I'm soooo excited! This show is not going to be at an amphitheter. I'm hopefull that all the seats are released for the public. We got some of the best crappy seats for Houston and Dallas. Coldplay in San Antonio...finally!:D

AHHHH! I'm soooo excited I got Section 10, row 13 aisle seat right next to the stage!! Yay, that makes up for Houston, although I do have a pretty good ticket now for that, but this is WAY better. Lol! wow that's awesome!! My cousin and I were in floor B row 14 but amazingly I found 2 empty seats in row 5! I was so close to getting Johnny's guitar pick but someone beat me:\. Oh well to think I was 5 rows away from my favorite band in the world!!! :)

FYI: the scalper prices for the Tampa show are ridiculous. My seat (section 7, 100-level) is being sold for like $600 :shocked2:

Where did the people that have tickets buy them from? Did you pay any other fees like shipping? Because I'm not sure if I should buy concert tickets at all. I'm also not sure if I do end up buying tickets, should I buy the pit tickets or the seats to the side. I'm pretty short, so I'm probably not going to see the stage if I'm in the pit. I have tix for the Dallas show later in the tour, and I'm definitely going to San Antonio as well.

Hopefully the AT&T Center is friendly this time around. I went to see Neil Diamond (don't laugh) back in November at the AT&T Center, and security was confiscating every cell phone and camera taking photos. There wasn't a flash bulb or cell phone to be found in the place after the first few songs. I have never seen security that tight at a concert in my life. So hopefully they'll lighten up for Coldplay.

Ok, so I called the ATT Center and found out how the seating goes, so this might help others too... The seat numbers go from left to right if you are facing the sections. So on the LEFT side, seat #1 is furthest from the stage (GRRRR!!!) and on the RIGHT side, seat #1 is closest from the stage. I'm still super happy with the ticket I have, but was hoping it was the 'closer to the stage seat' lol! I guess this way I'll at least have a more full-on view of the stage...

LOL, I dunno, they are just easy to get in and out of and you can get a better view if someone is obstructing your view, etc. Also, when they are near the stage, they are great!

On another topic, does anyone know about parking at ATT Center? I didn't get the parking when I bought the ticket, and realised maybe I should have. Do you have to get it in advance, or are there other options??

Quick question... I know I read somewhere here or on the Houston or Dallas threads that upgrades can happen at the show, courtesy of the roadies or production staff. Just wondering... how did that happen? Were you there early, in your not-great seats?

I've just gotten tix for the SA show for my sister and me (her first Coldplay show), but as I'd already gotten tix for Houston and Dallas, I had to settle for just being in the building. So we have awful tickets- directly opposite the stage, in the VERRRRY back, upper section. Do they go that far back to upgrade fans? Based on what you've seen at other shows, do we have a teeny tiny chance of that or of being anywhere near the remote stage?

They have been known to do upgrades at the shows for fans in the cheap seats. Usually, they grab people on their way to their seats and ask them random Coldplay questions. I'm not really sure of the specifics, but I know it has happened to many people last year. You might want to post in the general forum to see what others can tell you...

when I was at the show in camden, they had so many boxes it wasn't funny. they most certainly won't run out. but yes, I was hoping someone can help me out. I lost the one that I had gotten at the show in Camden and my friend actually had grabbed a box which he stupidly left on top of his car and drove away with on top.

Coldplay makes its first San Antonio appearance at AT&T Center on Wednesday. Snow Patrol opens.

OK, so maybe the Grammy-winning band didn't start out wanting to rule the world, but how does one handle it when it happens?

"I have a hard time believing it," Martin said. "Maybe it's because I'm British or because I'm too religious. I feel lucky."

But quite astute is Martin's reasoning on how it happened: "When Radiohead went less commercial."

Coldplay is known for epic-sounding albums and big hits "Yellow," "Clocks," "In My Place," "Speed of Sound," "Fix You," "The Hardest Part" and "Viva La Vida," as well as for Martin's marriage to Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

There was also that blip last year when rock guitarist Joe Satriani sued the band for copyright infringement, claiming that "Viva La Vida" was too close to his 2004 song "If I Could Fly." Coldplay has denied the charge.

But Brian Eno's work on "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" — this year's album of the year — elevated an already Grammy-winning band that includes guitarist Jon Buckland, drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman.

"It's like going back to school and tearing up all the rules," said Martin. "He guides you down the path. He doesn't care about 'Yellow.' "

Martin acknowledged Eno's ways took some getting used to.

"He doesn't treat you like you're famous," he said.

Martin's kept that angelic voice in shape for the last 10 years with the help of "a funny lady in England named Mary."

Onstage, Coldplay brings "a spectacle" that Martin says depends on a huge crew.

"What worries me is that I don't know how to plug anything in anymore," said Martin. "I'm powerless."

LOL, well luck really! I got the SA ticket a few hours after the pre-sale began since I didn't know about it and was leaving for England the next day. The Houston one was really luck, since I pulled up Sec. 102 row DD in the pre-sale but didn't get it thinking there would be better in the general. Then there wasn't, ha. Then I found Sec. 102 row EE on Ebay and got those. Then one day I just decided to look for some reason and got Sec. 102 row H! It also helps I'm going by myself I guess... Crappy friends I went with last year don't want to go on a weeknight, blah. :dozey::rolleyes:

Such is the scenario when Coldplay arrives at AT&T Center on Wednesday, June 10, to promote Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.

Snow Patrol opens.

Not all that long ago, Green Day, with American Idiot, Norah Jones, with Come Away With Me, Alejandro Escovedo, with Real Animal, and even a very young Britney Spears, with her Catholic schoolgirl swagger, rocked San Antonio’s world with vital intensity onstage — as only artists on that kind of roll can do.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin described his current tour as “a spectacle” befitting a band considered by many to be the biggest in the world.

It’s a steamroller driven by Martin and his bandmates, guitarist Jon Buckland, drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman.

Which means that for the band’s first visit to S.A., fans will be bombarded with majestic art-rock and epic pop, lasers, giant bouncing rubber yellow balls (for “Yellow”), unplugged rock moments, colorful Sgt. Pepper’s-influenced outfits and a free CD giveaway.

Not everyone loves it. The New York Times calls them the most insufferable band in the world.

“It really doesn’t matter who’s biggest today,” said Martin in a telephone interview in May, adding that worrying about who is No. 1 “makes my brain melt.”

But pop world domination — in the realm of U2, Metallica, Hannah Montana, Green Day, Jonas Brothers and The Rolling Stones — comes at a price.

Loss of privacy is one. Martin spends much of his life with actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow dodging paparazzi.

There’s also the matter of rock guitarist Joe Satriani claiming that Coldplay’s song “Viva La Vida” bears too close a resemblance to his “If I Could Fly.”

In December, Satriani sued for copyright infringement.

“We’ve never had a hit that big before. So I don’t know if it’s to do with it’s the only song that’s been that famous,” Martin told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

At the end of the day, Martin wouldn’t change a thing. “I feel lucky,” he said.

San Antonio, brace yourselves for Coldplay

The San Antonio set list will include some of the band’s biggest hits, including “Clocks,” “The Hardest Part,” “Viva La Vida, “Yellow,” “In My Place,” “Glass of Water,” “Politik,” “Fix You” and “The Scientist.”

There’s even a cover of The Monkees’ “I’m a Believer.”

Deja vu ........6 years ago today I traveled away to Cleveland to see Coldplay and meet a bunch of people that I only knew from the Coldplay message board. I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cleveland. Fast foward to today. Traveling away to San Antonio to see Coldplay, going with people I met on here and meeting some for the first time. Staying at the Hampton Inn.
