hmmmm.. that's tough. I've had seats in section 109 before (just to the right of where you are) and they were actually quite good. Section 108 near the front sounds stellar, really. I guess it just depends on HOW close you want to be and, of course, how much you're willing to pay to upgrade. I really don't think you'll get a tremendously different experience unless you're able to score the first few rows. Maybe Angie or someone who's seen Coldplay at the Woodlands can give more insight there.

Haha I guess to summarize...do I have good seats?Depends on how for up front of the front section you get and how tall you are. If you are short and the tickets are near the back of the front section, stay in section 108 because it is elevated and you will have a better view from the front of the back, than the back of the front . haha if that makes sense to you. :P Unless I personally was moving up to say somewhere in the first 10 rows, I would stay put.

I had some luck selling an extra pair of tix I had to the Dallas show on craigslist. Try there, or maybe stubhub. There's also a thread in this forum too, for tickets for sale or trade. Also, you may need to be prepared to sell at a loss- there seem to be alot of tickets for sale out there still, even though the show is sold out :( Good luck!

At the Woodlands, B stage will most likely be on the handy cap platform at the back of section 103 and C stage on the lawn behind 105-106 area.

BUT, after reading your posts and realizing that I want this experience to be ALL that I can get out of it, I think I want to upgrade my seats. I have found a few on different sites, but I know that some are better than others. If someone who knows the Woodlands would be so kind as to direct me as to which would be the best seats I would be SO very happy. Congrats on your first Coldplay concert and your decision to upgrade- you won't be disappointed!

It's been a while since I've been to a concert at the Woodlands, but just based on the options you have and looking at the seating chart, I think I personally would go for the Sec. 102 Row C tickets. That's VERY CLOSE and center. I don't remember how flat that bottom section is, so the only bad thing would be if you're short (like me), and if it's flat, it may be difficult to see. But other than that potential issue, those sound like great seats to me!

I think the VIP access to the club thing is just a lounge they have set up for those ticket holders... I think. don't quote me on it! ;)

EDIT: Now that I think about it, if you ARE short, the aisle seats may be better, just to give you the ability to move a bit into the aisle away from other heads :)

edited to ask: what does VIP access to the club mean?102 C is the best off that list. Center section, just behind the pit! VIP access to the club means you can go in through this bar and don't have to enter through the normal entrance gates and have to stand out in the heat with us peasants.

Probably really early. I've heard people getting there at noon and there are STILL 10 or so people already lined up :stunned:

For Dallas, I'm just going late, after the opening acts. It's just too hot. I don't need to be right up against the stage - plus too much body heat, ha. I'm planning on hanging out at the back in one corner, ha.

But if you are aiming for the front, be prepared to line up and wait in the sun!

Coldplay Rolls Into Town With A Grammy, Praise From Paul McCartney

Chris Martin is an extraordinarily talented and affable chap. Just don't ask the singer how Coldplay became the biggest band in the world.

“It makes my brain melt,” said Martin, who added that he really doesn't agree with the premise. Not to mention that a recent Bruce Springsteen concert blew him away and reminded him that pecking order is irrelevant.

“It really doesn't matter who's biggest today.”

OK, so maybe the Grammy-winning band didn't start out wanting to rule the world, but how does one handle it when it happens?

“I have a hard time believing it,” Martin said. “Maybe it's because I'm British or because I'm too religious. I feel lucky.”

But Martin's reasoning about why it happened is quite astute: “When Radiohead went less commercial.”

Coldplay, which makes a stop in The Woodlands on Wednesday, is known for epic-sounding albums and big hits Yellow, Clocks, The Hardest Part and Viva La Vida, as well as for Martin's marriage to Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

There was also that blip last year when rock guitarist Joe Satriani sued the band for copyright infringement, claiming that Viva La Vida was too close to his 2004 song If I Could Fly. Coldplay has denied the charge.

