.
He didn't hear that he'd been recognised by another concert-goer while he was inside the bag - a good thing actually. It would have made his little head even more excited and the stuffing might have burst out!!


Once inside and in the first row he thought his dream about performing with Chris, Will, Jonny and Guy will become true.
Sadly he only made it to the speakers before a security guy stopped him from climbing to the stage.

At this point we had to tell him that his dream to perform on stage with his big brothers would never come true :sad: but we promised to take him with us to the gigs we were going to!
So from that point he enjoyed the gig and was looking forward to what other places he would go to.

Not before we put him on a banner however and held it up to make him see the stage!

Cologne and a surprise

The day after the concert, although having aching muscles from all the dancing (and running!) we continued our journey.
We surpassed the 1000 kilometres mark of driving in the car...
Kris had to put on the seat belt as well of course (see above thumbnail).
On our way back home we stopped to visit other sights in Germany... let's start with Cologne!

Kris was awed by the size of the Cologne cathedral, much like his big brother!

It was so windy there that day that we were afraid he would fly away... not a good idea without his Strawberry Swing cape!

Once inside Kris saw a globe on which areas were marked where the cocoa bean grows.

Some children were curiously looking at him inside the museum, too.
