If you haven't been to the venue in 'Sacramento', make sure you Google it before actually buying your tickets. It's actually about an hour outside of Sacramento in the country. I think the last time I went to a show there was when Coldplay played there in May of 2003. It's like a smaller version of Shoreline, but in the middle of nowhere, and it's eventually a 2 lane road out to the venue, so sometimes it can take quite awhile to get there. Like I said, it's been almost 6 years since I was last there, so maybe it's changed. I just wanted to warn/alert those of you thinking about roadtripping it to this part of our great state!

Oh, and by the way, I'm thinking of going too (was out of the state when they played CA in July) .... does anyone know the presale passwords?

Well right now if you ask for 3 tickets its already pulling up lawn, so my guess is thats exactly whats going to happen. I think its really wrong that they release ALL the seats at presale. What about people who work Friday mornings and don't have the luxury of taking the time to do this. It really seems like concerts are fast becoming an activity exclusively for the wealthy. I think the whole ticketing system needs a complete revamp. It wasn't this bad on the X&Y tour. Hell it wasn't this bad last summer.

Unfortunately for me it was lawn tickets at Shoreline or seats in Sacramento. I live 10 minutes away from Shoreline. :(

Anyway,

In your opinion, which tickets are better, section 111 row 6 or section 206 row 8-14?

Section 111 is much closer (and the row is pretty close to the edge) but section 206 faces the stage right on.

From which of these can you see the stage better?
Can you actually see the performers?

(From section 111, can you see the entire stage even though youre at an angle?)

Thanks to anyone who can answer!!

Anybody have a guess as to what happened to sections 1, 2, and 3. I haven't heard of anyone getting a seat there in the pre, or general sale, and theres no sign of them on ebay or any site like stubhub....its just kinda strange. We got section 112 and I was happy enough with that compared to the shoreline, but I still find it odd that all the best seats just aren't around?

It appears that better seats have become available...and umm if your partial to standing in Pit's you might want to get your butt over to livenation. I guess that answers my question about what happened to section 1, 2, and 3.

I'm looking at the front row seats in section 105 that look pretty sweet as well... do I want to drive 122 miles the next day to see Coldplay again? Hmmmmmm... I think it will be a sweet show.

A couple of possibilities: the producers know that the Bay area will have a disporportionately high number of Coldplay fans, so they wanted to sell out the less desireable seats first; second possibility is that they wanted to give as many of the the best seats to all the friends of the band and sponsors before making them available to the public. The first day of sale, LiveNation initially showed all of the reserved seats as sold out. Later in the day, they showed only a few seats available in the 200s. In other words, they had to make sure Gwenyth, the kids, family and friends had their seats first!

The Sleeptrain looks to be very remote from the view on Google Earth. It's out in the middle of what looks like a desert. I doubt that there is any public transportation there, unless it would be especially for the show. It would be best to share a ride. Perhaps a few of us can pool a ride there? I'm in SF and Pleasant Hill areas.

Does Coldplay cancel venues from not selling enough tickets?

There are still over half the pit tickets left, and the two sections on the right and the left behind the pit have over half to sell as well. The two sections behind those also have half to sell. And 4 sections behind those have 100% of their tickets to sell (about 120 people each). Not to mention the lawn seats...

I was wondering the same thing. They added this concert a few weeks after the initial listing of shows. If they don't sell enough tickets at the venue, they will probably cancel the show. I'm surprised that it's not more sold. I suspect that even the seats shown as "sold" may still be on hold for sponsors, etc.

However, after saying that, if section 103, the center behind the pit, opens up I'm buying a ticket if I can get a front row seat. If Coldplay does cancel, I think LiveNation would give a refund. Does anyone know for sure?

I hope to God not. Initially almost all the seats released were sold, but since they've released the new batch, there hasn't been much action. Maybe as the date gets closer, and people start to make their summer plans sales will go up.
That said who's brilliant idea was it to withhold more than 1000 tickets initially? A lot of people I know try for tickets the day they go on sale and if they have no luck, they never think to look again.

I know, the withholding of seats is very unfair to those enthusiastic fans who bought early and only had the choice of upper level seats or the lawn. That's what happened to me for Shoreline.

I think the practice is based on the fact that Coldplay's concerts are "virtually sold out for the next year" as they said on the 60 minutes segment. The Marysville concert is the very next day after the show at Shoreline. Marysville is not too far away and most of the population lives in the Bay area. Marysville is not selling very well. My guess is that the producers will cancel unless they sell a certain minimum number of seats to cover the costs because these productions are expensive. They have a lot of equipment to move and set up, plus the cost of cleaning up all the paper mache butterflies after the show! I would volunteer for clean up if I could get in for free, but the volunteer positions with Oxfam are only for promoting Oxfam.

Yep, I'll be going to this one. This will be my first Coldplay concert. I have seats back in the 207 section. I'm kind of inexperienced when it comes to concerts, but is there any possibility of me getting up close? My friend and I joked about "fighting" our way to the front.

If your in a seated area, security is usually pretty tight, they check tickets at the entrance to each section.
However there are pit tickets still available, which would enable you a shot at getting to the front.

I'm going to pray every day between now and July, that that doesn't happen. Seriously I finally get a shot at a pit ticket, heck a seat that isn't a mile away, and now people decide to stop buying them!!??!! Nope I'm just going to have to plead with God on this one lol.

I suppose you've already bought tickets for the "pit" or floor?

As an ardent Coldplay fan as any, I understand the attraction of a space on the floor. You get to stand right in front of the band. see them up close, hope that they see you, dancing and jumping around as we groupies love to do. However, I'm only 5'5" and I would be unable to see much of the band if anyone of average height is in front of me. I doubt that I'd get there early enough to be at the front. That's why I'm not considering the floor.

If "God" or the angels of destiny, or whatever you want to call Her, wills it, section 103 will open up and I'll buy 2 tix immediately! Section 104 or 105 are close follow ups.

It seems as though this same thing has happened to me. We bought tickets in March, about a month after they went on sale, and we just thought that the pit seats were already sold out. However, I checked yesterday and saw that the pit seats are now suddenly available, and there are a lot of them. I called live nation and they said I can't exchange my ticket, but I could sell it independently and buy new ones. My dad wasn't really up for that though, so we're just sticking to our same seats. Oh well, at least I get to live my dream of going to a Coldplay concert.

Section 105 has quite a few seats available together right now if your interested. Section 104 has some individual seats if you don't mind sitting alone. I'm afraid 103 is still showing as quite sold out though.

I just checked and the GA floor is now shown as sold out. That's a good sign that the show won't be canceled. If they could not have at least sold the floor, they might have canceled. Section 103 is still shown as unavailable so I might as well hang it up for now. I'm giving up on this concert. I'll get my my Coldplay fix for the next year at the Shoreline concert on 7/13.

I'm listening to "Low." Check out how perfect Chris' voice is: YouTube - COLDPLAY - LOW with LYRICS

He comes across as so "right", (or is "righteous" a better word?) he's truly beautiful.

Jonny played a major role in writing "Low."

I have a single ticket that I'm trying to sell.
Section 114, row 2, seat 7. Right next to the expensive box seats.
See seating chart link below in my sig.
Ticket cost me $124.15 with all LiveNation charges.
Willing to sell for $100 even. I'll take the hit on the extra charges.
PM me if interested.

Today is a "no-fee" day to buy tickets through Live Nation. Unfortunately, it's not letting me pick seats. Only the "best seat available" option is shown. Its idea of the best seat is not mine. If one buys today, Live Nation waives the $20 fee, so a $97.50 ticket costs $104 because they still charge the $6 venue fee and $.50 "charity fee."

M.

I looked at serving as an Oxfam volunteer. If the job involved simply helping to set up before and to clean up after the show, or doing anything at all to help with the show, I'd do it in a second, but the description on the oxfam website is different. It describes the volunteer job as requiring one to walk around the entrance areas, trying to solicit support for Oxfam. There are also tables set up to do that.

Volunteers do get their own special area in the front to sit, which would be awesomely nice. Soliciting or prostelytizing for any group (with the possible exception of Coldplay!)doesn't match my personality. I am basically not very outgoing and would be uncomfortable walking up to stangers as described.

If Coldplay needs help in any other way, I wish they would let me know!

Ok, I'm new at buying concert tickets so I need some help!

I just bought 2 tickets in Section 1, Row 10, with seat numbers. I thought these were Reserved seat tickets, but I may be wrong? Is this the Pit?

Could someone please explain? I'm taking my 12 yo who isn't very tall (and neither am I) and we're afraid we won't be able to see anything.

Thanks!

Congrats for getting tickets! Sections 1-3 are the Floor or "Pit" standing area. If I were taller and youger, I'd love a place in the pit. This is the place for the true, hard-core fans, of which I truly am one. It's good for jumping up and down, arm-waving, and dancing, and you really get to see the band up close in the pit. The handsome Guy Berryman stands on that side. You might want to arrive early to get as far in the front as possible if you are not tall. If you are strong enough, and your son is light enough, you could put him on your shoulders and let him do some visible arm-waving at the band!

Even if you're short, don't worry, you will still be able to see the band fine because the stage is elevated. Hopefully, Chris will jump off the stage into the crowd and you will be there to help catch him!

Thanks for your reply!
Later this afternoon, I called the Sleeptrain Amphitheatre and asked them. She said that it is indeed a reserved seat, at least for the Coldplay show. The seats are removable, depending on the show. For another show (I think Manson?), for example, they're removing the seats.

Thanks again, we're really excited about this!
p.s. I wish I'd found this website earlier--missed out on those great discounts!

It is good news that you will have a seat if you want to sit down. At my age, I'd get tired if I had to stand for the whole concert.

They re-opened selling floor seats only a couple of days ago. For a few weeks before that, they were showing the floor as completely sold out. They didn't show the floor seats or the 100s sections for sale at all until early May. So, a lot of people had to buy upper level seats at full price, not knowing these seats would open up later. A similar thing happened with the 7/13 concert at Shoreline and I bought upper level tickets and then the 100s opened up a few weeks later. It pays to wait if they are going to do this, but one has to keep checking. A forum like this is a good way to keep up on these things.

Ok so this makes me SOOOOO mad that I woke up early the day the tickets went on sale and bought tickets for $250 dollars in sect 202 and now I can get pit tickets 2 for $125.

It's completely ridiculous. What am I supposed to do with the $250 dollar tickets that are now worth $104???

Was this Coldplay or Sleep Train's idea?

Anyway I'm furious.

Excited that I get to see them so close, but furious that I wasted $250 dollars that I don't have thinking I was being proactive in getting the best possible seats at 10 am in FEBRUARY.

Ridiculous!

Don't feel bad. The same thing happened to me with the Shoreline concert. I had my finger on the trigger the morning that the tickets went on sale. That was first week of February. They didn't show any reserved seats available when it first opened, so I bought two lawn tickets for $110. Then, later in the day they showed a few reserved upper level seats available , and I bought two of those for $249. I am WAY up in there near the lawn. Then in the first week of May, they showed a bunch of seats available in the 100s or lower sections. I was very disappointed because I would have loved to have gotten two of those seats and to have been closer but I was not willing to spend more money buying any more tickets. Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw a couple of 100s section seats available there again.

The pricing decisions are not made by Coldplay, but by the marketers under the direction of the producers. They are the ones who put the whole show together, who market and price the seats, and who decide whether or not to cancel a show if it looks as if they will lose money. Coldplay is only paid a fee for the show. Coldplay can cancel a show if they need to, such as if one of them is sick. They did that recently, but rescheduled another show to make up for it.

I'm just glad that they are trying to sell enough tickets to avoid canceling the show. If you've noticed, there are more than 100 reserved seats available in most of the upper level sections. The producers and marketers have heavily discounted those seats, and now offer two more discounted categories: $49 and $39 seats, instead of just the $97 and $79 seats before. The seats in the upper section further to the side are discounted now. I'm afraid it might attract a roughneck crowd, and because they sell alcohol at the event, there is always a chance of misbehaving, although one would think that Coldplay's soft rock would only attract a crowd of the most beautiful, nicest people.

I really hope they don't cancel this show because I have great seats now. A good friend of mine is going with me, and I think this will be a sweet show. I'm also going to see Coldplay the day before at the Shoreline, so call me a "hard-core" fan!

From experience, it is better to take one's time buying tickets for popular shows like this. This forum is great for keeping up on what's happening with the availability of seats. It was here that I found out that they had opened up a bunch of seats at the Shoreline, though it was too late for me because I had foolishly bought tickets. The producers and marketers make their money by selling at what the market will bear.

Yea, I bought our tickets at full price on Sat. (yes, they were on the floor, so I shouldn't complain.) Then I found this forum yesterday and saw the TRAVEL promotion and realized I could have gotten them 2 for 1. arggghhh!!! But after reading the posts, I guess I'm not alone!

I figured there was some sort of marketing going on. . . but I can't believe how cheap the tickets have gotten. . . and it doesn't seem fair to the folks who logged in back in Feb. in get first in line. I know in the past I've set my alarm and made arrangements to call or log in earlier to get into classes, etc. I would be upset if I knew someone who called in last minute got in!

Guess I've learned my lesson!

I did too, for the Shoreline concert. The slow and steady turtle, not the fast jack rabbit wins in this game! I've seen lots of people selling their tickets on Craigslist, probably because they upgraded and are trying to get their money back on the first tickets they bought. I found some friends that wanted the extra lawn tickets I had bought. Wheatland tix will be harder to sell since there are many deeply discounted seats available now from Live Nation.

I waited many weeks to buy my tix for Wheatland, but it cost me a lot of time I spent checking the site hundreds of times over that period. At least their trying to sell enough tix to not have to cancel the show, and that is a very good thing! :)

Last year two Coldplay concerts here were canceled: one in Oakland, the other in Sacramento. That only left San Jose HP Pavilion, with its inferior acoustics.

starfish,
you post makes me feel better! I did go ahead and buy the tickets on Sat. largely because I don't have a lot of time. . . . . . I'm glad you got your tix since you spent all of that time checking! Things do work out and time=money! I pretty much just wanted to get the tickets, not worry about it anymore, enjoy my summer plans for the next few weeks and show up on 7/14!

The timing of this concert worked out well. We really like the Viva la vida album and the music is so much fun and we were thrilled they were coming to the area. Plus it's summer so it's easier to schedule around.

I've never been to this venue specifically but I have been in the lawn at a lot of other amphitheater shows, and its not that bad. Naturally the view is going to be from more of a distance, but if your coming with a large group and want to be able to dance and mingle with each other, lawn can be a lot of fun. And of course from my perspective there is no such thing as a bad seat at a coldplay show. And then at some shows the band has been doing a 2-3 song set from the lawn, so you could get lucky and end up near them for that.

I would not buy lawn tickets to this concert because the difference in price between the lawn and the cheaper upper section seats is only a couple of dollars. They recently added two additional reduced price reserved seats, at $39 and $49 each. Lawn costs $35, which is only $4 less. I would rather sit up in a reserved seat closer and more comfortable than having to stand or sit on the grass and be further away. Also, I've heard that the lawn crowd are partiers, some rowdy, and not even paying attention to the show. Good luck with your tickets.

I'm giving up listening to Coldplay for the next two weeks until the concert. I have been listening to them everyday and want to clear my mind so that when I hear them live, it will enhance the experience. I will be in Coldplay withdrawal by then and their music will be like a medicininal cure. I'm going to both the Shoreline and Wheatland concerts. I got great seats at Wheatland, just hoping they don't cancel. Ticket sales seem to have been slow for this concert, which is why I was able to buy them, unlike the Shoreline which is all sold out.

WORTH NOTING: Allow yourself enough time for the drive, as part of the commute is a two-lane highway.

Despite being the adored, much analyzed and fantasized-about lead singer of one of the planet's biggest rock bands, Chris Martin of Coldplay is practical, even humble about his role.

Sitting on the floor of a rented house in Los Angeles, enjoying the California sunshine and the taste of the strawberry he's just finished, Martin is deliberately and charmingly low-key.

"It just comes from pure gratitude at being given this job, particularly in a period of time when music is hard to be employed by," Martin says of the free CDs that Coldplay is giving to concertgoers on its U.S. tour. (The tour stops in Sacramento on Tuesday; it started in May in West Palm Beach, Fla.)

"We wanted to give something to the people who have paid money to come see us or buy the album," he adds, referring to "Viva La Vida," the best-selling album in the world in 2008. "It's like a reward system in a grocery store."

Material sustenance is not what most fans think of when it comes to Coldplay's music or its live shows, which are known for the passionate connection Martin makes with audiences. The free CD, "LeftRightLeftRightLeft," with nine live songs culled from the band's last tour, is partly an attempt to capture that link.

"It is like a snapshot of where we're at at the moment as a band," Martin says. "Hopefully nine little morsels of where we are at the moment. It's supposed to give an overview of how we sound now and mostly how our audience is with that."

Given that Coldplay is returning to the United States so soon after finishing another North American tour last November, audiences seem to like whatever the band does. The combination of Martin's charisma and emotionally introspective, obliquely poetic lyrics, and Coldplay's darkly anthemic, lushly melodic music has proved potent. The group has grown steadily in stature and sales since debuting in 2000 with "Parachutes," quickly shooting from indie darlings to the top of the U.S. and global charts. Its third album, 2005's "X&Y," sold 8 million copies in the first year while "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" sold 6.7 million physical and downloaded copies – stellar figures in an age of free downloads and splintering audiences.

The press, however, has been divided on Coldplay and on Martin himself. The band's music has been criticized as indulgent and repetitive while Martin, who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow (the couple have two children, Apple, 5 and Moses, 3) is sometimes faulted as being arrogant, a vegetarian, righteously well-behaved and generally avoiding the classically entertaining rock star behavior of excessive drugs, drinking and screwing around. (Although he has been known to wrestle with paparazzi and appear in comedies like the movie "Shaun of the Dead.")

Martin is, in fact, unabashedly middle class. The oldest son of five children of an accountant father and a music-teacher mother, he met his Coldplay bandmates in 1996 while all were earning degrees at London University (they refused to tour or release their first record until they'd taken final exams, and vowed to kick out anyone who used hard drugs). He has campaigned on issues of fair trade and global poverty, and has spoken out against the Iraq war. While social themes don't inspire Coldplay's songs, Martin says he feels a responsibility to try to affect the world in a positive way.

"It appeases the guilt I sometimes feel for being given such an incredible job," he says. "I think when you are contributing to or talking about something that you know is important on an activist level, it somehow feels better than if you're just sitting back taking coke."

Activism also assuages his own anxieties. "I don't really like to stop and feel comfortable," Martin says. "So I guess social activism is part of that."

But he is realistic about how much effect he can have on the world, beyond making people feel better for the length of a song or a show. "If I'm a bit down and worried about something, then if I listen to 'I'm on Fire' by Bruce Springsteen, I feel better," Martin says. "We can only influence our little world in our little bubble."

Wait what? That doesnt make any sense. They always have seat numbers written on pit ticket and lawn tickets for that matter, its usually just a way to keep track of how much space they actually have. . Are you sure about this?

well i called the venue this morning TWICE and said are you 1000% positive that its assigned seating and the lady said yes. its still fishy tho cuz nobody has a clue. i mean i was gonna leave for the venue at like 12 and wait in line but good thing i called

majgirl
14-07-2009, 07:06 PM
OK I just got off the phone with them. The woman assured me for this show, there will in fact be seats, and that the ushers will show you to them. I asked her point blank if she was sure, and if that meant one still needed to show up early. She said she was sure and that because their were seats a person didn't need to show up early. Its so hot I'm really not keen on showing up early for no reason. I'm thinking I'll still show up at a reasonable hour and just frinkin kill them if their wrong. I just know that if I was going to stand in the sun for that long, there would have to be a better pay off than a seat I was assigned from the beginning. So I guess I'm not leaving that early.

I've never actually been to this venue, but my dad says the lawn section is pretty awesome. You can see the stage, but it's not the best view. But, they do have these huge projector screens in the back so you can see what's happening on stage. It's my first Coldplay concert today :) I'm so excited!

^ I don't know if it'll be the same this time around, but I know from the last time I saw them at this venue, there were security gaurds that made sure people with seats don't get into the pit section.

But, there'll be a lot more people this time. Maybe they'll be too distracted with everyone else.

Good luck you guys! And come see me at the Oxfam table before the show :P

Hey everyone, I just got back from the show and it was EPIC. The set list was the same. First off, I had Pit tickets but when we got there they had seats and took our Pit tickets and gave us random rows to sit in so I got row 12, well I was livid because I was like the fourth person in line and felt like I would have been front row so I talked to a LiveNation man and he said he would talk to his supervisor so finally I decided to go to the bathroom and I took my ticket with me and this other lady who was handing out tickets I told her the situation and she was like "I have row 5" I was like I will take it! So I go to the bathroom and come back to my seat and they escorted me right NEXT to the cat walk and it was really row 3 on Guy's side!! I was freaking out. I was less than a foot away from Chris on the catwalk! The crowd was fabulous and a lot better than last night in my opinion! When Chris looked at me I freaked out because I couldn't believe I was right next to him. I will post more pics and videos tomorrow but for now I will leave you with this little slice of heaven: YouTube - Coldplay- Lost! (Live)

ColdplayRulesTheWorld, I went to both concerts and I agree that tonight' s crowd was much better. I had almost perfect seats tonight, front and center. It seems that Chris gave a much better show tonight. He seemed more like I expected him to be, performing more like he usually does in the clips on Youtube. He sang right on key, as he usually does, and his dancing was especially good. I wonder where he gets the energy. He is in great shape at 32. He went non-stop for 2 hours. He is very muscular, especially in his legs.

It's amazing how close you were to Coldplay. Great clip, and I hope you post more. Do you have a channel on Youtube? Please tell us your user ID so we can see all your clips when you upload.

This concert was definitely worth the 120 miles I drove each way from San Francisco. It was simply an unforgettable experience.

That was an AMAZING show last night... I was in a situation like you, CPRulesTheWorld! Online I picked out (what I thought were) front row seats, and we got there and they gave us row 13! I was so excited to be RIGHT THERE next to the stage... oh well. You're lucky, what an awesome lady you met! I'm happy I actually got to hit a balloon and be under the butterflies this time though.

God, I do not know how they performed like that with how freakin hot it was (I was so glad to be back in the Bay Area weather afterwards, let me tell you...). Chris looked like he was losing it at the very end of 42, his eyes were bugging out like crazy  They are real troupers.

That sucks for you guys that they assigned you seats. I was lucky enough to get reserved, in row 10.

However, it was an AWESOME concert. Amazing sound, light show, and the yellow balls and butterflies added so much to the performance. I especially enjoyed the light performance on Politik, and the Viva la Vida remix. I'll have to go again, and will be recommending Coldplay to friends. Chris was humorous and energetic (loved the bug-eyes on 42), even through the heat that didn't cool til late. Calling them out took some effort though (including cheering, screaming, yelling, and seat-banging). It is upsetting when others get closer seats or even sit in the pit when they barely seem to care about Coldplay. But as people mentioned, the band seems to be able to tell who's the true fans. :D

On another note, I swear I saw you, CPRulestheWorld......but I can't be sure. :)

The show was awe inspiring. I was always a fan of Coldplay, been listening since Parachutes. But I was lucky enough to win some lawn seat tickets to this concert yesterday. I'm glad I went, since during the concert the band moved to a box right next to the lawn area, and played three songs!!! (Green Eyes, An acoustic sung by Will, and Billie Jean -- Billie Jean was truly amazing, especially with the crowd singing along!! I wish I had video of that!)

But I did get a minute of Green Eyes before the memory card on my camera went out, here it is: (Sorry for the shaky film, there were so many people there!)

Coldplay will begin at about 9 PM and will play until about 11, including encores. The opening acts will start at 7 PM (or whatever the showtime is.) Amadou and Mariam, the blind black couple and their band and two dancers from Africa were fantastic! They played from about 7:45-8:30. (I missed the first opening act :( ) Then they played some pre-recorded U-2 and some rap music, as one of Coldplay's roadie's gave a short but sweet break dance performance! then, Mozart's Blue Danube Waltz, then Coldplay!

If you have reserved seats, you should be there by 8:45 at the latest, and allow time for traffic, etc. If you have GA, arrive earlier to get near the front.

Yep the ticket says 7pm, but that's the preshow. If you've got lawn seats, be there before then to stake out a good view of the show. But if you've got chair tickets, and just want to see Coldplay, be there around 8:30pm.

Although I wonder if they have different schedules for each venue. I played it safe and arrived at 6:45. You also get the whole experience that way as well.

Ok, I thought I was imagining things, so I just copy/pasted from front page of cping.com:
No major changes to the normal arena setlist except that Billie Jean replaced I'm A Believer in the acoustic set again, and Sitting on the Dock of the Bay was added to Will's acoustic slot.
Did anyone get a vid of this??? Looked for it on youtube with no luck...

I think to embed video, you just put the link to it in your post, and make sure that the 'automatically embed media' box is checked (it might only show under the advanced post template)

The first act was Kitty, Daisy, and Lewis (http://www.myspace.com/kittydaisyandlewis), a band from the U.K. Amadou and Mariam (http://www.amadou-mariam.com/) were good, they're very percussiony :drummer: and from Mali. The first act runs from 7:00 to about 7:45, and starfish42's times are right as well. Don't fret if you miss the supporting acts though, Coldplay still is the best!

Hey guys, my channel on youtube is vivalacoldplay42. I will definitely post more videos today!

You are a gem to share the great video clips and pics you took of Tuesday's show. Did you know, it was the one-year anniversary of Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour in the U.S.? So, it was an auspicious date.

I think you had such good luck with your seating because you are such a loving fan of Coldplay. The love you give returns in kind. Also, you took the initiative to ask about getting a better ticket. If you were 4th in line, I'd say you more than deserved it! You're such a loyal fan!

Oh, and you were already on my friends' list on Youtube (vivalacoldplay42). I try to pick up all the ardent Coldplay fans as friends, because I am one too!

Man, 42 was awesome. Too bad you didn't get his bug eyes, Duran, that was hilarious. :laugh3:

I definitely saw you CP. I liked your shirt. :) Your pics look a lot better blown up.

That Yellow video is good. That was so dramatic, with Yellow playing while the yellow balls floated around. Someone left with one that was still intact. I liked it when Chris started popping them with his guitar. :P

I'm trying to upload my own pics, but it might be a while. XD Just keep checking this thread. So who's going to Wireless Amphitheatre in San Diego? Anyone here?

I tried recording with my MP3 player but it came out terribly. There is like a buzzing sound over almost the whole recording. I think the volume was too loud for my recorder.

Tonight, I've been lurking on the 7/16 Live forum for the show in San Diego. One of the chatters was posting tweets she was getting from fellow forum members at the show. It was like re-living it all over again. I continue to be a Coldplay junkie!

Thanks for the great recordings everybody!!! I wish it was three days ago again...

Here's a compilation of our footage/pics from row 13, mostly taken by my sister (designated cameraperson). It's not all of our stuff, but some of the best we got. The vids in the beginning are shakey -- they're mine, I was dancing! Oops.

Our camera doesn't record audio, so I just edited the clips to some LRLRL. I tried to make it as epic as possible. :P

I'm still sort of in shock of the whole thing. Like, did it really happen? I think it will continue to sink the rest of this week.

Last night I made a purpose to write down what I could remember from what just happened and then filled in the blank with my sister and looking at all the backs of Coldplay albums. So this is like accurate as it could get. I'm 99.9999% sure this is all the songs.

I was planning for a shirt, but the shirts were $40! So as much as I wanted a shirt, I realized I could probably get it for a little cheaper on their website (And I was right, I just looked at their website and it has the Life in Tech shirt I want for about $10 cheaper, so I’m gonna order a shirt ASAP) so I got instead the really big and beautifully awesome program they were selling for $20. I like it a lot, mucho pictures, something that you could only get at a concert, so that's my investment there :)

Show Program, Free CD, stolen Butterfly confetti, my memories = Perfect.

Oh, and if you want, you can download the Live CD "Left Right Left Right Left" for FREE on Coldplay's website! So that's way cool :) It's a great listen.

Alrighty. Well like I said, the whole experience feels so surreal. Like it didn't even happen, but it did! I wanted to write this all down pretty much ASAP so I could get it all down and remember everything for the future. I did a giant write up similar to this when I went to see Flogging Molly two years ago and I'm so happy I did because I wouldn't remember otherwise anymore.

So we got there really early and beat the traffic all together, though even so, we weren't the first people there. We checked out the merchandise, bought some Concert Programs and sat down. It was a giant outdoor stadium. We were in the "3rd" section, the stage, "pit" people, a walkway row where the cameras for the big screens and cannons for the butterfly confetti were standing then some rows and essentially us, and more rows in our section and a big grassy area with people just packed in. The two opening bands were both very Jamaican feeling, and had those Jamaican-British type accents (I hope that doesn't sound ignorant or anything, but I hope you know what I mean), the first one (called Kitty, Daisy, and Lewis) more skaish, the other more a reggae disco (I don't remember their name), both were really good. Then they set up the equipment and the anticipation mounted. Then a set of what I can only imagine to be songs that the band picked out to play before they went on stage: a U2 song, a rap song I didn't care for, though a roadie was break dancing to it and they shown a spotlight on him it was cute, and then Johann Strauss' "Blue Danube Waltz", swaying our arms and clapping to the "chorus" of the song (if you look up the song, you'll know what part I'm talking about). Then Coldplay came on!

I'd say when Coldplay came out they were about an inch big to us, so we could see them and whatnot, though a lot of the times you were still watching the screen, unavoidable. So they were tiny but you could still see them.

Chris dances around to what I can only explain as a wiggle crossed with a jig, throwing himself around like a rag doll. It's not necessarily violent, but boy does he move. In no way is Chris the leader of the band (I truly believe they are a tight quartet) but of course because of his marriage and the fact is he is the front man, no way to avoid that, he is the one in the most public eye. He was the Emcee of the night, the only one who actually talked to the crowd, jumped around, running all the way to the edge and flying through the air, it was really entertaining :) He kept asking how everyone was doing through out the night and added lyrics into songs about being here in Sacramento (though technically we were in Wheatland, but this is the “Sacramento” show on the Coldplay tour :) Everyone else was really good, they sounded so good live! I mean they better for being together for so long and being so successful.

What struck me the most though was their pure sincerity. I guess because they’re such a worldwide successful band, I don’t know, I somehow expected something different. But it was genuinely like “Hi, we’re Coldplay, just four guys from England who’ve been given this opportunity to play for you guys, we’re doing the very best we can, we hope you enjoy”. Obviously they never outright said any of that, but the energy coming from them was just that. It made everything they did extraordinary, and as an audience, we took in and believed all of it. Even though there were easily thousands of people watching, it felt like a super intimate performance, a true connection between group and fans, no separation, we were just all people getting to enjoy music.

Set List! Pretty Accurate I’d say. I'll add my tidbits I remember as I go along! Well first off, the stage stuff was really beautiful! Colorful and arty and a lot inspired from their CD artwork and what not, or a la Bo Rap multiplied images of them live on stage. They were 4 giant balls above them; they projected shapes and images and sometimes even what was on the big screen. They also had a big screen behind them as the backdrop which they used for the same purpose. It was a cool effect when they would start a slow song like "42" and their video would be up there in a grainy black and white, and then when it got to the rock, faster part, the video footage would pop into color, it was really effective.

Life in Technicolor - The opening of course! Just the instrumental, anticipation grew even more because they had a sheer black sheet hung in front of the stage so you saw their silhouettes and whatnot.

Violet Hill - This one was really great, their first song really, or the one with lyrics. The first was just an intro of sorts. Awesome solo by Jonny.

Clocks - Yes, this one was good :) Just plain good.

Cemeteries of London - My sister was really excited about this one. I don't remember much about it except it was good (duh).

Yellow - There was a pause before this one, where everything went black and then bam! Everything was yellow and they released the giant yellow balloons that the crowd got to play with. At the end of the song, some balloons floated up on stage and Chris bat swung at one with the head of his guitar and popped it! I had noticed as they were flying around that they were translucent with confetti inside. It still made me laugh though. My first thought was like "Oh my gosh, he killed the balloon!" And then he popped another the same way. He told us to sing along, even though it was a Tuesday, like "Oooohhh!" and then sang a little bit of "Yellow" again with the crowd going "Oooohhh!” changing the lyrics to say how good Jonny looked. :)

In My Place - Chris ran around like a crazy person on this one, it was funny. And was kind of like playfully tackling Jonny while playing and they both went over to the side of the stage and Chris fell over all dramatically onto his back at the end and kind of laid there with the mic and pitifully sang the end phrase, sort of in a "Oh I'm tired" kind of way.

Glass of Water – A great song from their EP. They had yellow lights in the big balls and an aqua rippily light on the crowd like, you guessed it, water. I really love this song now.

42 - Now this was awesome. Said above, they had the live feed of them on the big screens B&W then in color when it went to the dancey rock part. Great energy. In this one at the end Chris went over to the piano to play the last part and started to sing the final phrase but was out of breath and flopped down on the piano while still playing the notes with his right hand, and then asked us the crowd if WE were okay. And then sang the last phrase, holding the last note for a LONG time, it was awesome. Random Girly Observation: By this time, he was really sweaty and his hair on his forehead began to curl, I thought it was kind of cute actually. I know, that's kind of weird.

Right - Then they went off stage into the crowd. The spotlights would follow them so we could see they were going into the audience, then the lights would move around so we couldn't see where they were going until they got there. They were to our rights, closer this time, now a couple more inches big :) Will had a drum, Guy and Jonny guitars, and Chris had a whole piano up there.

God Put a Smile Upon Your Face/Talk - It was a little medley of the two songs.

The Hardest Part - The other three guys left and Chris sat down at the piano. He thanked us for coming on a Tuesday and missing out on stuff to come and see them like "homework". He said something along the lines of "There are many successful front man solo acts to come out a successful band and I am not one of them. So for the next 3 minutes, you'll see what an f*ing disaster that would be". This song was really awesome, and I realized how beautiful the lyrics are. Really honest, a great choice. With backing vocals by Will, who was on stage by this time.

Postcards From Far Away - My sister was really excited about this one and kept poking me. It's a gorgeous little piano instrumental from their "Prospek's March" EP and he played it flawlessly.

Viva La Vida - And then BAMB!, the rest of the group who had gone back onstage burst into Viva and Chris bounced back to the stage. It was a super cool contrast from "Postcards" to such a fun song. It was defiantly a show stopper, part une.

Lost! - Their show stopper, part deux. These songs sort of felt really "joined", both had the same energy and vibrance. It felt long and awesome.

Fix You - This was really emotionally charged. At the end when all four sing, it's the perfect sing along song. This was like the mini show stopper, part trois (oh yeah, French). They let the crowd sing the "Lights will guide you home/and ignite your bones" and Chris came in with "and I will try to Fix You". I loved singing it.

Back/Lawn - The lights did the "where are they going to go?" thing again. Then they went back to the front of the lawn section, so see the people in the back, so now they were behind us, to our left. The people on the lawn were freaking out! (Rightfully so!)

Green Eyes - Awesome acoustic. I noticed really beautiful lyrics to this one. It was super dark by this point and we were all just hanging out under the stars. :)

Cell Phone Wave - Chris then told everyone to get their cell phones out and set hold our cell phone to our side and starting with the crowd facing the stage on the right to do the "wave" with our cell phones. He said he wanted the air force to look down and think "Oh that looks cool. Looks like fun down there" and not know what was going on. So we all did the wave, right to left, left to right, right to left, left to right. :)

Death Will Never Conquer Me - Will's song! He has quite a different voice than Chris but awesome nonetheless. He’s an amazing singer! :) I downloaded this song off Coldplay's website like a year ago, as Chris said on the site so you "could learn it and sing along at our concert" with Will. It has a gospel spiritual kind of feel, very cool.

Billie Jean - Oh yeah. They played Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. An acoustic version, Chris told us to give our best Michael when the little high parts came. Chris had a good voice for it, surprisingly, maybe not surprising though. Awesome awesome awesome!

There was a little Viva La Vida Remix playing over the speakers and what looked like stars projected on the balls as the set up and got back on stage.

Politik - This is a great song. Yeah I don't remember much about this one, te he.

Strawberry Swing - A new favorite! This one is just cool, really fun song. Awesome! Love it!

Lovers of Japan - This one was awesome! Super catchy piano riff that you just dance to. This is the one with the butterfly confetti! It was kind of cool when it was shot out of the cannons, in front of the stage and in front of our section, but it was really cool when it really began to float down on us, it looks like fruit loop snow :) It was awesome. I tried to catch some, but it was too dark. But it’s okay because I literally picked up a giant handful on the way out from the ground as we left; it's like the best confetti in the world.

Also I remember somewhere around here Chris playing a little piano part that sounded like it could have been taken from the Amelie Soundtrack, I've never heard it before though. Maybe it was just something new he made up or a little improv, either way, it was lovely.

Death and All of his Friends - The moment when I knew it was almost over! This one was a really great one. Chris started it off solo, then called out for Jonny to start and the rest of the band came in. After it ended, the band applauded us all a lot and then went to the front of the stage together and did a joined arm bow, it was cute :) Epic. And then clapped a little more and then left the stage. And people began to bang the seats, I didn't know what that noise was because we were on concrete so I'm like they can't be stomping the ground. After I found out what people were doing, I joined in and we chanted their name.

Encore - Then Chris came back to the piano. He had the free CD "Left Right Left Right Left" in his hand and told us the title, saying "You can purchase this CD for zero dollars and zero cents. Don't waste your money!” He thanked us for coming, especially on a Tuesday, he told us to have a good week, and see you in a few years, and he had a look like “We hope”!

The Scientist - Chris sang this solo on the piano, and the band came in midway through as it picks up tempo.

Life in Technicolor II - This one was an awesome ending. They had all this artwork from their CD up on the middle screen. It was, in one word, inspiring, and as corny as that may sound, it was so true. Just amazing. They clapped for us again (even though we clapped harder!) and it ended on this gorgeous backdrop. All this really inspires me to paint :P

And I'm just like it's over :( / :)

Coldplay played from 9 until 11, but we didn't get home until 1:30 because of the traffic :O We did stop at In 'n Out though and got some food. Waters, I got a veggie burger and sis Steph got some fries. It took the rest of the night for it to really sink in. And this morning as I write this for my memories box of everness!

You said that the lights in Politik hurt your eyes. Were you in the pit? Maybe because you were closer than I.

It was truly a wonderful experience to see them perform their music live. It gave me understanding of many of the songs to see them express it with the light show. To see them perform live is nothing like hearing a recording. I have two examples of this: Politik and In My Place.

As for Politik, I only understood that song after seeing it at Tuesday's concert. It starts out with Chris' singing softly, "Look at us from outer space, everyone must find a place ..." like a prayer, then it gets loud with an almost angry or adamant tone with the lyrics "Open up your eyes..." with the bright white lights flashing. It was powerful. I jumped up out of my seat and began cheering to the top of my lungs.

Then Chris sings softly again, and he sounds as if he is either saying a prayer or a meditation, "Give me heart and give me soul, give me peace and self-control. ... Give me real don't give me fake..." The song keeps alternating between soft lights and singing and loud singing and pounding drum beats, the white lights flashing in time to the thumping of the bass drum. In this loud part, he is saying, "Wake up! Stop being motivated by ego and by external political forces. Be a person of integrity, sincere and honest, not a political phoney."

Chris Martin said it was one of his top 5 favorite Coldplay songs. He performed this at their first appearance at the 2003 Grammys, accompanied by an orchestra. I thought that was very gutsy of Chris to do that, considering it has such a blunt message and does not have one of Coldplay's catchier melodies. In contrast to the bluntness of Politik in 2003, at the 2006 Grammys, he sang "Talk" in a very playful and beautiful, childlike manner, beginning the song with an introduction showing him laughing at a pun about Jonny's about to "do his business on national television." It was so charming. In the middle of the song, he walked to the back of the auditorium and gave the signal for Jonny to play his solo, during which Chris ran back to the stage, playing the air guitar in sympathy while Jonny had his moment of glory on the stage, playing a fantastic solo. YouTube - Coldplay - Talk ( Live at 48th Grammy Awards 2006)

The lights during Politik didn't hurt my eyes, but I found it very enlivening. This might be because I sat right behind the pit section, not in the pit, where it might have been hard on the eyes! All in all, I loved their performance of this song.

I also had a new experience with the song "In My Place." During the refrain, "Yeaahhhh, how long must you wait for it?" I spontaneously jumped out of my seat, throwing my fist in the air, expressing my excitement for the welling emotion of that part of the song. The lights were flashing brightly while he sang that part as well. I had never been to a concert before where I felt as moved by the music as I was at Coldplay's Wheatland show. A friend of mine said that Coldplay's music sounds magical. I could not have put it better.

Alright guys, let's have a little contest! Name your top five favorites that were performed. Be selective (I know they were all good!). Here's mine!

1. Viva la Vida-Nothing can defeat the viva-ness!
2. Lovers in Japan-The video and butterflies made this a definite favorite.
3. Yellow-Great performance and the yellow balls flying around was dramatic.
4. 42-Chris's bug eyes and improvisation was great.
5. Life in Technicolor II-A great ending song, and one of my personal faves.

So ring off on your favorites from Wheatland!

I'd have to include Strawberry Swing because it was so fun and easy to dance to; I'd replace it for 42, your #4.

Also, Lost deserves a place too, because it is such a great song and has such a powerful message, but not sure what other song to take out of the list.

If they had played it, I would add Speed of Sound, since that is my favorite pre-Vida song and another that is very pleasing with its melody, rhythm, and for Chris' expression of excitement and purity in his performance of it.

Yes, I thought of Strawberry Swing just as I posted. Lost is a good song too, but I just like other songs. Speed of Sound, I agree with you on. I was so mad once I learned they had dropped it out of their setlist. :veryangry2: Another pre-Vida song I like is the Hardest Part.

Hey, which songs did you get on your MP3? I'd like to listen to to them even if they have the static! :D

I recorded the whole show, but most of it is barely audible due to the drownout of the volume. I might try loading it into Audacity to see if it can be doctored. The whole thing is one huge file now, like over 230 Mb.

[QUOTE=starfish42;3245100]I'd have to include Strawberry Swing because it was so fun and easy to dance to; I'd replace it for 42, your #4.

QUOTE]

Thinline, after seeing it again, I might put LIJ in #1 position. It seems like one of Chris' best, most animated performances (like when he did the running gesture and smiled sweetly.) I was also impressed by Chris' performance of Glasses of Water. He put a lot of heart into it. It's hard to prioritize because so many of them were simply perfect.

I've put together a playlist from the clips I could find on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=7278399C57085D21

Thanks to everyone who uploaded their clips: ColdplayRulesTheWorld (VivaLaColdplay42), AeroplaneZero04, IndieRocker30CM, Mayapapaya, Duran492, davisneels4, greeksurfer1, and KayAndNan.

I inserted a clip from a May, 2009 concert in Bristow, VA of DAAHF because I could not find a complete clip of it from Wheatland and, because it is such a powerful song, the playlist just did not seem to be complete without it.

If you have uploaded any more vids of the concert, please post a reply to this thread. You can also just "share" them with me on Youtube and I'll add them to my playlist.

Also, I might add a playlist of some clips from the Chula Vista concert on Thursday 7/16/09 since there were some very good videos uploaded to Youtube.

Alright, let us know if you do!

Lovers in Japan was good! I thought it was better than Viva, now that I think of it. The video, butterflies, and Chris jumping around was just...awesome. I was kinda mad our Viva chant was so pathetic. XD

Cool playlist, I was hoping someone got Death and All of His Friends. I'm mad the video isn't long, but I can't judge. I was more concerned with enjoying it then recording. :D

haha! I'm in your video (the girl in the white shirt on the far right at the start) And Duran is just a couple over to the left, haha. I should've looked back and said hi! I bet there were loads of people from this board that I saw and didn't realize. Aw well.

Great vid
 Thanks. That's so funny. I should've told people what I was wearing (a bright yellow Freddie Mercury T-shirt, I don't know if anyone will remember that) so I could meet some people.

Try to put performances in a list... hm...

1. Lovers In Japan - So climactic, I couldn't put it in any place but #1. We actually got to be right under the butterflies this time... it was just so amazing, fun, and visually breathtaking.
2. Viva la Vida - The lights are off, you're looking around for Coldplay (who just left the audience stage) -- the suddenly, the opening Viva strings blast over the speakers! AHHH! Always a great song, and I love to watch Will bang the drum and bell.
3. Yellow - I wish they would've given Parachutes a little more love :P but as always, this is such a fun song because of the balloons and the Jonnylove at the end (did you see his face  ). Too funny.
4. Death and All His Friends - Bittersweet... When it starts, you realize the concert's almost over  but it's such a powerful performance, made me feel like flying.
5. Strawberry Swing - I loved the audience clapping with the whole first part, no drums. I really felt a part of the song when we did that. Such a perfect song for that summer night. "Every moment was so precious..."

Honorable Mentions:
Everything else! :P But especially GPASUYF, I really love the kooky, spacey spin they put on the song. 42 - By the end, Chris sounded tired, he looked insane, then he asked if we were okay! Lost!, because Chris' dancing and Guy's drumming. Glass of Water sounded GREAT live... just... wow.

...K, I better stop there or else I'll end up actually listing the entire concert.

I was kinda mad our Viva chant was so pathetic. XD

I KNOW! Everyone just stopped when the song did, even though Will was still leading. I was thinking "WHAT, this isn't what's supposed to happen!" No one around me was chanting, but I heard a few people... so I joined in as loud as I could.

I think Viva La Vida has to be considered Coldplay's "magnum opus", as far as the song itself goes. It was their one and only #1 hit in the U.S., and they won 3 grammies this year for the song and the album. VLV was the song that broke through to millions of people and opened their hearts to Coldplay, including myself.

But as for the performances, I think Coldpaly topped it with Lovers In Japan. Chris was just so lively and playful. Maybe the festive feeling added by the falling confetti played a part, too! I saw the video of their performance of it at Thursday's 7/16/09 concert and Chris' spontaneous expressions pushed it over the top as far as I'm concerned. Chris' subtle little smiles he gave when he sang it in Chula Vista were precious. He has endearing expressions that I love. I'll see if I can find the clip to post it here to show you what I mean. He seems very fun-loving.

Here are a couple of clips from the San Diego show. Listen to how excitedly the crowd is yelling! They sound as if they are in pure ecstacy, delighted by this performance and the butterflies!

I'd like to thank you, too, for posting this and the other videos, but especially Glass of Water! I loved Chris' performance of this song and was looking for a video of it. He seemed to put a lot of his personality and heart into singing this song. I just love it.

This song sounds as if it's written for his son, Moses (love that name! I think it says something about Chris' character to name him that.) I heard him say in an interview that this was his favorite Coldplay song.

Also, for DAAHF. I'm completely addicted to listening to that song. It is so sweet and powerful.

After listening and watching the video more, I think "42" deserves a place in the top 5. Chris' vocals are awesome, and when the fast part of the song starts, Chris gets up from the piano and begins dancing furiously to the music before he picks up his guitar for the "Well, you might be a ghost" part of the song. There was one clip that showed Chris' moves clearly, but I can't find the clip now. I will post it when I do. It is one of the best examples of Chris remarkable dancing skills and his excellent physical conditioning. I'd love to know his workout/exercise routine. A few years ago, he said he gets up at 4 AM and does the Chuck Norris workout but I think he was joking because he was on tour and he most likely would not rise at 4 AM the morning after a concert! I think he was spoofing on American culture when he said that!

...Geez Starfish, you should revise your favorites list, you keep changing it. :P...

It's like the movie "Sophie's Choice," where the Nazis force Meryl Streep to choose which of her two children can live and which has to die. In a panic, she says, "Here, take the girl," whom she is holding and and hands her over to the Germans to be killed, the girl screaming in fear. Sophie lives the rest of her life regretting that. It's hard to leave some of Coldplay's songs out of a favorites list because they all represent something precious of Coldplay.

BTW, regarding my username, Starfish, I was reading the Timeline on Coldplay's website http://www.coldplay.com/timeline.php which says:

16/1/98 – The One and Only Starfish Gig – Despite only having been in the band a few days, Will organized our first gig in the Laurel Tree. Unfortunately, we had no name and in a panic chose Starfish. The gig went ok, although we played one song twice – not a good idea. JB

(Click 1998, then the TV icon, then click to play the video for Coldplay's firsthand explanation in their own voices.) Interestingly, the club was filled and there was a line of people waiting down the block. They had mass appeal from their earliest days. But the timeline says that they lost a demo competition on XFM radio to another band and that they secretly admired that band's song.

To me, they would have been just as great with the name Starfish! A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. That's why I picked it as my username, but I hadn't realized that they only played one gig under that name, :shocked2: so I might change my name. :\

My top favorites and why:

1. Viva La Vida - Coldplay's "Magnum Opus"
2. Lost - Chris' dancing
3. Strawberry Swing - "It's such a perfect day!... Could be blue, I don't mind, Without you it's a waste of time." Easy to dance to and "now my feet won't touch the ground!"
4. Lovers in Japan - Butterflies! and Chris' expression
5. 42 - Chris' spastic dancing before "Well, you might be a ghost."
6. Glass of Water - Chris' expression and heartfelt "realness"
7. DAAHF - Jonny's sad but loving guitar riff, brings tears to my eyes
8. In My Place/Politik - the bright flashing lights during the high energy parts "Yeaahhhh, how long must you wait for it?" and

"Open up your eyes."
"Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Wounds that heal and cracks that fix
Tell me your own politik
But give me love over, love over, love over this!"

9. Talk - Techno version - because I love this song so much!
10. LIT 1 - dramatic opening when we finally "see" Coldplay as large shadow images and LIT2, a prophetic, thought-provoking close
11. Escapist pre-opening and outro - a peaceful, inter-dimensional song about love and death (Tears.)

What a wonderful, magical night we shared with Coldplay on 7/14/09!
