I hope someone is recording an mp3 version from the radio or TV! I tried to get it setup in a hurry on my mac and couldn't get it working in time. :(
No worries, I've got a recording going and someone else does too so hopefully we've got it covered. :)

I get your point. I don't know whether it's really warm in Sydney or whatever, but he seemed REALLY puffed and couldn't finish a few lines to the songs. Maybe he was running around too much (although he did that at the concert and had no problems). Plus at the end of one of the songs (don't remember which one) he just collapsed on the floor, unable to finish the line.
Anyway - it was great! Looking forward to music/video/youtube uploads!

British rock super group Coldplay have opened Sydney's Sound Relief concert, with singer Chris Martin making an extraordinary dash through the crowd.
After a six song set, which included a duet with John Farnham, Martin leapt off the stage and ran half the length of the Sydney Cricket Ground to greet fans at the back of the event.
Martin embraced a number of fans, high fived people as he was running along and briefly took refuge on one side of the stadium, before returning into the crowd and clambering back on to the stage. He then managed to finish singing the lyrics to the Coldplay song Fix You.
Previous to that song Martin welcomed Australian singing legend Farnham onto stage for a rendition of You're The Voice.
"Ladies and gentleman, please welcome to sing the Australian national anthem, John Farnham,'' said Martin, with a laugh before playing backup music to You're The Voice.
In what was an unusual sight for the UK rock band, the SCG was less than half full when they took the stage at 12.20pm, but many fans sprinted across the ground when they heard the first song being played by the band.
The group started with a brief instrumental, which led into their classic hit Yellow.
While many fans were jammed in towards the front of the stage to get a close-up view of Martin and his bandmates, others took a more casual approach - setting up picnic rugs at the back of the SCG's grassy area.
At the end of their set, the band sent their best wishes to the victims of the Victorian bushfires and the Queensland floods.
The concert event, which is being held simultaneously in Sydney and Melbourne, is expected to stretch for at least 10 hours with groups including Wolfmother, Jet and Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb due to perform on stage.
Gibb is the headliner of the Sydney event and will appear on stage alongside Olivia Newtown John.
In Melbourne Kylie Minogue is due to appear and Midnight Oil will make the headline performance this evening, with Federal MP Peter Garrett back on stage as frontman.
The proceeds for the Sydney Sound Relief concert will be split between Victorian bushfire victims and those affected by devastating floods in Queensland.
The Melbourne event is being staged entirely for bushfire victims, given the horrific losses suffered there through bushfires.

Crackers, you should have Viva La Vida as well, they showed that on "V"...
We should make sure the thing that's going to be at 7:50 that keeps being mentioned by the announcers isn't something like Coldplay + Kylie or something rediculously awesome...

My friend messaged me and said Chris ran right by him.
I was watching it all on TV and thought it was hilarious when he jumped the fence and ran through the crowd with his arms out and all the people chasing him. The looks on the security guards faces were priceless :laugh3: Champion.
Wasn't overly impressed by the TV commentator Yumi, mentioning one of the band members as "Will Berryman"

triple j's music director Richard Kingsmill just gave coldplay a massive talking up. this is a guy who was a big fan for the first 2 albums then turned against them totally after X&Y and i never thought i would hear him say another good word about them. but after watching them he like me has completely changed his mind about them as live performers. i think this week in sydney will forever be known as Coldplay Week!!

Sound relief hits Sydney and Melbourne
14th March 2009, 12:45 WST

http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/ad/sport/arts_cont;tile=6;sz=300x600;ord=123456789? (http://ad.au.doubleclick.net/jump/sport/arts_cont;tile=6;sz=300x600;ord=123456789?)
Australian rock lovers are in for a big trip down memory lane as performers from more than three decades hit the stage at Saturday's Sound Relief concerts in Melbourne and Sydney. Some iconic Aussie bands - including Midnight Oil and Hunters & Collectors - are getting back together for one night only in aid of the victims of Victoria's devastating bushfires and Queensland's floods.
In Melbourne, the music gets under way at the MCG from midday with Jet, who broke through in 2004 with the single Are You Gonna Be My Girl, followed by young pop sensation Gabriella Cilmi.
Augie March and Wolfmother will also play to the 80,000 strong crowd, along with Paul Kelly and Split Enz and international acts Kings of Leon and Jack Johnson.
Pop princess Kylie Minogue has flown in from London to be the show's "special MC".
All profits from the $75 a head event will go to the Bushfire Fund Appeal.
Singer Chris Martin says he feels like an honorary Australian after his band Coldplay opened the Sydney Sound Relief bushfire benefit concert.
The UK superstars, who took to the stage at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) just after midday (AEDT) on Saturday, later cemented their `Aussie credentials' when they were joined on stage by John Farnham.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to sing the Australian national anthem, John Farnham," Martin said.
With Coldplay as his backing band, Farnham led a crowd of thousands in a rousing rendition of You're The Voice.
Martin opened the set with an extended intro of Viva La Vida before launching their huge hit Yellow as dozens of yellow balloons bounced around the audience.
"Today, is the only day we can claim to be honorary Australians," Martin said.
Cricketer Shane Warne appeared onstage, while actress Toni Collette and her baby daughter Sage were among the crowd who paid $75 a ticket to attend the benefit bash.
Half the profits will go to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal, the other half to The Premier's Disaster Relief Fund Appeal in Queensland for victims of the recent floods.
The Sydney concert is being held simultaneously with one in Melbourne. Together they are expected to raise more than $5 million.
Wolfmother were the second act to take the Sydney stage, playing hits including Woman and Colossal.
"I'm very proud to be a part of this event," frontman Andrew Stockdale told the media before the show.
"It's an enormous, historical moment ...
"That just shows what this country does: it gets behind people when they are down and out, and tries to help."
At the other end of the day, Bee Gee Barry Gibb will close the show with some of his famous hits, as well as a special performance with Olivia Newton-John.
1980s band Icehouse have reformed for the benefit, You Am I and Hoodoo Gurus are sure to be crowd favourites, while Jet and the new-look Wolfmother will take to the stage in Melbourne and Sydney.
Dance duo The Presets, US country sensation Taylor Swift, and Perth bands Eskimo Joe and Little Birdy are among the other big names on the bill.
Profits from the Sydney concert will be split between the Victorian bushfire and Queensland flood relief efforts.

completely out of his tree!!! I don't think I've ever seen security move so fast
don't think Chris will be allowed to play out tonight, he's gonna get grounded or will be writing lines. :laugh3:
I must not run out into the crowd when my security know nothing of my plans.
:escaping: :escaping::escaping::escaping::escaping::escaping: :escaping::escaping::escaping::escaping: <---Jonny, followed by Mich, Lori, Ang, Mel, Min, Jess, Viri, Kara, Mari
:P
better plan: jonny runs off stage, crowd follow him, you stay at the front near where he has to come back and catch him as he returns. you won't be knackered & sweaty from chasing him then :laugh3:
He's bloody lucky! I'm not surprised the security freaked out :stunned: All those people running after him.
Oh Christopher, you silly boy :laugh4:
was it Kelly who came flying off the stage?
Here's one from the crowd perspective:

did you see the security in yellow, pointing, obviously saying get back now!!?

Sunny Coldplay take rock honours over soggy Kings
GETTING the biggest bands in the country to play Sound Relief was always going to be enough to draw big crowds. But when the show's co-promoters Michael Gudinski and Michael Chugg realised that two of the biggest rock bands in the world, Kings of Leon and Coldplay, would both be in the country on March 13 to play arena shows in Melbourne and Sydney, the stars had aligned in more ways than one.
The stage was set for the clash for the heavyweight rock world championship.
Before Kings of Leon strutted onto the MCG stage for its highly anticipated early afternoon set, footage of Coldplay's Sydney sun-drenched show was broadcast on the MCG's big screens.
Coldplay certainly took early honours with singer Chris Martin stalking the stage to wring every last bit of emotion out of songs such as Yellow, until he collapsed on the floor.
He also won points for humour. "We never thought we'd be the 15th support act for the Bee Gees," Martin joked.
In contrast, Kings of Leon were more low key. Frontman Caleb Followill delivered songs in his raspy growl from the one position. It didn't help that the band had decided against playing its biggest hit, Sex on Fire, deeming it inappropriate (whether that was because of its incendiary title or its references to STDs remained unclear).
At a press conference before its set, the band also suggested that every time it played an outdoor stadium, it seemed to rain. Those words were prophetic when the heavens opened as soon as it struck its first notes. Victory, then, to Coldplay, though they lost some points for inviting John Farnham on stage to belt out what Martin playfully referred to as "the Australian national anthem", You're the Voice.

Coldplay are Aussies for a day at Sound Relief
March 15, 2009 12:00am
http://www.news.com.au/common/imagedata/0,,6531221,00.jpg
IT was the perfect start to Sound Relief: Coldplay, the world's biggest band, performing the iconic song You're The Voice alongside veteran rocker John Farnham.
The unusual musical pairing was a hit with the energetic crowd at the Sydney Cricket Ground - and went a long way to ensuring that yesterday was a music event to remember.

Farnham, 58, came out of retirement for the one-off performance with Coldplay's effortlessly charismatic lead singer Chris Martin saying he felt like an "honorary Australian".
"When you come to Australia and you've only really got two hit singles, which we've already played before, you think to yourself, how am I going to impress everyone from row one to row 5000?," Martin said. "Ladies and gentleman, please welcome to sing the Australian national anthem - John Farnham."
Coldplay was given the task of opening Sound Relief in Sydney, while a simultaneous concert was held in Melbourne.
And the band didn't disappoint.
The UK band began their set of seven songs with their hit, Yellow, as dozens of massive yellow balloons were thrown around in the crowd. They also performed Lost, Viva La Vida and Clocks.
"We are proud to be starting this whole day off," Martin said to rapturous applause and cheers from the stadium crowd.
"For all us foreign guests today, it is the only day we can claim to be honorary Australians . . . thanks for letting us be part of this very special day."
Farnham joined Coldplay onstage for the band's sixth song, confirming one of the event's worst kept secrets.
During Coldplay's final song, Martin leapt off the stage and ran through the crowd, making it half the length of the SCG.
During his dash, he embraced and high-fived fans before taking refuge on one side of the stadium.
Martin then managed to make his way back to the stage and sing the remainder of the song Fix You.
Up to 45,000 people crammed into the Sydney Cricket Ground to see the 14 live acts, including Taylor Swift, The Presets and Josh Pyke.
In Melbourne, Jet kicked off proceedings, followed by Gabriella Cilmi, Kings of Leon, Augie March, Jack Johnson, Kasey Chambers, Paul Kelly, Split Enz and Midnight Oil.
Cilmi, who made a flying trip to Australia from the UK where she is recording her second album, said she had friends who had been affected by the recent bushfires.
"It's pretty close to home," she told a press conference. "I know people that have been affected, people that have had to evacuate their houses."
Pouring rain and chilly temperatures in the Victorian capital failed to dampen the festive mood, with as many as 80,000 packing into the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Many also donned green and yellow plastic raincoats in a show of patriotism.
Playing both Sydney and Melbourne shows were the rock bands Jet and Wolfmother.
Organisers at Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring expected the combined events to raise more than $5 million for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal and Queensland flood victims.
Wolfmother lead singer Andrew Stockdale said Sound Relief was one of the most significant events in Australian music history.
"It's an enormous historic moment," he said.
"It's the biggest event in Australian history that just shows what this country does - it gets behind people when they are down and out."
Presenters introducing the big name acts at the SCG included radio and television personalities Ian Dickson, Kate Ritchie and Tim Ross, actors Jack Thompson and David Wenham and cricketer Shane Warne.
"I've played the cricket ground many times, but I've never seen it as packed as this," Warne said.
"To all of you who came out here today, thank you very much, it's a great cause."
The bumper entertainment line-up ended with a comeback performance by the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb and Olivia Newton John, performing Islands In The Stream.
A minute's silence was also held at 7.45pm to honour the 210 lives that were lost during Australia's worst natural disaster.

lol that was pretty cool, I have a feeling he got a little more than he bargained for there but ... I kinda feel for the guy. I mean his celebrity level is such that its hard for him to do the interaction stuff, but he seems like a naturally really sociable and fun guy so maybe just once he wanted to do something on a whim lol. I don't think he'll be trying that again any time soon though. Kinda reminded me of the Twisted Logic Tour, when everything wasn't so choreographed.

He's such a legend!

Sound Relief was so awesome! The crowd went wild when John Farnham came on, it was the highlight of the day! Everyone was singing along to You're The Voice. I think maybe part of Chris' run into the crowd was also to add some extra excitement after the duet. I truly don't think the security were impressed though.
A few yellow balloons got carried by the wind right out of the stadium! How funny to be the person walking along and randomly a giant balloon flies towards you :D
Also, Chris mentioned my section!! I think it was before VLV he said something about the entire crowd singing if their voices permitted and they knew the words, even if you're "all the way up there in section 317"!! I felt special, even though it was just a coincidence.
A great day!
