country threads are on international section but anyways....
what i know about sweden is that:
is a country located in north europe, due to that they have cold weather most of the year, educational system is good one and they are able to speak swedish and english fluently.

and i think there's already a sweden thread, so surely it'll be merged.
hehe that's true too. ;)
well there's another thing related with my country and Sweden but may be you won't like it.
there's like a set phrase here saying:
hacerse el sueco / hacerse la sueca
meaning like you pretend you don't know something. (like when someone asked you to do them a favour and they didn't do it and disappeared for a while).
is due to tourism here, in the 70's there were many swedish girls and guys here...
we had fun with our swedish colleague at uni with that sentence. :p

oh yeah i watched a reportage one day in a french tv about students of highschool there,
and oh my god :stunned:
it's totally different from here, the material-goods that schools own there and the way of education very different, students are all around guided and suported by professors, that's pretty awesome, here's not the same :dozey:
and the number of languages you learn there,
they showed 5 students from that highschool who can speak at least 4 languages without any difficulties
i remember the day after that i met my friend in our uni and she asked me if i watched that reportage and as i said yes we look to each other and said at the same time "life is unfair" :laugh3: i can hear it now honestly as it happened few seconds ago :P

yay for stockholm strawberryfields. :D
well here officially studying in school and secondary is free, but that's not true, is free as we don't have to pay the teachers salary (the State pays them), but we do have to pay our books, and it can be like 100-150€ per kid each year. :\
for our secondary degree we didn't need to pay anything,
but for uni and last 2 years of high school (which are not compulsory), we have to pay a lot, and for the exam to get to uni we have to pay and to get our bachiller degree too, that is like 50+40 euros...

Nope. Well, a Swedish professor on our faculty said that you guys allow guests and journalists speak in their own dialect (most of the time). Or at least that they encourage this diversity.
Here, if you speak a dialect which is not the 'central' one, the people make fun of you in 60% of cases. And usually you don't hear them on the telly.
Oh and btw, call me Nina :D
boo why is it like that in your country? :uhoh:
a country inside our country?
although we have an reputaion to be very beautiful. Chris Martin himself has said; "In Sweden everyone is so beautiful. You must fall in love at first sight all the time. It's a nighmare to go to tour in Scandinavia cause every night you see the most beautiful women you have ever seen. It's crazy!"
I love that quote! :smug: ;) I'll see you the 22 August, Chris :sneaky:
Yeah I've heard that too, that many of them who visit sweden seem to think swedish girls are so beautiful :wacky: Have you heard what people think of the swedish boys? haha I'm not sure I have
Haha, that's pretty funny! Sweden has a little reputation to be.. stupid.. :laugh3:
Really? People think that about us? hahaa too bad Why do people think that?
I don't know yet, what do you recommend? :)
yeah I agree with Maja, you really should pay Gamla Stan ("Old Town") a visit :nice: it's beautiful and if you pass the castle you might be lucky and pass it when the guards switch positions. That's pretty fun to watch :wacky:
