I am absolutely going to this concert and am going to plan work and vacations accordingly around it. Not listed on LiveNation yet likely due to the pre-sale being two weeks away, but I've got to get friends' summer schedules ASAP.

The Home Depot Center is a very interesting (outdoor!) venue consisting of a tennis court, soccer stadium, and track facility. I've been to the tennis court a few times for non-sporting events, but it seems too small for a concert. And the problem with the soccer stadium is that with its sheer size and ability to hold 27,000 people (and that's just seats above the floor), I truly hope Coldplay is ready for their biggest California concert ever if they use it. Methinks the tennis court would be a lot more feasible with the floor stuff (rallies I've been to there were all great).

Having already dazzled at the Forum and Honda Center on its tour behind the acclaimed album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, Coldplay will next invade Home Depot Center in Carson on July 18, with a stop two days before that at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre (formerly Coors Amphitheatre) in Chula Vista.

If memory serves, the British quartet, heavily favored to rack up several trophies at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards — including quite possibly the prizes for album, record and song of the year — will be the first band to headline at the HDC since Green Day conquered generations young and old with American Idiot. By the way, Chris Martin & Co. also will be spotlighted in a segment on 60 Minutes just before the Grammy telecast on CBS.

Tickets for the Carson bash go on sale Feb. 21, while the Cricket show goes up a week earlier, Feb. 23. Stay tuned for any further details.

I'm not gonna lie - the stadium floor sounds amazing. I was turned off by the floor at the last concert and settled with the stands, but considering the dynamics of this venue, I'm seriously gonna try for a stellar floor spot.

Right now I'm needing two tickets. More could join in the next week before I get into the massive ticket-sniping brawl with the rest of you on the 20th, but keeping it small will make it easier to get A-grade seats.

man....if only the US had concerts like Europe or other countries! Majority of their concerts are GA even though the crowds are well over 100,000! Like Glastonbury....they have a crowd of over 180,000 when it is held and it's GA. It looks amazing.....

I'm still concerned about the Ticket Rush website...seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth and I can't remember the monthly password. LOL aww fix you is a great song though. understandable! I managed to get myself a butterly walking on the way out... though, I'm not sure where it is now. My seats weren't actually that bad! Could have been better, but not that bad. I could see them on the screens pretty well and I was elevated a bit so it was a good view!

Hey Erick! What's up, man? Really? Awesome!!! Have fun. I was thinking of doing the same, but with the way the economy is I think one is good. DEFINITELY not enough, but seeing Coldplay live IS seeing Coldplay live! Plus, The Fray, another one of my favorite bands, is touring this summer so I gotta see them too! I met them in December.

I am not going to buy tickets in advance. I think this is going to be an easy ticket, and I will look to buy it at a discount on the secondary market. They have already played SoCal 3X on the Viva tour, and, now, they are moving to stadiums. I think it will be saturated.

Anyone who wants to go to this show will be able to go. Tickets for the forum and honda center were in high demand, but this is a large stadium. I remember during the X&Y tour, the tickets for the verizon wireless shows were hot, but I was getting into the forum and honda center shows for $20 or less...and with good tickets.

I just can't get over how expensive their tickets have become. Not to say that Coldplay has ticket prices that are more outrageous than other bands, but $130 for the best seats is freaking expensive. I like too many bands, and attend too many concerts, to pay that kind of money.

I can't really say. I know that I did the pre-sale this tour for The Gorge and San Diego shows and got great tickets for both. I was curious to see what the general sale would bring, so I looked around saturday morning just for the heck of it and really didn't see much that was great. Certainly nothing right up front.
So I'd say your chances tomorrow are going to be slimmer than they were today.

Anyone know how many rows there are in the GA section? I know I "got" row 10 so there are at least 10 rows. Only reason I'm asking is I doubt I'll be able to get down there to camp til the morning of the show. I'm sure even the last row of the GA section will be great, but still...the closer the better!

Now the only thing to worry about is getting cameras in. ;)

When I saw The Cure at the HDC years back the GA Floor was sections B1-D1. They actually still had seats in A1 and E1 and obviously all the way back...

So I logged on to purchase tickets at 10, my wait time kept saying 3,4,5 minutes.. i kept getting 2nd level I tried for 30 minutes and by some miracle I got 2 tickets in GA 3, row 4!!!!! I'm still not sure how it happened but I am thanking my lucky stars!

I am still a little confused about the GA seats, from the replies it looks like there is 5 GA sections, are they are like first come, first serve? or will I actually be in GA, section 3? Either way, they are good seats and I am soo soo happy!

While it doesn't help much with the field level/floor seats, you can get an idea of how big this place is. You can type in the location for the side seats (100, 200 levels, etc).

How are they going to do the balls without rafters? Definitely will be a different experience from the Forum and Honda Center.

I am just settling for 2 General Floor Admission tickets from some girl I just met for $300, so only $50 more without the hassle of trying to find GA tickets again while guaranteeing me GA tickets!

I will be attending the San Diego show on the 16th, so as soon as that's over, the next day...the 17th I will be camping for this show!

YEP. Ticketmaster didn't know the seating chart for this show so they directed me to the box office number which is 3106302020 to which the people here informed me earlier (as stated in my earlier post) General Admission is in A1-E1.

The only reason for assigned seats/rows is for Inventory reasons so they don't sell more than the capacity can hold on the floor section.

And yes, it works the same as other General Admissions. It is first come first serve basis and as stated, they do not know when they will start letting people camp yet. Some venues they said will let you camp out days before and some will only let you start the day of (12am).

When I camped out for a Justin Timberlake show, I went at 7am in the morning and still got front row. And other shows I went to and camped out....but this is Coldplay and this venue does hold 27000 people so who knows! I guess only time will tell as time comes closer!

From GA confusion to not even having a seating chart, it seems that once again, Ticketmaster drops the ball.

I know it's still a whopping five months in the planning, but even though I'm not camping out (my tickets aren't GA), I still think meeting up would be cool. Granted, the girls I'm taking would have no idea what's going on, but I've known 'em for years and they know not to judge. :D

Well they might not have anymore GA left, but they might not sure though. Floor level you get an assigned seat then GA floor its first come first serve. Like standing tickets they do in Europe;)

Nope, all General Admission tickets are standing area. There are no seats. :D So I guess in a sense, if you got tickets right behind the pit area, it's a good thing because 1.) You don't have to wait all day and 2.) You wont be squished! But I guess it's just a chance of being able to be in front row that is amazing! I hope it isn't too bad = \ I'm soooo excited yet scared at the same time. I've been to GA shows where people are just soooo horrible! People who came last minute who ended up all the way in the back just expect to push their way up front! Horrible I tell you!