But Brian Eno's work on Viva La Vidaor Death and All His Friends — the Grammy's reigning album of the year — elevated an already award-winning band, which also includes guitarist Jon Buckland, drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman.

“It's like going back to school and tearing up all the rules,” Martin said. “He guides you down the path. He doesn't care about Yellow.”

Martin acknowledged Eno's ways took some getting used to.

“He doesn't treat you like you're famous,” he said.

On record, Coldplay is all about Martin's angelic voice, which he says he's kept in shape for the last 10 years with the help of “a funny lady in England named Mary.”

But onstage, the band brings “a spectacle,” he says, that depends on a huge crew.

“What worries me is that I don't know how to plug anything in anymore,” Martin says. “I'm powerless.”

But he'll take the entourage over the old days. “I can play piano at home any time,” he said.

One thing you can't do at home is getting to hang around with Jay-Z and Paul McCartney.

“Jay-Z is one of my musical heroes. He's a personal hero the way he conducts himself,” said Martin.

About their musical association: “It's part of my education.”

McCartney is another kettle of fish. The two crossed paths at the Grammy Awards, where Coldplay performed in colorful outfits reminiscent of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper-era uniforms.

“He's almost a saintly figure in England,” Martin said. “It's hard to not think of him as a mythical figure.”

He joked that Sir Paul is a little stingy when doling out praise.

“He'll give you a nod and doesn't leave,” Martin said. “He called us a ‘good little band.' ”

New Member here! :-) Huge Coldplay fan...... 1st post.

So, the tickets that I have for this Houston show, say that the show starts at 7:30...... I have company coming into town (Houston) tomorrow, so I'd like to leave as late as possible, and still catch the entire Coldplay show of course.... The Cold play website lists 2 opening acts for this show.....

Does anybody have a guess as to what time Coldplay is taking the stage?

I just decided to head over from New Orleans sometime last week. I bought a single PIT ticket from a scalper for $180.

I've seen Coldplay a ton but I was going to be in Beaumont for work this week so I just decided to finish the drive to Houston.

Is anybody else in PIT? If it's as small as some of ya'll are saying than I guess I can just show up whenever. Is there an opening group for this show?

Yeah, the PIT is not that big, but that also means if it's to capacity, it'll be hot and crowded. The Dallas PIT was pretty large, but not completely full, so you could roam around and the far edges were almost completely devoid of people meaning you could go right up to the catwalks and rails where they leave for the B and C stages - it was great! It was also a place to cool down. It was soooo hot in the center of the PIT with all that body heat, etc.

I got to the venue around 8pm and the PIT wasn't that full at all. It was about 6 rows deep of people in the center. It's better to hang out at the back and try to move to the sides to get close-up pics!

I'm 8th row center this show, and honestly glad to have a seat. The PIT is so exhausting I don't think I could ever do two in a row!

There are two opening acts - although I forget their names...

Hey all!! Just got home from the show and it was another stonker! The boys were in such a good mood tonight - all seemed super enthusiastic and happy. I'm sure the sold out crowd helped, but the audience was SO much more into the show than in Dallas.

Angie and I kept each other company through the opening bands - she lucked out since her seat was RIGHT NEXT to the door that they would come out for the B-Stage! HA! Lucky! No cape tonight, she was wearing her Southampton footie jersey, so we'll see if she gets some love from Will! We were having a good chuckle with Amadou & Mariam and trying to understand them, ha. Anyhoo, the seats next to her remained empty until I left to go to my seat around 8:45pm. She also befriended the security guard and got him to keep his setlist for her. Lucky again. I, however, did not luck out with a setlist again. This time I tried the sound booth, but no luck. She gave me a homemade Jonny guitar pick too, which I thought was really funny! Ooh, and she got this security guard a chair since he was standing (mainly because he blocked her view :sneaky:) but it was a nice gesture and he seemed awfully pissy about the whole thing... mmm.

Anyway, the show was incredible. The setlist went back to it's original form, so Trouble must have been a Dallas only thing for now. Makes it even better that I went to that show too! I definately had more fun at the Dallas show since I was able to free-roam around in the PIT. This show I was sandwhiched between general folk and had a super tall guy in front of me, ugh, so it was sometimes hard to get pics and vids.

There was a looming thunderstorm throughout part of the show, but luckily it never rained. I got some of the flashes on video while recording some of the B-Stage stuff, since I couldn't yesterday due to the retard security guard.

When Chris was talking about the LRLRL CD, he said TX always boos when they say they won't be coming back for a while (happened last night in Dallas, and tonight!). Well of COURSE, we want them back!! Anyway, he said he wasn't sure it was a good or bad thing, but of course everyone cheered to reassure him it was good :)

Will must have seen someone he knew in the audience at the end of the show, since he was awfully dapper and smiley at one point and was waving into the crowd. Not sure what that was about but I got some of it on video.

Took much more video today since it was my last show for a while and the security people weren't crappy like yesterday. I have pics and will post some in a bit!

SEE that's what happened to me yesterday in Dallas with security... If you are in the wrong place, they harass you. Well, this time I was a recording fool and got a ton :laugh3: Although, the video I wanted to be great was the one where they left for the B-Stage (I think you can glimpse your hair in it!) and GPASUYF, but the sound is all messed up once Will starts drumming. Ugh, I have NEVER been able to get a good one and I swear my finger was not over the microphone! And it's weird since Chris speaking and The Hardest Part came out fine... Mmmm, maybe it's just William's electronic beats?!

Well here it is! Off to bed for me! I'll upload some more tomorrow!

The concert was AMAZING!! Chris was so full of energy as usual :D I loved Jonny's guitar-dancing as well. Guy was so cute(we made dead eyecontact) And Will was such a bad ass, he is so awesome. I even got a chance to see(and touch) Phil. He was infront of the pit barrier taking pictures. When he was passing by during DAAHF I yelled "PHIL!" he just turned around and smiled. I took a couple of pictures of Mr. Harvey :D:D:D
I was in the front and center of the pit, not letting got of that bar, so I was literally inches away from Chris when he did that little bowing during "Fix You" (then he just jumps up):laugh3: Since I was so close I went crazy with my camera and took ALOT of pictures. This was the best way to end my last Coldplay concert(til their next LP that is:P) And to top the night off I got a setlist :D:D:D:D:D

i sat on row 107 and i was screaming and jumping and dancing throughout the whole way cause this was my first coldplay concert and my first concert ever.

i was one of few people who dressed up pretty weird for the concert. i got myself the jonny buckland cap and throughout the concert i was screaming "Go JONNY BOI!!!!!!!" behind me was whwerre they were gonna be for the C stage. so i moved to the lawn while they were in the B stage. but when they finished the B stage they went back to the main stage and viva la vida started.

and i had a choice. stay in the lawn until they move there so i can be close to them or go back to my original spot to sing viva la vida with my mom and dad. i decided to go back with my parents and sing with them viva la vida because i wanted to experience that song with my mom cause we have had great times singing it in the car full blast.

and when they moved to C stage it was awesome. they played billie jean and they were so close(10 feet+) i kept on yelling "i love you chris, jonny, will, guy"

i loved the way jonny was dancing and whenever it was time for his solo i kept on screaming his name. the guys in front of me just kept looking at me. i have to admit that in my section i didnt see anyone jumping like i was. i was just so happy. whenever another song started i literally went crazy no lie. i was jumped as high as i could and screamed at the top of my lungs. the videos i took suck cause of all my jumping lol. it was a great night. super awesome.

Great show last night!! Took forever to get home though (330 am) I was in 103 row q right in the middle of the row. I went to the 1st houston show and the san antonio show and I gotta admit, I think the crowd was more into it at the sa show.. or maybe it was just the people around me.. not sure. Despite that, The guys did great tonight and seemed really in a good mood talking to the audience throughout the show. It was my first trip to the venue and have to say it's an awesome place to see a concert, the atmosphere is great! I took some pics and video and I'll add them in the near future.


Again, great show by the guys as they really fed off the crowd although I do wish the people around me were a bit more into the show. Many people were sitting down during songs, It seemed like I was the only one standing during DAAHF until the the drums kicked in. Anyway, great show and performance by the band!!!!

Hey all!! Just got home from the show and it was another stonker! The boys were in such a good mood tonight - all seemed super enthusiastic and happy. I'm sure the sold out crowd helped, but the audience was SO much more into the show than in Dallas.

Angie and I kept each other company through the opening bands - she lucked out since her seat was RIGHT NEXT to the door that they would come out for the B-Stage! HA! Lucky! No cape tonight, she was wearing her Southampton footie jersey, so we'll see if she gets some love from Will! We were having a good chuckle with Amadou & Mariam and trying to understand them, ha. Anyhoo, the seats next to her remained empty until I left to go to my seat around 8:45pm. She also befriended the security guard and got him to keep his setlist for her. Lucky again. I, however, did not luck out with a setlist again. This time I tried the sound booth, but no luck. She gave me a homemade Jonny guitar pick too, which I thought was really funny! Ooh, and she got this security guard a chair since he was standing (mainly because he blocked her view :sneaky:) but it was a nice gesture and he seemed awfully pissy about the whole thing... mmm.

Anyway, the show was incredible. The setlist went back to it's original form, so Trouble must have been a Dallas only thing for now. Makes it even better that I went to that show too! I definately had more fun at the Dallas show since I was able to free-roam around in the PIT. This show I was sandwhiched between general folk and had a super tall guy in front of me, ugh, so it was sometimes hard to get pics and vids.

There was a looming thunderstorm throughout part of the show, but luckily it never rained. I got some of the flashes on video while recording some of the B-Stage stuff, since I couldn't yesterday due to the retard security guard.

When Chris was talking about the LRLRL CD, he said TX always boos when they say they won't be coming back for a while (happened last night in Dallas, and tonight!). Well of COURSE, we want them back!! Anyway, he said he wasn't sure it was a good or bad thing, but of course everyone cheered to reassure him it was good :)

Will must have seen someone he knew in the audience at the end of the show, since he was awfully dapper and smiley at one point and was waving into the crowd. Not sure what that was about but I got some of it on video.

Took much more video today since it was my last show for a while and the security people weren't crappy like yesterday. I have pics and will post some in a bit!

i saw you and Angie. infact, the first person i saw once i sat down was Angie. i was about 20 rows behind you guys. nice pics and videos by the way!

The concert was AMAZING!! Chris was so full of energy as usual :D I loved Jonny's guitar-dancing as well. Guy was so cute(we made dead eyecontact) And Will was such a bad ass, he is so awesome. I even got a chance to see(and touch) Phil. He was infront of the pit barrier taking pictures. When he was passing by during DAAHF I yelled "PHIL!" he just turned around and smiled. I took a couple of pictures of Mr. Harvey :D:D:D
I was in the front and center of the pit, not letting got of that bar, so I was literally inches away from Chris when he did that little bowing during "Fix You" (then he just jumps up):laugh3: Since I was so close I went crazy with my camera and took ALOT of pictures. This was the best way to end my last Coldplay concert(til their next LP that is:P) And to top the night off I got a setlist :D:D:D:D:D

ok the nothing really special happened to me, but it was a great show!
if only i had been at the end of the row i could have gotten a video similar to Angie's hi 5 video. :\
also, my we waited around for about an hour where the band would have come out because we were pretty sure they were still there (there was a line of people with backstage passes waiting to meet the band after the show) but some police peeps on horses who had sat there with the about 10 or so of us that whole time out of the blue told us to leave. after an hour.
could have told us sooner :shifty:
